I remember his first year here he won some kind of team award for best workout person in the offseason. I dont remember if he won a t-shirt or parking spot or something like that.

I thought it was odd we never heard the winner of that award any year after that. It was like the fabricated an entire story about a pretend award just to give him some early praise to get in fans good graces right off the bat.

And now, after winning that award that year, they want us to believe he is in his best shape ever.

I don't disagree with you, but I have a slightly different perspective. I agree that Foles is streaky, but he's also a notorious slow starter.

My reply to people who said the season was over when once was down was to relax yes it's going to be harder but Nick is a capable backup and has a great team around him. But don't expect a lot right away, he was hurt during the preseason and didn't play, and backups don't get any wrecks during the regular season.

When Foles looked awful during the Atlanta game I told people calm down this is his preseason.

If he didn't go cold in the middle of seasons... or the end - Bears and Saints weren't the 'start' for him, they were the end - I think that you'd have more of an argument.   We got Nick at just the right time with that Super Bowl run.. .he got just hot enough to get us where we needed to go.  But, he's never been a 16 game QB.

Even before Alshon injured his foot last season, he looked like he had lost 5 steps and was the slowest receiver in football.  That injury could have ended his career.  I can't envision him running a route where his feet don't look they are stuck in quicksand.  If they insist on playing him, I hope I eat my words.

No wonder Toys R Us went out of business.  It took them 50 years to realize the R was backwards.

Nah...  Russian uses a backwards "R" in their alphabet... must have been a covert KGB operation.

Josh McCown?  Seems like a good dude but that is quite a stretch.  Maybe in the future but this offseason?

That injury report is pleasing to see. The eagles get a lot of guys back this weekend. They’ve had the bye to retool and scheme the guys in who are coming back (COVID notwithstanding). There is no reason why this team shouldn’t be a lot, lot better right out of the gate. Especially on offense.

The line is now basically as intact as it’s gonna be. Sanders looks likely to play with complete enough line in front of him and a full depth chart behind him. Hopefully the run playbook is back close to its full strength, hopefully Herbig at RG doesn’t hold them back and Peters doesn’t implode. The line being back frees Goedert up too, they’ll need him helping out less.

Carson therefore has both Goedert back and Sanders as a safety valve out of the backfield and most importantly, has all his contested catch guys back out there now. Carson has never been a consistently pinpoint accurate passer. Watching the 2017 tape back, Alshon, whilst there is now considerable baggage, was huge for him and us that year going up to get basically everything Wentz threw between 10 and 20 yards. If Alshon’s anything like what he was, it’s going to help. What’s even more exciting is that in Fulgham, we have two guys who can do that.

Reagor can be everything Agholor was that year and more with his deep speed. There’s no Ertz, but Goedert can be that guy. Ward is fine as the 4th WR and means you can go four wide with four credible threats, with Alshon doing the levels stuff that they have Ertz running most of the time anyway.

All Carson has to do is not try to do it all himself. There are guys there if necessary, who can bail him out, but Carson has to be sure to kill plays off when they’re not there.

The defense is what it is. It’ll cost them some games, win some others. This team has a 5-win floor but a 9-win ceiling, especially if the offense gels with everyone in there and Carson doesn’t do anything boneheaded more than once a week. Anything better than the minimum is going to be enough for a home playoff game, and if the offense works they’ll get to .500 and stay there, for better or worse.

Seriously. Can't ever think of a player jumping straight to head coach. Makes no sense at all.

He should be disqualified for playing while coaching. That's some serious malarkey.
