I don't care if we stumbled into him ass backwards, it's been a fun ride.

Noticed Carson appears to be much more accurate when throwing to Fulgham. Perhaps a sign he is a better more polished WR than Reagor, Hightower? Perhaps he is in the spot he is supposed to be in more so over the Rookies? Carson to date has not thrown an INT when targeting him that I can recall.

He should be more polished, this isn't his first year in the nfl.

Edwards looked good b/c it was the perfect game for his skill set, rookie QB on a windy night, so he could focus on the run. I like him, I don't think he's some sort of slug, but you're not going to want him on the field in obvious passing situations - but as a two down LB he's smart enough to make plays against the pass on underneath routes, just don't get him matched up against a good TE on a route down the seam without safety help.

I'm not going to panic over Wentz, 8 games in a screwed up season with a crippled OL doesn't outweigh three straight seasons of 7 Ints.

He's trying to do too much and making rookie mistakes, but on one level this is good for his development, learning that when under pressure (this entire season) he can't force the ball downfield, he has to make quicker decisions and get rid of it. Last year he had good blocking but crap WRs and learned to take what they gave him, this year he has explosive but inconsistent WRs, which means every play is an adventure (just look how consistently DeSean got open when he returned compared to even Fulgham), one play you have open targets, the next they're smothered.

Problem is with Sanders out and two OGs who can't get to the second level, the only way they run the ball is to force opposing safeties to play honest, and that requires taking shots down the field. The trick is to recognize your deep threat is covered and dump it off and live to fight another down. And it helps when the deep threat is DeSean or Reagor rather than Hightower.

He's played less overall years than Reagor/Hightower though I'd bet

I think he just trusts him more. Look what happens when you target Hightower vs Fulgham. Reagor just needs time with Carson to develop the same chemistry.

So you think where we are has nothing to do with o-line? Brilliant!!!!!!!

so because howie doesnt draft corners, safeties, linebackers, receivers, running backs high it means he's better than everyone, yeah ok, keep fooling yourself over that.

I gotta disagree. Mailatas first step was to the right.  He looked like he expected Pryor to move that way too.

Now what we don't know is whether Mailata made a protection mistake or of it was Pryor.

Nope. Mailata could see the DT in the B gap, so there was no way Pryor could get over. Lawrence was Mailata's guy straight up without help. He opened the door and Lawrence went through it. The good thing about this was that it never happened again. When Pryor had a DT on his outside shoulder, Mailata recognized that there was no help coming from that side. OTOH, Goedert chipped a number of times on Lawrence, as did Clement. They gave Mailata some help and most of the time he didn't need it.

I took it as very encouraging that Mailata could flip from one week to the next and still perform decently. At worst he will be an entirely viable swing tackle, though I have much higher hopes for him.

It's his second and he's hardly played, Fulgham is just a sound WR.

For guys like Reagor, there is an adjustment period from college spread offenses where you get matched up one on one against inferior CBs to the pro game, where crisp route running is much more important, and that's where the lack of a preseason (and subsequent injuries) hurt. Which is why I think the second half will have teams around the league playing much better football - a lot of young players have had to learn on the job the first half of the season.

I've been voting in this precinct for 20 years. This is the first time i've had to wait in line

16 years for me... and same.  I know there have been lines in the past, and I've always gone in the early afternoon.   But this year I was able to go in the morning. From what I heard, when the polls first opened in my precinct - 6 am, the line was wrapped 1/2 of the way around the building.  By the time I got there at 8:45... it was only  just under 1/4 of the way around, and I got in and out in 30 minutes.

Great.... now I'm depressed.

Sorry, I was just sitting here reading things about the Eagles and I just don't feel good about this team.  Does this organization and I'm talking from Lurie on down really fill you with much confidence that they are willing to do everything they can to make this team a true Super Bowl contender?

As an owner, Lurie got his Lombardi.  He honestly seems more concerned about the Eagles as a business than a football team now.  He no longer has that Super Bowl monkey on his back.  He should be livid with the job Howie has done and the product that DP is putting on the field.  He seems content and has too much trust in his guys.

Howie-  What else needs to be said, I think we've covered this thoroughly.  Not much else needs to be said.  He should be the first one fired after week 17.

DP and his staff-  As my post said, everything aligned for the Eagles to win SB52.  the right FA were brought in, Ajayi trade, Jake hitting 60+ yarder to beat NYG, Foles hitting his stride.  Since then he's done nothing.  The entire offense is stale.  What do you even call this offense?  If you were to play Madden what playbook would the Eagles be?  I know that's a dumb comparison but think about it.  This isn't West Coast, it's not an RPO offense, it's not run heavy, it's doesn't rely on the deep ball, there are no screens to RB but they try the WR screen for -2 yards.  On defense, Jim Schwartz's defense leaves a lot to be desired as well.  Reuben Frank will post all sorts of stats suggesting why he should stay.  I just happen to disagree and want a whole new vision for defense.

Medical staff/athletic training staff/strength team-  We all know the issues here.  I think the biggest is the strength coach and training, not so much the medical staff.  I don't think the Eagles are preparing and building their bodies the best way for an NFL season.

What players do we really have to build around?  I'm talking young players.  Not including Kelce, Lane Johnson, BG, Cox, Slay, Hargrave and the like.

Offense

Potential studs- Goedert, Fulgham, Reagor, Mailata, hesitant to put Sanders here because of his injuries and 2nd contract looming.

Starter level- Herbig, Driscoll, Seumalo, Dillard

Reserves/JAGs- Scott, Hightower

Franchise QB-  Is Wentz the present and future or are we just waiting out his contract now?

Defense

Potential studs- none

Starter level- Sweat, Edwards maybe Wallace

Reserves/JAGS- Taylor, Singleton, Epps?

I don't want to be all doom and gloom but it's hard to get excited about anything Eagles related right now.

1. Could have been Mennonites.

2. True, the Amish don't drive cars or trucks but that doesn't mean they can't ride in them. Their produce, furniture, etc. gets to market in trucks driven by non-Amish.

Patriots did the same thing with Tom Brady...  I don't see any Cheatriot fans complaining about how they got him.

That's very interesting.   I didn't think the Amish voted, based on their religious stance.

Amish are the horse and buggy people.   Mennonites drive cars.

Agreed on Fulgham.  Year 2 WRs are generally much more polished than year 1, and you can see that Fulgham has taken the coaching.

Amish are allowed to be passengers in buses and on trains. (Some allow passenger in autos.). See Amish on trains all the time. They don’t drive and I don’t think they ever fly.   Hate coming over a hill driving the country roads around here and coming up on a buggy.  Fear of buggies and tractors probably make us safer drivers but scared the dickens out of me when my kids were new drivers.

I have lived among the Amish for 30+ years. Everything depends on their Church they belong to, but they do not drive cars once they join the church, cant have electricity in the house (though many have portable radios etc) no phones in the house (many have a small outhouse type building with a phone near the road, many have cell phones for business purposes) My next door Neighbor is an Ex Amish - he still participates in his Families gatherings and such Like Weddings and Holidays.

He spent all of the 2019 offseason working at RT, I think... at least played all the snaps in the PS there, IIRC.   So, he's got some cross training under his belt.   I do look forward to what Mailata can become in a year or two.

Normally they dont, or at least I have never seen them Vote before. This election, many have signs out.

He may not have played a lot but he has gotten NFL level coaching and has a year of strength/conditioning/practice at this level. The rookies have, 2 months? And like someone else said he appears to have taken the coaching very well.

No- I know the difference between Mennonites and Amish, my family was Mennonite.
