None of this surprises me.  You’re one of the more clueless posters in the blog.   Howie has just proved how bad of a cap manager he is.  We are $60 million over next year.  You don’t think that’s bad?   You think he can fix that?  Our drafts have not been "standard”.   And yes, Doug has been doing press conferences.  But a few years ago he was muffled.  I wouldn’t expect you to know that.

We've already figured out about a half-dozen ways we will be fine next year...in this very blog...and since we're "clueless" according to you, well, I'd imagine someone like Howie should be able to figure it out too...since he's among the best at it,

So you're bringing up Doug not wanting to speak at press-conferences a "few years ago" and equating that to him being "muffled" in 2020?  Gotcha.

This team needs to improve, no one is debating that. But when you look around the NFL, especially the NFC, just about half the league (or more) have similar issues.  2020 has been a year out of the twilight zone....and the NFL is no different.

They can still see their family when they leave My Neighbor (in his late 20's now) Still goes to Family functions etc. He still dresses up in the usual garb to attend. They just dont belong to that Church. And yes their are different ruls for different Churches and Sects.

Maybe in your neck of the woods but not here.

Didn’t think I’d see the day where I’d say going from Miami to New England is a downgrade.

I know it used to be that way here 30 years ago, and some are probably still that way.  But they keep evolving, just at a much slower pace. LOL The Amishman who poured my concrete at the house is a Eagles fan. LOL I asked him how he followed the games, he said either Radio or once and a while they would sneak out to the barn and watch them after Church Dinner

Jeffery Lurie is among the best owners in the league, imo.  He turned what was once the laughing stock of the NFL (Under Braman) into a consistently winning organization, well respected among the league and finally a Super Bowl Champion.

1. Health has been an issue.  I'm not sure who's to blame for that but I would look at the trainers/medical staff first.

2. Groh was likely the scapegoat and someone had to take the fall....the fans would have likely revolted if there wasn't a change made in the coaching staff and Groh was likely that guy.

3. As far as Metcalf vs. JJAW goes, I'm almost certain Howie liked Metcalf but Metcalf was ruled out because of medical concerns.  Pretty sure "medical reasons" tales precedent when it comes to draft picks.  (As in, Metcalf was basically taken off the board because of "medical risks".)

4. Pretty sure the coaching staff is heavily involved in player/personnel decisions.  LJ Fort apparently wasn't a good "scheme fit" and in all likelyhood, Jim Schwartz played a part in that decsion.

5. I don't get to watch press conferences often but is Doug not allowed to talk at them anymore?

6. The Eagles drafts under Roseman have been right around "average" according to NFL standards...and that's with Douglas having a heavy influence over the last several years.  This year's draft is a "true Howie" draft, imo...and we should see the results within a year or two.

7. Howie is among the best cap managers in the league and he continues to be.  Until proven otherwise, he still is.

1.  How are trainers going to prevent knee, ankle, Achilles, thumb and shoulder injuries.  How is the medical staff going to fix those faster?   There were a few hamstring injuries early on but that probably goes to the shortened season as much as anything.

2.  I think Groh promotion was a mistake and the team has struggled for a receiver coach that fit. Rather than promote Harper, they sought out Moorehead.  Not sure that Scangarello or Breiner have added much. A lot of cooks in the kitchen.  May see some tweaks out of the bye that change our mind.  Losing so many starters on O makes it difficult to judge.

3.  JJAW was a bad pick. Trying to replicate Alshon, who seemed to fit Wentz.  Similar in size and straight line speed to Jeffery.  Now here’s the thing, JJAW is not agile.  He’s not a stiff but his 7.23 three cone suggests a LB, not a WR.  In comparison, Jeffery had a 6.71.  In the 20 yard shuttle, 4.41 compared to 4.17.  Fulgham, a 6.84 and 4.22 respectively.   Not peak Jeffery agile but not JJAW.  Now as bad as JJAW’s agility is, Metcalf was a 7.38 and 4.5 at the Combine and improved to a 7.23 and 4.38 at his pro day.   That’s pretty much what Metcalf has shown in the pros.  Great straight line speed that combined with his size gives him separation. Couple that with Russell Wilson who may have the most escapability in the NFL (Lamar might argue differently), extremely accurate on the move and a cannon for an arm.   Make no mistake, Metcalf greatly benefits from playing with Wilson.  He wouldn’t be so good in other offenses.  Ertz BTW, 7.08 and 4.47.  Trey Burton is the closest comp to JJAW.  Three pounds lighter, 7.14 and 4.32. Put JJAW at HBack.

4. Yup

5.  Who cares what Doug says at pressers.

6. Howie is the product of his staff.  In all drafts there are misses and sometimes surprise hits.  Fulgham is the result of scouting, both draft and pro.  Same with Scott.  About average, as you said.  Above average in later rounds and UDFAs.

7. Pandemic cap reduction plus already being in cap hell, I think he is way overrated as a cap manager.

1.  I have no idea but either we have among the worst luck in the league or something has got to give.

2. I tend to agree with most of this.

3. Agree.

4. Agree

5. Agree.

6. Agree

7. I think Howie is a numbers guy and he learned quite a bit about the cap from Joe Banner.  Other than the Dawkins move, almost every move they've made over the years has been pretty "spot on" when it comes to managing the cap, imo.

How do you explain that mess of 2021 cap and the contracts he's done lately

Dolphins trade for RB Deandre Washington.

Much rather nothing that Howie buying.

The fact is no one wants the Eagles aging, injured veterans with bloated contracts.

I voted today.
