I think they come out very flat due to no practice time.

Fwiw they are allowed to practice outside. Anything indoors like meetings are virtual

Yes, but is Jefferson as good as Fulgham?

I'm happy with Fulgham/Reagor, maybe if we draft Jefferson we never pick up Fulgham off waivers b/c he's a big possession receiver and we already have one starting.

Jefferson isn't a "big possession" WR.

My only was Jeudy who was the most complete WR in the draft.  That said, it is way too early to grade out any 2020 draft choices.

Jefferson was my #1.  But, the final chapter isn't close to written yet.

He isn't a deep threat outside receiver, he's more like Hopkins.

Which meant if you had Jefferson starting, they'd been more likely to be looking for a speed WR on the waiver wire than Fulgham, and even if they had signed Fulgham, odds are he never gets a real shot, maybe a few snaps as the #4/#5 WR before being sent down to the PS again.

There's a certain amount of luck involved, for both the player and the team, right place at the right time sort of thing

I’ll post it again...

Of the 17 WRs drafted in the first 4 rounds this year, guess how many have less production than Reagor?

Too many constant excuses.

More like too many times looking for negativity. The guy has been hurt, you know it, and I know it, so this stat is worthless.

Fulgham has been awesome. Really happy with him so far.

Can't talk about that it doesn't fit the negative narrative.

Exactly. My issue with our drafting is that we lack foresight. We're never looking to the future with these picks. It's always what the player can do immediately for us. We have a crucial need for speed, so now we're going to eliminate a bunch of potentially great prospects who don't fit that mold. We're drafting too desperately, imo.

sooooo, you wanted another possible slow "possession" receiver?

I love it when most of you are so pessimistic that your predictions are that the Eagles lose, let's me actually predict what I think will happen. #fixthejinx

That’s just silly. Picking Hurts, Taylor, Bradley, Driscoll, Prince, Wallace isn’t looking to the future?

Crap draft.  But when you have two project picks (Taylor and Hurts) it’s definitely with an eye for the future.   Reagor is also one you can argue is a pick for the future.  He hardly showed he was a complete player in college.  But I will continue to call it a crap draft until proven otherwise.

Crap draft? Perhaps. But definitely with an eye to the future.

Why must everyone be pigeon-holed?  How about this:  Jefferson is a decent-sized WR, with decent-speed, decent-hands, and good route running ability... those, in my experience is just called a 'WR'?  He's not some limited player that can only do 1 thing, so let's leave it at "He's playing better in the NFL than most people expected."  (The issue isn't with Jefferson, in a case like that, it's with the evaluations of Jefferson, which he's not responsible for.  Many others have already short-changed the kid, and now you are continuing to.  Sometimes the Eagles make mistakes. And sometimes, it's not 'luck'.  Sometimes its evaluations, preparation and identification. )

Doesn't matter what you're doing as long as someone picks the birds to lose.

Comparing him to Hopkins is "short changing" the kid? It's a matter of style, Hopkins is one of the best WRs in the league, but he's not going to blow the top off a defense the way prime time DeSean did on a regular basis. Same way Jefferson isn't the deep threat that Reagor may turn out to be. Fulgham is turning out to be another reliable WR who lacks explosive deep speed, all he seems to do is make plays.

Ideally you want balance to force a defense to defend the entire field, a deep threat who forces safeties to play conservatively, reliable intermediate and underneath (slot WR) targets, a TE who can press the seam (keeps LBs honest) and one who can block in-line, a RB who can get outside and threaten LBs with wheel routes. A healthy Eagles team might have the most balanced group in the NFL, we just haven't seen them on the field for more than one or two games.

Most overused phrase in football 'fandom'.

We've seen Fulgham 'blow the top off the defense' when they leave him singled up, not by blazing past them, but by running a better route than the DB can defend.  And he's dramatically slower (timed) than Jefferson... nearly 0.2 seconds slower in the 40.   So, please... just stop.   Had the Eagles drafted Jefferson, that's highly unlikely to have affected their interest in adding Fulgham to the PS.

But, how about having WRs that can do ALL of the things listed there... threaten deep, be reliable intermediately, and even underneath?  Why not try to get a guy who can do ALL of that, rather than just some?   There you go again looking for pigeon holed players rather than finding 'players' that can do it all.  Jefferson has a much better chance of doing ALL of that, than Reagor, or just about any of the WRs drafted this past year.  6 feet tall, 200+ lbs, 4.4 speed, good hands, good routes... that's what you want.   He's only limited by the views people put on him.

Amen.

The Eagles are reporting a staff member with positive COVID test, they did not state a coach. A Staff member could be an equipment guy, medical staff, training staff, could be the trash guy.  If it was a coach, don't you think they would have stated it as such?   Like "one of our assistant Coaches"  Not a Staff member?

Jefferson was always a good prospect. He's protected in the Vikings system by only getting the #2 WR, getting more of his reps in the slot/tight splits, facing limited coverages as teams routinely play 8 in the box vs. Minnesota, etc. Those issues would not have applied here unless we changed schemes. He would have been given the Agholor role.

In terms of 'production', you might be right.  Here he might have been in the Ward role this year.  Or, he might have been moved around and played in a variety of spots.  But, we will never know.

The idea that this team wouldn't have claimed Fulgham though had they drafted Jefferson is completely unfounded.   Might Fulgham have still gotten looks?  Most likely... Alshon is still out... Desean is still out... Hightower still can't catch... Ward is still limited... JJAW is still JJAW.  There would still have been a need to get more talented WRs on the field.
