With Seumalo coming back this week or next and if Peters is decent at RG, am I crazy in thinking that the best oline they could field would be Mailata Seumalo Kelce Peters and Lane? Possibly another stupid question but Brooks has no shot at a return this season correct? Going back to Peters at guard, could he really be worse than the guys they've had to play there? Herbig is improving a bit I think but the other guys have set a really low bar.

I don't think so

Not crazy at all.

They may be slightly better with Mailata at LT and Peters at RG, but I think that Peter playing well on Sunday makes keeping him in the lineup for now pretty easy to justify. Plus, Herbig has been legitimately okay, and Peters is still an unknown at guard, so the safe, though unpopular, play seems to be relegating Mailata to the swing tackle role.

What would be worse is to sit Mailata for Peters at LT.

Enen if they'd be playing equally there's a future in Mailata.

Peters, not so much

Yep, Peters looked worlds better than earlier in the year last time he played. Its a matter of when, not if he, he leaves the lineup again, so Mailata will get plenty of chances this year to learn and play.

Local figure of speech.

Pretty much means the same thing

97% chance that happens until Peters goes down after the 2nd series.

I am enthused that Seumalo may be back but worry a bit about rust.   I want the Eagles to start their best five but also be prepared if Lane or JP can’t go,or can’t go the distance.  I have no idea if JP would be as good at RG as Herbig or even Pryor.  I have no idea if his knee and ankle hamper Lane to the point that Mailata or even Driscoll might be a better choice this Sunday.  I have faith that the staff will make the best season.   I also hope the coach that tested positive isn’t Stout.

Who the heck asked him this?

Im a Wentz guy, BUT in the end, the reporter has a right to ask the question. Some of the best reporters ask those tough questions. To me, I don't care if he asked it. If Im Wentz i dont care as well. Just more fuel to go out and prove them wrong.

Many of these "sports reporters" are 98 pound weaklings who got sand kicked in their faces at the beach.

It gives them a chance to feel like a man for the first time in their lives.

Media members trying to create a story is the issue. Brett Favre's opinion is irrelevant. Had a current Eagles player (*Alshon*) said this, then sure ask away as that affects the team.
It's ridiculous.

Nah, it was a classless question. Better phrased might have been. "Carson you have received criticism on your poor play this year and there has been a report that Brett (the idiot) Favre agrees with them. What are your thoughts on this and how do you plan to prove them wrong"?

There's a time and a place for everything.  And there's also a certain way to address a question.  The reporter failed on both accounts, imo.

I count at least 6 seasons in Favres career where he threw as many or more Interceptions than Touchdowns

Interesting take for him to have

Favre was the king of just throwing it up after a broken play.  Heck, he did it against us several times....and ended up with ints.

That said, he played in a different era and still among the better QB's of all time, imo.

The Favre question seemed both appropriate and somewhat harmless. Of course someone was going to ask him about it, and he answered it fine. I am not sure what people think the problem is. Do they believe that Wentz is going to start playing worse because someone asked him a tough question?

Who was the reporter who asked the question? Curious to know. Feels like that would be a Jeff mclane type of question

I guess the Packers should have stuck with Doug Pederson

The Favre comments are a non-issue.  Heck, I'm pretty sure there were quite a few in the Philly "media" who questioned if the Eagles were doing the right thing in keeping Wentz.  Why is this a story?  So a former quarterback has an opinion.  Lots of former players have opinions.

What do people want the outcome of this to be?  Do they want Wentz to mentally breakdown?  Do they want to catch DP in a DP moment and say something stupid so they can take that and run with new content for a month?  Who gives an F what was said.

I went back and edited my post and included the fact that despite that, I still consider Favre among the greats.  ;)

Wentz is 35-28 with 109 TD's and 47INT's after 4 years and 8 games

Farve was 37-26 with88 Touchdowns and 60 INTs-

Pretty close.  Albeit it different era.  Favre's stats would likely be better playing now, imo.

I couldn't recognize his voice.  Some of the guys here might.
