The Favre comments are a non-issue.  Heck, I'm pretty sure there were quite a few in the Philly "media" who questioned if the Eagles were doing the right thing in keeping Wentz.  Why is this a story?  So a former quarterback has an opinion.  Lots of former players have opinions.

What do people want the outcome of this to be?  Do they want Wentz to mentally breakdown?  Do they want to catch DP in a DP moment and say something stupid so they can take that and run with new content for a month?  Who gives an F what was said.

A. The issue has been brought up ad nauseum since 2017.

B.  There's a certain time/place and a way to address a question. And the reporter missed the boat there, imo.

And this is coming from someone (as many of you know) who considered keeping Foles simply because I thought he could have been a better fit for this offense, would have been cheaper and we could have built a solid, young team around him with the myriad of draft picks we could have had in return.  I really liked Foles as a QB, player and person.  But that doesn't mean I don't think Wentz has the potential to be a stellar player and QB...he's already done it for at least half his career.

That said, I've been over it for over 2 years now and it's time this fanbase, media etc started focusing on how to make this team better with Wentz as the QB, imo.  No need to bring up things like this from 2 years ago, imo.

I bet there are plenty of fans curious about Wentz’s thoughts on the matter as well.

Who was the reporter who asked the question? Curious to know. Feels like that would be a Jeff mclane type of question

It sounded like the host said "EJ" so i'm guessing EJ Smith.

Eh, I can't speak for the majority but I'd be willing to bet there's a good portion of fans who don't think he can't handle it, we just don't care about beating this dead horse over and over.

I'm genuinely curious if Wentz voted for Trump or not, given his public stances on both religion and new police reform. Should they ask him that?

It was a simple question. I think some fans are over blowing into more. They are the drama queens here.

They may be slightly better with Mailata at LT and Peters at RG, but I think that Peter playing well on Sunday makes keeping him in the lineup for now pretty easy to justify. Plus, Herbig has been legitimately okay, and Peters is still an unknown at guard, so the safe, though unpopular, play seems to be relegating Mailata to the swing tackle role.

Yeah. Peters played better at left tackle against the Cowboys than Mailata did at left tackle in any of the games he started. Unless Peters starts performing like he did against the Bengals (kinda ugly at times), it's probably his job to keep. And I don't have a problem with that.

Assuming that Seumalo is activated and is dressed (and starts), I'm wondering who the other three backups in uniform will be. Mailata, Pryor, and who? Driscoll? Juriga? Toth? Opeta? It's almost feeling like they have too many offensive linemen on the active roster.

I think that’s a pretty ridiculous comparison for a lot of reasons, including but not limited to: Not close to football related, and I don’t think you or anyone else actually is interested in whether he voted for Trump.

There's a certain way to address a question that's been asked dozens of times over the past two years, especially when dealing with a team and QB that have somewhat struggled this year.

Something like this would have been more appropriate, imo:

"Hey Carson, I know this has been brought up a million times and it's probably a non issue but did the comments that Favre made affect you or do comments like that drive you to be even better?"

My 2 cents.

Rutters or Turkey Hill are the other options here.

I grew up right next to a Rutters in York, so that was always my go to during the summer as a kid.  Rutters tea with a Smittie’s soft pretzel.

Turkey Hill is a good option too, their ice cream and teas are good. But neither come close to the all around greatness that Wawa has.

That’s a poor question for a journalist. 1) You’re leading him in a certain direction by calling it a non-issue. 2) It’s a close-ended question that leads to a simple yes or no.

Your 2 cents is your being a drama queen over nothing. Thats my 2 cents.

I dont have a problem with the question.  Wentz is too classy to respond to it, but if they want to try and get a rise out of him then go for it

Im more curious as to Favres explanation

Smittie's might be the most overrated pretzels around.  I know they are a York County staple, and they are OK once in a while but I never was a big fan.

Fotlz's Soft Pretzels in Central Market are much better if you ask me.

In this particular case I would do that intentionally.  This question has been asked dozens and dozens of times over the past 2-3 years.  It's old and there's little reason to try to catch him off guard (which the reporter seemingly did).  And how is (essentially) saying "Your hero bashed you.  What do you think about it?" appropriate journalism?

Yes, that type of question should have been a "softball" not a heater up and in.

My take is that there is no good way to ask the question because Carson isn't going to answer it.

You still ask the question.

I'm glad someone understands that Mailata playing better than expectations doesn't mean he is playing better than Peters.  Folks give Mailata a pass on certain bad plays.  "He'll get that right the next game."  Yet, Peters gets hammered for lesser mistakes.  Peters has fallen from a 10 to a 7.  Mailata has risen from a 0 to a 6.  7 is greater than 6.

I am truly sympathetic to the notion that Mailata needs more reps.  But at the same time, the help we are providing Mailata in the interim is hampering our offense and in all likelihood impacting Carson's confidence in the pocket.  Futher, with Lane's health in question, keeping Mailata as an option as a true swing tackle makes sense.  There are teams searching for one viable option at LT, we have two.

I agree with you. But as a kid I didn’t know any better. And they always had them sitting right there next to the register.

never had Fotlz’s, I haven’t been to the York Central market in at least 20 years.

It's a question.  I guess if in the one time a week you get to ask one of the QB and that's the best question you can come up with, you should go ahead and ask it.
