And sometimes you die from cancer and sometimes you don't. Unsure what your point is.

I was talking about all the variables. Wasn’t he?

Steelers are 7-0 and their next 3 opponents are Cowboys, bengals, jags...

In fairness, Charlie Ward never played in the NFL, opting for the NBA instead.

Right... because he saw the NBA as his future, because he wasn't good enough at football to make it in the NFL.

Mike Tomlin was on his way out, now they have the best record in the NFL.  He really is a great coach.  They are just a solid organization.  They draft, know when to let guys go and develop players.  The Eagles should seriously look at their scouting department and brings some guys East.

Why are you so chippy this morning

Im just attempting to offer an explanation for why Wentz is playing the way he has

Because it’s ridiculous to blame his poor decision making on those variables, at least vs Dallas.

Good post. Tomlin is a great coach and they are just a very well run organization top to bottom. A few years removed of getting rid of ab and leveon and they are likely going to be 10-0 in a few weeks.

No nonsense just football! Doug could learn a thing or two

Which could be a result of the blow to the head

Post concussion syndrome is usually the result of being knocked unconscious (serious concussion) or multiple concussions.  I have had both but not lingering PCS.  Last one though dragged for about six months.  Possible he has PCS but more likely he has four starting OL out syndrome.  Most hits in the NFL, most sacks.  Nothing a healthy Johnson and Seumalo won’t cure and if by miracle, at the end of the season, beginning of the playoffs, they can sprinkle in a little Brooks, that’s a recipe for Carson to get hot.

WTF is your point? Ward was adduced in support of the contention that Heisman Trophy winners sometimes fail to be successful in the NFL. Ward never played in the NFL and provides, therefore, no evidence for or against the contention.

I’m going to guess he doesn’t make any.

I hope he doesn't unless it's a stud for multiple years

I think both are a concern as even "turnover worthy” plays show a continued pattern of being careless with the ball.

I remember when everyone was complaining about Vick holding the ball so carelessly when he ran. Now that's what all these QBs do

I dont think it has anything to do with the concussion

Look at all of the variables at play:

-More coaching changes

-Revolving door at skill positions

-Shaky OL, lots of hits and sacks

-No preseason

-2nd Round draft pick brought in behind him

I think all of the above are more responsible than a concussion

I agree. I think those impacted him a lot more than they should have. I don't think this is because of the concussion

I am contemplating closing the Blog today, like all NFL facilities, to make sure you guys have time to vote.

VOTE!

 Why? You know you can stand in line and use your phone to get on the board...

Voted.  30 minute wait.  New format.  Paper ballot, and then scan through some fancy machine...

So a guy who isnt good enough to play in the NFL doesnt help the argument lol.

No, the guy who chose not to play in the NFL provides no evidence.

OK.  So on the first fumble, he's escaped pressure, moved to the side of the field WITH NO RECEIVERS, and still tried to orchestrate a play with a defender coming right at him.

That is decision making in the moment.  That is applying urgency to a single play that doesn't really exist.  It has nothing to do with the ten teammates on the field.  I can't imagine the coaches have not told him to give up on certain plays.  He is not getting it.

I think Harbaugh was closer. Everyone was saying how he was going to get fired. Then the next season that team sets the league on fire and they've been doing well since

Amazing how the fate of a coach is tied to the QB.

Its not ridiculous to think that those factors are influencing his decision-making, but OK

He definitely puts his players in better positions to succeed

You act like it was his choice lol.

He was still entered in the NFL draft. He wasnt drafted, and if he was drafted they would of forced him to change positons.

so sure his "choice" not to play in the NFL.

You need to do some research.

Why you mad, bro?

Take Charlie Ward off the list then.  I could name 20-30 more Heisman winners that had zero to minimal NFL impact.   Replace Ward with Sam Bradford if you want.

The point I made stands... Heisman status is NOT a predictor of future NFL success or failure.

And quite often, vice versa.   Goff is an example of that with the Rams...

If you can make it in the NBA you tend to come out richer than in the NFL with the exception of maybe elite QBs.  I cannot imagine opting for football over either basketball or baseball if you are good enough to stick in either league.  As much as I love football, economics and longevity support  the other two leagues.

I believe Goedert was on that side of the field, close to the LOS, and Wentz motioned to someone before he took the sack... but that was a terrible decision, indefensible.   Keep running straight out of bounds, or toss it away.  No reason to even take a hit on that play.

If someone has to be told by everyone under the sun to vote, then that person's vote shouldn't count.  We all get it!

I don't know about their vote not counting but they sure as heck shouldn't be allowed to complain about the outcome.
