Buyers or sellers today?

My prediction: If we do anything we are buyers but on a small scale, kind of like Avery last year, it will be a head scratcher. Past history is a really good indicator.

Oh definitely buyers. Face it folks two things have happened this season that were "unexpected".

We folded in 2nd half vs Skins. And for some unknown reason "tied" the Bengals who to their credit just beat the Titans.

I "think" the Eagles are better than the Browns, the Saints, and Cardinals ( Hey it's "MY" thought ) No idea what they'll do against the Seahawks and Packers.

Man 2020 was by far the MOST BRUTAL schedule in the NFL but it's a league for grown men.

This isn't over. We're buyers if you've got anything good. Like a Corner or Safety.  LB's are worthless in today's NFL because of how everybody plays.

Would have liked to have beaten the Rams, Ravens or Steelers but the massive injuries took their toll yet AGAIN.

We have one of the best QB's in the NFC "if" you can build anything around him and yeah UH the Defense stinks.

Well that's not fair, ACROSS the league, Defenses stink.

They don't need to be good.... Just limit teams to 20-23 points per game.

Almost as bold as those folks that bought winning lottery tickets.

We sign a dozen "Fulghams" every season.  It's great that we hit on one.

I don’t think you realize just how bad the Eagles are.

I don't think you realize how BAD the NFC is.

Look at the score of the Tampa Giants game.

I often discover I have zero idea what Amish people are. I thought they didn't do modern transportation/vehicles or is that another group?

A number of years ago, a friend visiting from England asked me to take her to Lancaster where we took a tour of an Amish home and learned a bit about their culture. Amish can ride in vehicles, but not drive them, and they can’t be in them on Sundays. On Sundays, they have to do the horse and buggy.

Yeah... but... if you don't play, you can't win.   At least in the case of these roster lottery tickets, there's really no cost.  Churning the bottom of the roster looking for that diamond in the rough is always a good move.   UDFAs, late round picks, and waiver wire claims are essential to complete roster construction, because they are the cheap glue pieces you always need.  Fulgham just seems to have been a jackpot on the slot machine.  But even a blind squirrel finds a truffle every now and then.

While you're all running to your Doc for an Antidepressant,  we're hopefully getting Alshon, Miles and Lane back.

We got Mailata snaps and HE CAN PLAY . Herbig has been good.

Move Peters to guard. This is a much better team.

Didn't Howie cut Fulgham earlier this season?

Yes.  He had to clear waivers to get to the practice squad.

Problem is with Sanders out and two OGs who can't get to the second level, the only way they run the ball is to force opposing safeties to play honest, and that requires taking shots down the field. The trick is to recognize your deep threat is covered and dump it off and live to fight another down. And it helps when the deep threat is DeSean or Reagor rather than Hightower.

That fourth down shot to Reagor has to give Carson some confidence. Yes, it was incomplete but he put it right where Reagor could catch it. But for that thumb splint, it would have been a TD.  My guess is by the giants game Reagor is splintless. Then they can quit misusing Hightower. Hightower would be best on intermediate slants and crosses, where he can have his body toward the QB, use his change of step and head fake to get open and basket catch all he wants.  Watkins spent time with Carson this summer and if you believe the beats looked better than Hightower on long passes.  If he is active, I would like to see him get a chance at a ball or two.

Instead of game planning yesterday and today, the coaches are self scouting the team. That is what Wednesday’s team day will be all about.  I bet the position coach spends time with each player, including those on short term IR, going over a couple teaching points.

Speaking of short term IR, I sure hope that is where Alshon is if not traded.

The Eagles are just as good as Tampa in Week 8 2020. You can't have it both ways.

They BOTH in the last 2 weeks played the Giants. Eagles won by 1. Tampa by 2.

OBJECTIVE criteria .

If Tampa had played the Eagles schedule, the Skip Bayless & Shannon Sharpes of the world would be booing him into retirement.

16 years for me... and same.  I know there have been lines in the past, and I've always gone in the early afternoon.   But this year I was able to go in the morning. From what I heard, when the polls first opened in my precinct - 6 am, the line was wrapped 1/2 of the way around the building.  By the time I got there at 8:45... it was only  just under 1/4 of the way around, and I got in and out in 30 minutes.

Election days should be holidays, both primaries and general elections.  Write your state representatives and encourage it.

I think the Eagles beat Tampa IN TAMPA Tomorrow.

I still come back to this: this team is 5-3 with "average" QB play. Not "good", "average". That's Ryan Fitzpatrick level. We beat Washington/Cincinnati, but still lose to Baltimore/Pittsburgh.

So yes, it's on Wentz. It's not coaching. It's not the OL, as Carson played his best 2 games against Pittsburgh/Baltimore. The WR production has actually been ok. The defense is average, which again, is not what's killing us (16 in DVOA before Dallas game).

I like Carson as a person, but instead of saying he'll "play better", he should focus on his mechanics. He's still throwing off his back foot in clean pockets.

Believe what you want, I'm also the guy who TOLD YOU TO START MAILATA

and when you all shut off the TV's with 4 weeks to go LAST YEAR told you they'd win the division.

Jeffery will never play another game with the Eagles. If they can't trade him they'll IR him for the year. I'll be shocked if he plays here again

the signed him and put him on the PS

Then they resigned him and put him back on the PS

Because of injuries he was FORCED to be put on the active roster.

Yea. Howie hit a home run

Tom Brady only played because of injuries. If they thought Tom was going to turn out this good, they would have drafted him earlier.

The Philadelphia Eagles lining up as follows.

Reagor Mailata Herbig Kelce Peters Lane Ertz/Goedert Alshon Fulgham

Carson Miles

Are a very good team . And can win the NFC

Yup.

Now whether we can GET THAT TEAM on the field?  Remains to be seen.

I hope so, I dont need to see him or Djax take another snap as an Eagle. Just let the young guys play and allow them the opportunity to develop.

I am ok with all except I dont need Alshon back. Otherwise I agree.

I think that's their mindset as well. Doesn't help Jeffery is dealing with a soft tissue injury now. He's done. Only reason why they didn't IR him day one was because they want to trade him

Terrible comparison lol. Tom went to a major college, eared a back up role healthy and got in because of injury.

He went to a d7 college, cut 3-4 times, and didnt "earn" anything.

Listen, I love the kid, think he's legit, but howie deserves ZERO credit.

Sorry- there is not much I agree with in the way you use logic. we will agree to disagree. Howie deserves as much Credit as BB does for finding Tom in the 6th rd.  They both got lucky.

Luck is the happy convergence of opportunity and preparation.
