I’m not trying to outwardly hate on him. I just have this gut feeling when he plays they will go back to status quo and trot him out there over Fulgham who has earned the X starting position.

I don't think they will be taking any snaps away from Fulgham or Reagor. Jeffery in the X and Reagor and Fulgham on the wide side makes a lot of sense to me. If Jeffery is healthy, I don't see how that is a worse lineup than Fulgham in the X and Ward and Reagor on the wide side, and on paper it looks a lot more dangerous to me.

I am a huge fan of Ward, but I think it is sheer lunacy to give him a lot of snaps if Jeffery is even close to healthy.

I know it's cool to hate on Alshon Jeffery nowadays. But I remember him being the team's best wide receiver all three years he's played for the Eagles. Frankly, I'm excited to see what he might bring to the table this year. I think he makes the team better. I know it's an unpopular take, but whatever. At worst, he should at least improve the offense in goal-to-go and two point conversion situations, where the Eagles have struggled this year.

Seems like you'd like to see Hurts throwing the Jeffery for the next five years.  B-)

I do agree.  He was better than the folks here prefer to recall.  There is room for Reagor, Fulgham, and Jeffery in this offense.

I don’t mean to doubt you, but this statement seems to argue against itself.

Small sample size but Fulgham has been the NFL leading receiver since week 4. I don't mess with that and move him around when he's been the one bright spot on offense. If anything, I'd rotate Jeffery in for some RZ plays, and leave it at that.

[Jeremy Chinn] would be the big one, and who many of us wanted. Kristian Fulton also would have been a decent consolation prize.

I don't remember this enthusiasm for Chinn during the draft. Seems aaawwwfully hindsighty to me...

(Not defending the Hurts pick btw)

Here are his catches from the Steelers game. He was on the wide side of the field on at least half of them. Adding Jeffery to the offense won't change that. In fact, I would argue that he is much more effective with more space to operate.

Actually, I think Jeffrey will run a lot of Ertz's route, he won't be used as a H-back, but he's a big WR who can block and run those inside routes and catch in a crowd.

The guy who'll lose PT first is Hightower, who is really a year away, then Ward.

Chinn had pre draft visits with the Eagles and was in a lot of mocks posted in the second round. He was also talked about before he ever played a snap. I’m sure at this point in general it’s more of a hindsight take but he was definitely talked about in here

Reagor already ate most of Hightower’s snaps. He only had about 10 against Dallas

Fetterman is a sad person if he wants his reward in Sheetz gift cards... how truly sad.

Sheetz is to the mid state (including Harrisburg) what Wawa is to the Philly area.   Me?  I have never eaten food made at a convenience store.   I worked in one for about 3/4s of a year to get the experience needed to work in a grocery store with my long hair while in college.  I knew a number of people working in convenience stores and I wouldn’t have eaten their food.  The Marylanders around here swear by Royal Farms fried chicken.  Haven’t eaten that either.  Until Guy shows up at Wawa or Sheetz for Diners, Drive ins and Dives, I am not eating at either. But Sheetz cards work for gas too, so maybe Fetterman is targeting that.  He is a proponent of legalizing marijuana so maybe he wants the Sheetz cards for his munchies.

So your argument is that the Eagles with miss on #19 and #51, but you will hit on #5 and #37?

The odds of missing in the top 10 are way lower than missing in the 20s, which we often do.

Last few picks in the top 10 were wentz and lane. In the top 15 were wentz, lane, and Cox. The higher you pick, the less likely it is you F it up. Are there busts in the top 10? Of course. But not as many as in the 20s, especially with this team. The Eagles in the past 20ish years have done pretty well with the few top 10 selections they've had. They have been much worse drafting in the 20s. If they drafted at pick 38 last year in the 2nd round, I doubt they pick Hurts.

Bacarty's line of thinking is fine in this instance. Last time we were ish, we got wentz (with some trade ups), time before that, lane. Time before that, cox. We aren't going to suck like this very often unlike the rest of the division so take a better chance at a great player while we can.

Alshon = full. <_<

JP plays one game after three weeks off on IR, gets rest for five days for the bye and needs more rest?  38 year old LTs may not be the wave of the future.

Fulgham in the slot? He’s had a handful of snaps there but not many. That also is just a temporary solution until Ertz comes back. They also aren’t going to just straight out bench Ward, so it’s not like all his snaps will go to Fulgham

They can rotate all three in the slot while easing Alshon back into the lineup.

He absolutely doesn’t. He hinders the offense if anything. All he does is take Travis Fulgham off the field.

I doubt that is the case.  More likely one or the other slides into the slot to give Wentz a bigger target.

Depends on how the foot impacts his speed, agility and jumping ability.  All are key components to his game.

I think JPs body is just breaking down. He should just admit it and retire after the season. I think he is just doing a disservice to his legacy. Speaking of 38 year old tackles, that dang Whitworth for the rams is still playing at a high level at 38. He is def an outlier.

The good thing, if there is, about JP not practicing and Lane limited is that Driscoll and Mailata get some reps.  Given Lane and JP’s health, that might not be a bad thing.  Cox resting gets our expensive FA signing more reps.

Why bother replying to me?

For what it’s worth, Fulgham has played 20.5 percent of his snaps in the slot. Reagor has played six percent. Both are according to PlayerProfiler.

Rotowire gives a different number...

Whiteside shouldn’t even be active on game days with Alshon healthy.

Don't know if you guys saw this. It sucks

James Franklin told reporters following practice on Wednesday night that running back Journey Brown will no longer be able to play football.

Perfect timing. That's how long Foles was named the starter.

Tamorrion Terry left FSU and is expected to enter the draft.

Good stuff, Manu. Any info on Alshon in the slot since 2017?  Surprised to see JJAW with majority of his snaps in the slot.
