Add on winning the division they have a first place schedule. I believe we face the nfc south next year and afc west.

It just gets better. I mean the NFC South isn't necessarily that daunting. In fact it isn't at all really. Though the Saints again? Jeez. But the AFC West? I mean that could easily be 3 losses right there. But hey that's next year who knows.

I think the bigger issue is that this team heading into the year even when healthy wasn’t all that great. I thought 7-8 win team with a high of 9. I was under the impression it was going to be a couple down years and then by 2022 if you drafted well and she’d some salaries be able to add some pieces FA and more youth added that you could make the jump back to contenders.

It's amazing how depressed Eagles fans sometimes get.

You know this team is completely capable of going 7-1 or 8-0 in it's last 8 .

And YES it's also capable of going 3-5.

It'll probably be somewhere in the middle.

This is a streaky team. They get healthy . They go on winning streaks.  It's really like some of you don't even follow the team lol

Happy the Eagles stood pat. Would have been ok with a JJAW vs. *insert disappointing LB/CB* trade.

Jeffery is a goner at the end of the year. IR him and be done with it. DeSean is gone too with Reagor/Fulgham being real.

crappy trade deadline. par for 2020 I guess.

It actually stinks desean got hurt again before the deadline. I truly think a contending team that felt they were one deep threat away this year would take a chance. I could totally see the packers and saints having legitimate interest in him for the stretch run. I know there was a rumor teams were interested.

Don't even joke about that <_<

I laughed but it is horrifying that that’s Dougie’s  mindset.

How much you guys want to bet that the Eagles will be fine in 2021 when it comes to the cap?

I'll even one up it and say that we will finish with a better record in 2021 than this year.

Ooh GIFs | Tenor

Finish up with a better record? Going out on a limb there aren't ya...

60 mil over the cap in a year covid won't let the cap go up much... There will be big cuts/trades coming to get there.

What is? That he can win the NFC ?

The Negative "mindset" exists completely in the minds of the FANS not Doug.

Fine?  How do you define "fine”.  Will they be able to play because he had to purge the roster....obviously.  Will they have the space to fill all the needs caused by terrible drafting and signing old injury prone players to bad contracts?  No chance in hell.   He’ll have to do a lot of work to get to or under the cap.  You think this team has the depth and young players to fill the voids?  Really?  Don’t answer. We all know.

I agree that there's a lot of "moving parts" but other than a season here or there, this franchise isn't known to have (or want) "rebuild years" for the exact reason I stated before.  When you are paying your franchise QB 30+ million per year during his prime years, you need to figure out a way to win with him...even if it means cutting high-priced salaries, etc and bringing in a youth movement...which was started with this year's draft, imo.

This, I agree with. But it likely won't be nearly as bad as some fear, imo.

No. That Mailata would get some perspective on the bench while Peters eeked out his final few games at LT.

Yeah that's a Contract thing.  He should kick it down to Stoutland.

Heck if you're not going to play him at LT, I'd play Mailata at RG .

But the "Team" is better with Peters at RG . Mailata at LT imho

Agreed. This is a flawed roster with some major issues to address and not a lot of cap space to address it with. Oh and a GM who can't draft so they won't be able to address those issues through the draft.

Of course nobody wants that contract, who would. I wouldn't mind trying some WR sets with Alshon on one side (if 100%) with Fulgham on the other with Reagor in the slot.

I'd rather bring back Jordan Matthews than ever see Alshon in an Eagles' uniform again.

What's the point of bringing up QB stats from 17 years ago? Also, Donovan already had 4 playoff wins at this point.

Folks don't wanna admit the clear double standard when discussing McNabb and Wentz.

The point is McNabb was playing as poor as Wentz is right now, but people keep talking about a double standard where none exists.

The thing is the guy is here. I don't want him here either but it seems like this regime loves him 🤷‍♂️

Seems to me that they did everything thing they could to make people believe that while there was the slimmest chance they could offload him.  That ship has sailed.  Time to dump him in the way that best benefits the team.  Putting him on the field isn't it.

They don’t. They were trying to trade him and hoped they could showcase and someone would be dumb enough to trade for him. It never materialized cause he is hurt once again and fulgham stepped up and they weren’t pulling him off the field for jeffery

This franchise has never been this far over the cap.  Any precedence you think Howie has set in the past is out the window.  They have failed to draft well to surround the franchise QB and those poor decisions are coming home to roost.

He's kicked the can down the road...  to here.  2021 is the reckoning, it seems.  And they haven't drafted well enough to combat the expensive players' salaries.

Be honest, how much did you cry when they picked McNabb over Ricky Williams?

I wouldn't put Jeffery on the field to take a single snap from any of these young receivers.  Give me Fulgham, Reagor, Ward, Watkins, Hightower, even Hakeem Butler over Jeffery.  Jeffery has no place on this roster anymore, let alone on the field.  They kept Alshon off the IR hoping to trade him, that failed.  IR him, free up the roster spot and turn the page at the end of the year.
