no. beasley and pettis

What's up with Beasley?  Is he injured?  He usually averages at least 5 sacks a year and so far nothing.

Long time away but doesn't seem like that bad of a schedule. Only teams I wouldn't want to go against are the first 3 you listed and then the most complete team the NFL has ever seen since inception, the Tom Brady Bucaneers

Saints will definitely be an interesting team if Brees isn't back.

What are you talking about they got this guy to replace him

He's been on a big downward trend the last few years. Last year he was only at 4 and then had a stretch of games at the end to get up to 8. He only has one move and has never tried to develop anything else. He's also lazy and takes plays off.

Regarding Beasley, I just scanned the Titans boards and they are saying he didn't show up to camp on time, he failed his physical and he has been non existent on game days.  They also said he was a bad locker room guy.

They have their own cap problems as well. And also something festering with Michael Thomas on the team.

Thanks.  I just scanned the Titans board and they are saying what you just said.  I don't want him.

I dont need beasley then. Our DEs are doing well enough this year. Will take Pettis though. Hes better than Ward.

Yep. Falcons fans were glad to get rid of him too.

Yeah, I won't shed a tear if they sink for a few years.

Look for Jerry Jones to sign him.

He did get Aldon Smith right though.

We'll see.  He is starting to drop off already.

I keep reading how Howie has been horrible drafting the last five years, except that simply isn't true.

The Wentz deal cost a bunch of picks, though Howie limited the damage by trading Bradford for a 1st. Short a 1st, and 2 3rds the last five years.

He missed on Jones and JJAW.  About 1/3 picked in those areas are solid starters or better, and 1/4 are complete flops.

Wentz, Seumalo (#79), Vaitai (#164), Mills (#233), Barnett (#14), Goedert (#49), Maddox (#125), Sweat (#130), Mailata (#233), Sanders (#53), Wallace (#127), Driscoll (#145).

Jury is out on guys like Dillard (#22), Reagor (#21), Hurts, Taylor, Hightower, Bradley, Watkins and Prince.

People have unrealistic expectations, Eagles have been picking in the 20s.

As far as Hurts, if you've watched the Dallas season tank with Dalton, you understand why they jumped on a young QB who can give them 2-3 solid seasons as a backup and possibly be a valuable trade chip.

And Randy Gregory.

I think he signed a one year deal with them... so they'd need to lock him up.  You never know what team might decide to snatch him up.   Might be a big bidding war.

Better to have no action, then over pay for something.

Should also do a comparison to who the weapons were

This was the year they had an elite defense with Dawk in his prime, the best offensive line in the league, an elite running game, and should have won the SB but choked in the NFC championship for the 3nd time in a row.

Yup.  3 headed monster season - Westbrook, Buckhalter and Staley.

Receivers were: Thrash, Pinkston, Mitchell, Chad Lewis and LJ Smith.

He must have taken Howie's advice on this pick.  All PAC-12 teams play at 10 pm EST when most NFL GMs are asleep, so there are all these gems just sitting there out west.

I hate the argument that McNabb "never had weapons."  My statement was accurate for 6-7 years in a row too.  Elite line, elite running game, elite defense.  Not to mention healthy players at all positions except for Westbrook from time to time.

I’d take a look.  Could use him in the return game.

I'd sign him and drop JJAW in a heartbeat.  Pettis has serious speed.

Drop Alshon.

Suppose the Eagles finish 8-7-1 to win the division, which means they'll have won seven of their final ten games, many of those games against what we consider now to be good teams.

If that were to happen, wouldn't it mean that we're "playing well"? So why does everyone assume that if we get to the playoffs, they'll be bringing with them the same team that only won one of their first six games? Why are so many fans hell-bent on giving up on the season at the half-way mark?
