Without knowing the play-call, it's impossible to know with certainty whether he should have sat down or not. You don't have to stop in zone coverage as long as you're running to free space, which Reagor was. The reaction of Wentz leads me to believe he just missed, but he also could have been protecting his rookie WR.

When it comes to a miscommunication, I’ll almost always side with the QB. Wentz has some really errant throws, but unless the ball slipped out of his hand (possible), I don’t think he was trying to hit Reagor on a dig.

Eagles are getting healthy fast. Big ups to the training staff.

He kind of butchered that tweet. This one is more clear

Yes much better

You can sure tell the posters that know a little something about the game and the ones that have no clue.

I’ll take that as a compliment!

And of course he didn't want to say anything about Hargrave

Don’t expect Hargrave back this week.

I expect Lane, Sanders, and Barnett back.

You should. ;)

Sorry, is that BG is not playing this Sunday or just isn't practicing this week?

He can't play or practice until he clears concussion protocol but once he's cleared he could play.

As usual Jimmy K was pretty much on target with his Birds analysis.  There are many red flags with this team, and this starts at the top.  The way the team is managed and run is not good enough.  Of course, it doesn't help when you draft so few starters and even fewer impact players over such an extended period of time.

The Eagles have a lot to correct and get right.  The championship team in 2017 had tremendous sense of camaraderie and a high level of desire, with a great mix of players.  The current team is lacking in talent, and numerous blunders and mismanagement have caused issues or let certain issues linger.  It certainly seems like the resiliency, veteran leadership, team focus and toughness that led the team to gut out playoff appearances in the last two years, despite tremendous adversity, may be at an end.  It should never have devolved to this point, but string enough bad decisions together and this is where you end up.

10) Eagles (0-1): Forget the mess that occurred on the field on Sunday. It's what is happening off the field that feels more alarming. The Eagles pride themselves on the idea that they have some sort of amazing locker room culture, but there's evidence mounting that things aren't awesome, or are threatening that cohesiveness.

  1. Zach Ertz went out of his way to make sure it was known that he is unhappy with his contract, and he reportedly had a heated exchange with Howie Roseman in front of teammates.
  2. After Andre Dillard got hurt, Jason Peters refused to move from RG to LT without a pay raise.
  3. The team was outright lying about the severity of injuries during training camp, which is something that players often don't appreciate, as players who are legitimately hurt appear to be dogging it when they're "day-to-day" for weeks or even months.
  4. Doug Pederson clearly wanted to retain 2019 OC Mike Groh and WR coach Carson Walch, and while it was the right move to fire them, it became clear that Pederson does not have control over his staff, while the team maintains that he does.
  5. DeSean Jackson posted a quote attributed to Adolf Hitler on social media, and there were legitimate questions over whether he would remain with the team in the aftermath.
  6. Alshon Jeffery bashed Carson Wentz to a national reporter two straight seasons.
  7. The Eagles drafted a quarterback in Jalen Hurts in the second round. If Hurts eventually gets an opportunity to play, success on the field (an ideal scenario should they need him) could lead to division and distractions off of it, as some players may favor Wentz, while others may favor Hurts. It's a Pandora's box that the Eagles might ultimately wished had never been opened.
  8. There's already an absurd number of injuries, and while there may be no blame at all for those on the medical staff (who knows?), the perception is ultimately going to become that it remains a huge problem.

The potential destructiveness of each of the above points can be debated, but there's undeniably an accumulation of issues brewing. It just feels a lot like there's some bad juju associated with this team.

To note, the consensus Eagles-Rams Week 2 spread was Eagles by 2.5 at TheLines.com. That has already swung wildly, as the Rams are now 1.5-point favorites.

Last week: 6 📉

How bad did Pryor look in practice my goodness.

Also, it really feels like we aren't going to see Hargrave for 8 weeks.

If Doug has Wentz dropping back and throwing bombs all game, it will be another a** kicking

if they have a game plan based on speed and tempo, we have a good shot

IMO Doug has much more to prove than Wentz, and I could easily argue that the Eagles organization agrees with me

So....

For all of us saying move Carson out of the pocket, here's DP at his best

If Lane is back I hope they slide Driscoll over to RG. I really have no interest in seeing Herbig starting again.

If BG can't go, the loss of Hargrave for another week is worse, especially considering the injuries at DE, they're already going to be winded.

Sure would like to see Hargrave on the field this week AND BG if possible.

Odell anyone?

Baffling response by Doug, but it makes sense considering our play calling is pretty predictable and other teams seem to know our calls based on down/distance

Although we may not always agree, you are among the "calmer heads" of the Blog, imo.

Yeah.  They think they're as smart as Casey Stengel or John Wooden.

hell no to ODB

Would like to see Doug relinquish the play calling for just one game and see what happens. I just don't think he has a good feel for the game while trying to be the head coach and play caller. He can still make his opinion known and help with the calls but let someone else try it just once.
