I still come back to this: this team is 5-3 with "average" QB play. Not "good", "average". That's Ryan Fitzpatrick level. We beat Washington/Cincinnati, but still lose to Baltimore/Pittsburgh.

So yes, it's on Wentz. It's not coaching. It's not the OL, as Carson played his best 2 games against Pittsburgh/Baltimore. The WR production has actually been ok. The defense is average, which again, is not what's killing us (16 in DVOA before Dallas game).

I like Carson as a person, but instead of saying he'll "play better", he should focus on his mechanics. He's still throwing off his back foot in clean pockets.

This team is 5-3 if we had an average kicker. Maybe even 6-2 if he hits that FG against WTF could have been a different game.

So now I read that Fulgham hadn't "earned" anything?  Or... maybe the cards were stacked against him because he didn't have the pedigree of others and coaches were blinded by that rather than evaluating his actual talent.  This kid isn't playing like a 2nd year WR, he's playing like a seasoned vet - and I'm not talking about his production, I'm talking about his route running.

Regardless who deserves credit on bringing Fulgham in, idc. I'm just glad to have him on the team

Then they can quit misusing Hightower. Hightower would be best on intermediate slants and crosses, where he can have his body toward the QB, use his change of step and head fake to get open and basket catch all he wants.

Yup, been saying this for a few weeks.  Hightower‘s best game tape from college is on the intermediate routes.

Still no trade.  Wtf Howie? Anyone know how polling lines are looking at The Center?

Seriously.  Make the call while he waits in line.  This is 2020!

  So Carson is a finished product and doesn't require any coaching from here on out?  Also, if you think a crap O-line doesn't affect the QB, you are sorely mistaken.

It has a huge impact.  People love to point out plays where Wentz has time but still makes a bad decision or bad throw — it’s not as simple as that.  He has to trust and has to know his OL is protecting him.  People don’t realize it’s physically painful to get tackled by a 270-lb DE.  Wentz can’t even guess WHICH OL is getting beat on any particular play; other than Kelce they are all likely suspects at any given time.

Eagles win this division at 6-9-1 and we are going to have to hear about it for the next 15 years or possibly forever just like how they always bring up that 2010 Seahawks 7-9 playoff team every week

Lines are long, and Howie forgot to charge his phone before he left.

I would trade a 6th for Kerryon Johnson.  He is signed through next year on his rookie deal.  He could start some games if needed and can certainly spell Sanders.

Dallas, WAS, NYG

And there's no service there.  Blocking Russian interference at the polls, so all signals are being jammed.

I don't see a lot of moves happening for anyone today. Too many COVID rules are going to make a soft market, and teams won't just give away players

Who cares?  If the NFL doesn’t like it they can change the playoff format.  The issue most people have with it is the division winner getting the playoff game at home.  That won’t be as big an advantage this season because of limited fan attendance.

Funny thing is... the only time I really see it brought up is when there's a case where a team with a losing record could get in...

But, we have the defense of... "it's 2020, so that's not the craziest thing that's happened."

The OL was good on Sunday. We ran well. We pass-protected well. Carson was terrible.
In the Rams/Bengals game, the pass-protection was actually good...and Carson was bad too.

You want to blame pass-protection on the first Washington game? Fine. Even the Giants game? Ok. But for the most part, the OL has done its job.

The coaches are telling Wentz to throw it away, but he just won't do it.

Well the Amish do practice communal farming.  Need a barn raised, neighbors band to help.  Crop needs bringing in, neighbors band to help.  Cows need to be moved to a different pasture, neighbors band to help.   Of course, that was the way of farming and ranching before WWII.   That’s what my dad grew up doing and his grandparents  and great grandparents.  My dad’s older brother has some postcards some traveling photographer did during harvest time of just that.  (Guess they were socialists and didn’t know it.)   Neighbors help neighbors.  Still happens in my neighborhood.

Mentioned him last week. The lions really aren’t using him and i think against the Colts they tried to showcase him a little bit to see if they could increase his value. He isn’t exactly the epitome of health though. But in a 1-2 with sanders i would like it. I think he’s a good scheme fit

I think the guy to get was taken yesterday, Desmond King. He's another slot guy but can play Outside CB better than Maddox or could play Nickel better than NRC, while also giving a lift to the PR team in place of Ward. I'd think Chargers would take our 6th over the Titans too.

Do you have inside information about this or are you speculating?

Doug has publicly said this year every year of his tenure with Carson

so because howie doesnt draft corners, safeties, linebackers, receivers, running backs high it means he's better than everyone, yeah ok, keep fooling yourself over that.

The only thing he seems to stay away from "high" is linebackers. That said you really need to learn reading comprehension.

I think it’s a fair criticism of Wentz to say the ball needs to come out on schedule, on target, and as scripted and he’s not doing that.  It’s also fair to say, though, that the Eagles have gone toward a more downfield passing attack as they said they would prior to the season.  That also contributes to Wentz holding the ball too long and taking too many hits.

Someone here compared 2020 Wentz to 2015 Andrew Luck, and I think it was a great comment.  Luck was victimized by an offensive scheme that included a lot of long developing plays, but also didn’t help himself with his own toughness.

There really are parallels there.

You ever think Carson plays hero ball cause the play calling blows?

No, that's just his nature. The 1st TD vs. Dallas was a "scheme" that Doug won on.
