Why you mad, bro?

Take Charlie Ward off the list then.  I could name 20-30 more Heisman winners that had zero to minimal NFL impact.   Replace Ward with Sam Bradford if you want.

The point I made stands... Heisman status is NOT a predictor of future NFL success or failure.

I'm not mad. My response was directed to Bacarty and his flippant response..

If you can make it in the NBA you tend to come out richer than in the NFL with the exception of maybe elite QBs.  I cannot imagine opting for football over either basketball or baseball if you are good enough to stick in either league.  As much as I love football, economics and longevity support  the other two leagues.

Yes, of course. Ward said he would play in the NFL only if he was drafted in the first round.

I agree with that... but he was a QB, and as a Heisman trophy winner, for the assertion to be true, Ward would have been viewed as an elite QB.  But, he never was.    But, alas... the argument doesn't stand or fall based on Charlie Ward.  Heisman trophy status is irrelevant for NFL success.

I believe Goedert was on that side of the field, close to the LOS, and Wentz motioned to someone before he took the sack... but that was a terrible decision, indefensible.   Keep running straight out of bounds, or toss it away.  No reason to even take a hit on that play.

This is correct - Goedert never turned around to look for a pass.

There's a lot of truth in this statement.

I thought you hated everyone... 🤔

Good luck today my American friends. The world is watching!

I think we are making no trades today because Howie is standing in a long line at The Center to vote.

Other GMs got their mail in ballots done and are being active at the deadline.  Howie sleeping again!

Lack of Skill? Ertz was top 3 tight end. Sanders was a finalist for ROY. Dallas Goedert IMO is a top 15(maybe top 10) tight end and you have a QB who was an MVP finalist.

How about... wait for it... the offensive minded coach isnt good at being offensive minded.

If you want a top ten offense, you need an above average running game, 3 solid WRs and a receiving TE. You don't necessarily need a superstar.

So when have the Eagles fielded such a group?  2017, Blount, Clement, Ajayi, Jeffrey, Agholor, Smith, Ertz, Burton.

The last time the offense was this bad was 2012:  McCoy, DeSean (11g), Maclin, Avant & Celek but also Harbor, Cooper, Damarius Johnson.

But the real problem was the OL:  Dunlap (12) - Mathis (16) - Reynolds (14) - Scott (7) - Herremans (8) - Kelly (10), Watkins (6), Bell (5),

The next season they brought in Peters (16) - Mathis (16) - Kelce (16) - Herremans (16) - Lane (16) and Nick Foles was a world beater.

I think Harbaugh was closer. Everyone was saying how he was going to get fired. Then the next season that team sets the league on fire and they've been doing well since

I like both Harbaugh and Tomlin.  Sadly, I don't think DP is on their level.  I think 2017 was lightning in a bottle.  Everything that needed to happen happened.  Even when we lost our quarterback, Foles hot and cold streaks lined up perfect for the rest of the year.

DP won Eagles fans over in 2017 first by being super aggressive during the regular season and then of course winning SB52.  Since then, I can't think of a coaching job he's done where I've said "this is the guy to get us Lombardi #2".  He does more head scratching things on game day than I would like.  He doesn't adjust in game.  He's loyal to a fault His PC's are just complete jokes along with his explanations and I just don't think he's the guy we need here long term.

I honestly have no idea what I want from this team.  We have no identity.  We don't have a strength.  We don't have a franchise quarterback or a defense capable of winning games on their own.  We have a good running back but he hasn't proved much this year and is now hurt.  He had 2 great 70+ yard runs but outside of those 2 carries he didn't do much at all.  We don't have a screen game.  There's nothing this team does particularly well.

I know I want Howie gone.  I want Jim Schwartz gone.  I want aging, injured, butt hurt veterans gone.

If DP is to stay the head coach then he needs a true OC to come in and call the plays.

I don't know what to think of Carson now either.  Was 2017 a mirage?  It's becoming more and more likely that it was.  He's flirting with Jameis Winston numbers right now and he signed a deal to be a backup for Brees.  I just have no idea what to expect from Wentz and that's not a good thing for a $120 million quarterback.

I would suspect the only trade the Eagles are interested in is one for Alshon.  How about Josh Jackson for Alshon.

I would take a moldy ham and cheese sandwich for Alshon... so, YES!

That's easy..................you hate everyone

hopefully the eagles aren't fooled into thinking they're actual contenders this year...just because the division stinks.  they need to be sellers today...but i doubt they realize that...so i'll settle for them doing nothing at all.

Important today that the Eagles do not acquire any new players from other teams.  RED LIGHT on mortgaging ANY future assets.  The Eagles "acquisitions" this year must come from "within" i.e. getting guys back from injury.  Yes, the Eagles may well win the division this year, and sure, "anything can happen" when you get in the playoffs.  Any honest evaluation of the team concludes that it is highly unlikely they would win a playoff game against any potential opponent, no less actually contend for the championship.  The difference makers that are still on the team are mostly veterans, and many entering the twilight years of their careers.  This is a team that has been very good, competitive, resilient, and won a championship that is now in a period of transition.  It has been robbed of talent over the last several years by extremely poor drafting and sub-optimal roster construction and cap management.

The path forward must be paved by people who know how to evaluate talent and pick players.  The last few years have shown that the current group is not good enough at this most critical function, and the only way the team returns to competing for championships is by getting the right people in place that can turn our draft picks into difference makers and quality starting players.

Forced to vote by mail in Jersey, Sent it in couple weeks back

I hope it gets counted. No matter how you voted

From Berman:

2. Among the five players the Eagles activated from injured reserve Saturday, T.J. Edwards was one of the least notable. Yet his return might have been the most impressive by the end of Sunday night. Edwards played 78 percent of the defensive snaps and led the unit with 12 tackles (six solo), a tackle for a loss and a game-clinching sack and forced fumble. He figured to have a big role in the base defense because of how often the Cowboys play 12 personnel, but the Eagles also moved him to nickel by the end of the game.

It was the best game Edwards has played since joining the Eagles as an undrafted rookie last year and it happened during a period when they are still determining what to do at linebacker.

"It’s never as good as it seems and it’s never as bad as it seems, but it definitely felt pretty good,” Edwards said.

Nate Gerry is on IR for at least three games, so the Eagles have an opportunity to reshape the linebacker depth chart. Edwards and Alex Singleton took the most snaps Sunday. Their performance merits the playing time. This isn’t necessarily unexpected. Edwards was productive last year against the run and made plays throughout the summer despite his relatively limited athleticism for the position. Don’t be surprised if he is the top linebacker by the end of the season.

Im just an average man, with an average life. I work from 9 to 5, hey hell, I pay the price. All I want is to be left alone, in my average home, but why do I always feel like im in the Twilight Zone?

I've been voting in this precinct for 20 years. This is the first time i've had to wait in line

Buyers or sellers today?

My prediction: If we do anything we are buyers but on a small scale, kind of like Avery last year, it will be a head scratcher. Past history is a really good indicator.

I don't care if we stumbled into him ass backwards, it's been a fun ride.

Live in rural southern  Eastern PA for over 30+ years voting. First time I saw a bus load of Amish at the Polls.
