Never play chess with Belichek.  You will lose.

I imagine this being narrated by Morgan freeman

the Jets were as excited as could be winning their first game of the season. But New England was playing chess while the Jets were playing checkers. Losing the battle but winning the war

The Jets will play their way to the number 5 pick like always.

Depressing stat of the day:

In a year when the Eagles had to finally get it right at WR and leaned on the draft for immediate WR impact on the offense...of the 17 WRs drafted in the first 4 rounds of this NFL draft, guess how many of them have fewer receiving yards than our first round pick...

Mims looks pretty good...

None?  Wouldn’t surprise me.  I don’t think he’ll be a terrible player.  Just thought it was a bad pick for us at that spot.

2 of 17.  Golden-Gandy of WFT (4th round comp), Bryan Edwards of LV, 81 overall.

I say this as much critiquing the coaching, play calling, and QB in getting a newcomer on board as the pick itself.  Still not a good look for the guy making the picks, per usual.

I agree, I don't think he will be worthy of pick #21. Hopefully he can be better than what I think he's going to end up being.

What impresses me about this and should excite all of us is at the 7 second mark.  He plants his foot, doesn't lose any speed and is at his top speed in a matter of steps.  He is a special athlete and DP should be creating plays to get him in to space.

That fourth down pass against the cowpads will soon find a splintless Reagor.

Patriots player "falls down” in coverage

Justin Fields will be learning how to deflate footballs very soon.

Can Newton had thrown ONE incomplete pass and the Pats are down 2 scores to the Jets.

What does that tell you?  Bill isn’t taking any chances and is choreographing the entire game.

We are halfway through the season and still haven’t really seen him in space, kind of disappointing.

When is the last time we’ve seen any receiver open in space to get significant YAC the past two seasons?

No idea.  Probably the time no one thought they needed to cover on that deep route a few games back.

No ish the ball comes off different.   And Ike is a nickname for Isaiah and Isaac, No ish.  Everyone knows that.  Just no one calls Seamaulo that unless they are trying too hard.   I am not assuming Huntley can return punts.    I’m just saying I would like to see them coach him up and see what happens.  They converted Greg Ward from QB to WR and Punt Returner.  So you’re saying a Kick Returner/RB from college can’t be coached up to return punts but a much slower QB from college can?  It was just a suggestion to see what he can do.  You had to chime in with the goofy response of "it’s a different ball”. No Ish!

Well thanks for acknowledging where I was right.  I note your Seamaulo for Seumalo. So I take a lazy approach occasionally and call him Ike.  Everyone else seems to know who I am talking about.  Pretty sure I read an article in the Athletic where Stout (yeah, another abbreviation of a name) referred to him as Ike.

I sure thought when you said you wanted Huntley to return punts, you were making an absolute statement instead of saying if they coached him up to return punts and thought he would perform well, then you would like to see Huntley return punts. I believe the number one job of a PR is to secure the ball.  Ward has done that.  The number two job is to limit the yards lost.  Ward has done poorly at that.  Number three is to get return yards, although I believe in today’s NFL, the rules and the way they are called are designed to limit return yardage. But we cannot assume a good KOR is going to excel at PR.  It isn’t the same.  Sounds like we agree on that.  I disagree on you, me and the rest of the fans seeing what Huntley can do until Fipp is convinced he can do it.  He got an opportunity on a KOR last week.  We haven’t seen ST practices much since TC.  The primary PRs were Ward and Reagor. Huntley wasn’t here. With DJax out, my preference is to protect our best option at Z and risk the slot guy instead.  If the fourth string RB is a better option, so be it, let him return.  I do believe as the Eagles get healthier, the more likely Huntley is inactive.

Hightower might end up as KR if his offensive snaps are cut down by the return of Jeffery

I would play him as the up man.

Spelling police now.  Great.

Not at all. It is not all about you.  Just pointing out why sometimes I type "Ike”:instead of Seumalo.  Lazy, true. Easier to spell. Frankly, I will soon come up with a way to refer to Scangarello much as I do with "Marty”.  Sorry my laziness offends you but frankly, I don’t give a sh!t. Ignore me if you so choose but I will post like I always have herein.

I got curious and went to tankathon

It has a mock draft for us at 19 taking OT Samuel Cosmi. Seems strange it would project us to take an LT unless whoever made it thinks Mailata or Dillard aren't the future

You’re telling me to calm down?!  LOL  Sure thing Francis.

Exactly.  Ridiculous assertion.

Hack.

Whole lot of stupid in here tonight.  On one hand, Mailata should be given a chance in the return game because of his Rugby prowess.   On the other hand, even though Huntley returned kicks in college, he is incapable of being coached to return punts.

Can’t make this ish up.  It’s like Dallas fan disease is spreading in here.

Everyone else got it. Maybe you’re taking yourself a little too seriously pumpkin.

You or I or anyone else on this bored can make a mock that is just as valid an these so called experts.

Someone forgot to tell cam Newton the Patriots plan in this game.

We have so many holes.  I would be ok with DE, OT, LB, Safety, Corner, GM, Trainer, Owner

If we win the division then we aren't getting a new GM

Jets grabbing defeat from the jaws of victory.

Listen you dunce.   You’re the one who felt compelled to quote me with a goofy reply about Huntley and PR.  Which started all this back and forth.  I don’t seek you out.  Trust me.  Tonight is another reason why.  So if you don’t like it thrown back at you, I would suggest that you ignore me or just don’t reply like you did and I won’t lash out.  I ignore you.  I would suggest you do the same.

Dunce?  Name calling is childish.

Or owner.  Lurie is absolutely one of the best owners in the NFL. Focused on winning.  Green initiative.   Takes minority issues seriously. Focused on Making Philly better.  I am sure he discusses failures with Howie and Doug in depth and what they need to do to improve.  He seems willing to spend where he needs to to support their efforts.

And we got a new trainer this year.  injuries this year are not suggestive of trainer issues.

I don't think Lurie needs to sell the team. I definitely think Lurie needs to fire Howie though. I'm on the fence about Doug. His play calling has been questionable but he could just need a better OC to bounce ideas off of. Don't know whether Howie forced the OC committee or Doug wanted to get cute but it didn't work

They finally got WR coach down. QB coach needs to go. Though the revolving door at that is a potential problem

Something needs to be done about the injuries. It's not just because of no offseason

While this may be true, it's a silly point to even be making given the fact that he missed a month with an injury.
