I just got an education as to who "The Weekend" is.  I thought it was a band.  Even still, The Weekend is this years SB halftime show......I'm getting old.

Spelling error.....oh sick burn.

no burn.  Lame joke.   Apparently you missed it being too busy being upset about a perceived correction.

Forgive him. He still listens to "Salt and Pepper.”

What songs will he sing?

Huh?

First off.  If that's how it is spelt, than that is stupid.  Second.  Do you even know what generation a "Boomer" is?  I am about 20 years too young for that.  And that term is over played.....seriously.  Get some knew material.......bucko.

Well, you post like a boomer and I should know. Oh and Happy Days references don't help.

Hopefully Lane is actually healthy if they decide to put him on the field

I'd rather Mailata at LT but 🤷‍♂️ he'll likely move back there anyway when Peters goes down again or takes himself out of the game again

I didn't think the Favre question was worth one of the limited questions they get to ask. I think it was just to get a rise and clickbait when he tweets about it

I forgot about Wentz putting on a bunch of muscle in the offseason. People in here were happy about it

FYP. As soon as I saw it I immediately thought of McNabb he would bulk up every season and it seemed to hurt his accuracy.

Am I the only who wonders how Doug felt about Wentz vs Foles? Especially with Brett Favre, a close friend of Doug's, voicing these opinions twice. Once while Foles was still here, and now while Wentz is struggling. Doug is frustrated with Howie, and I do wonder how Doug feels about Carson going forward.

It's not a mutually exclusive situation...

It's a fair question to ask now with Wentz playing the worst we've ever seen him play, but at the time when they had to make the decision after 2018, I don't know how anyone could have made a case for Foles based on what we saw from Wentz in 2017 and 2018. And with Foles playing how he is now, I still don't really get the argument. People are talking about this debate as if Foles and Chicago haven't just lost their last three games. It's not like he's lighting the league on fire.

For sure. Wentz had some bad moments in 2018. The Saints game comes to mind the most.

While Foles isn't playing very well right now, he was very successful here. SB. Almost a return to the NFCCG in '18. He gelled with the coaching staff here. The offense ran so smoothly. I do wonder if it was a more difficult decision for Doug, at least.

Remember Wentz was coming off his knee injury. Maybe coming back too soon.

People have rose-colored glasses with Foles because the two best games of his career (outside of the Oakland game in 2013) were the NFC title game and Super Bowl. He deserves all the credit in the world for what he did in those two games and rising to the occasion on the two biggest stages in this game. He goes down as a legend in this city for that and I'm not taking anything away from him. But he's looked very mediocre at times, specifically in the Atlanta playoff game from 2017, Atlanta and Tampa games to start 2018, Chicago playoff game in 2018, and the divisional round against the Saints that year as well after the quick start. If you extrapolate his ability to start for a team over a 16 game season, I don't think you're getting a franchise type of starting QB.

There are only a handful of QBs that I would take over Foles to come in and play a must-win, high pressure game for me. He clicks in those scenarios and he's proven it. But it's your games in September, October, and November that worry me.

Definitely agree with all this. I see it the same way.

Just a point on Peters and Whitworth.  Whitworth spent a lot of time over the past few years remaking his body to enable to him to still function as a LT in the NFL at his age.  JP at times, has looked a little on the heavy side, hence his mobility issues showing up after those injuries.  It's no wonder he slimmed down a little in his time off and got a bit of mobility back

That’s junk.  Normally I try to be supportive of Canadians when I can, but yikes

Except that 3 of the games you just talked about him being really rather mediocre to down right bad were "must-win, high pressure games" - Atlanta 2017... he was bad.  Bears AND Saints 2018 - he was bad.

What Nick is, is what he's always been, very streaky.  He can go super hot... and he can go super cold.  He went from super cold at the end of 2017 into the Falcons game, where he remained super cold... then hit that miraculous hot streak in the NFCCG and Super Bowl.  That's what he'll always be remembered for.  But, really... Doug Williams leaps to mind as a great comparison.

James must have hurt the shoulder in yesterday’s practice.  He was previously out with a hamstring. Hopefully, he didn’t catch Sydney Jones disease.

I don't disagree with you, but I have a slightly different perspective. I agree that Foles is streaky, but he's also a notorious slow starter.

My reply to people who said the season was over when once was down was to relax yes it's going to be harder but Nick is a capable backup and has a great team around him. But don't expect a lot right away, he was hurt during the preseason and didn't play, and backups don't get any wrecks during the regular season.

When Foles looked awful during the Atlanta game I told people calm down this is his preseason.
