Although we may not always agree, you are among the "calmer heads" of the Blog, imo.

I don’t know about calmer, but I’ll take it.

Odell anyone?

Why is he available?  The answer to that also answers why the Eagles shouldn't be interested.

If Doug has Wentz dropping back and throwing bombs all game, it will be another a** kicking

if they have a game plan based on speed and tempo, we have a good shot

IMO Doug has much more to prove than Wentz, and I could easily argue that the Eagles organization agrees with me

Come on now.  If just 2 of those "long plays" would have hit, the game would have likely been over.  The entire point of getting "faster vertical threats" was so that we could "air it out".

I think the blame for the Washington loss goes around.  I'm not singling out Wentz but to say that "non of it" was his fault is just like the guys around here saying, "it's all his fault".  Neither are correct, imo.

Would like to see Doug relinquish the play calling for just one game and see what happens. I just don't think he has a good feel for the game while trying to be the head coach and play caller. He can still make his opinion known and help with the calls but let someone else try it just once.

It would be nice to have an actual OC to do that. This approach of all everyone has a piece of the pie and streamlines through Doug muddies the water in trying that.

You can sure tell the posters that know a little something about the game and the ones that have no clue.

Don't take it personally. Most of love And believe in Carson.

Tell him most of the board has his back.!

Baffling response by Doug, but it makes sense considering our play calling is pretty predictable and other teams seem to know our calls based on down/distance

You almost have to ignore what Doug says or how he says it. He’s so bad at press conferences.

If I had to translate, I think he meant they ran the ball so poorly on first down and they took so many sacks that they weren’t able to get the play action/boot action game going. We were in second and third and long all day it seems.

These rumors pop up every year, usually multiple times a year. It's too much smoke to not assume he is a literal turd.

This.

If you want to subject yourself to the horror.

That comment wasn't really about Carson. Believe me he had an awful game and deserves criticism. It's just funny when people watch a play and instantly think it's one players fault when in actuality it's not that players fault or it's a combination of things. Some people are just hell bent on wanting to blame one person they can't imagine it being someone else's fault.

Who would you have call the plays?

And isn’t a large part of the Eagles offense predicated on the QB and how he reads the defense?   For example, Wentz has options once he sees the defensive formation, no?

For all of us saying move Carson out of the pocket, here's DP at his best

That response from doug on why not move the pocket is possibly the stupidest answer I've heard. It's basically I'm a coach and your a reporter and I know best so shut up.

Carson was either hurt which limited his ability or the coaches are morons because there were zero reasons to only roll him out once the whole game especially with wash line.

Just mind numbingly stupid stubborn football by doug and co.

I put that loss on o coaches they failed the players😠

It's hard without knowing what the call was the level of blame to place.

There has been way too much angst over 1 game. It was a bad one, Carson included but the team will be fine.

I thought we brought in all those gurus to instill motion concepts into the offense.

He's just lying, and Carson is probably hurt.

Here's a free, innovative offense tip if you don't want to roll him out because its 2nd or 3rd and long.

Spoiler

Roll him out on 1st down.

Me too. Looks like they all took the summer off.

Shared blame between Wentz, the inexperience on the OL missing assignments, and RB not doing the job in pass pro.

The really frustrating part is there isn't one 'coverage sack' in the bunch -- just getting whipped in the trenches.

Lol, even an actual NFL defensive coordinator couldn’t believe Pete Carroll would let an elite QB pass the ball so much.

I don't know maybe Scangarello since he's the "Senior Offensive Assistant" or one of the other 5 guys that are supposed to be involved with the offensive game plan. That's another thing that's probably causing the issues. Too many indians and no chiefs.

I'm sure he does but you can only change to certain plays using the same personnel you have out there. It's not like he can go to some completely different scheme during a play.

Nope.  Plays that don't work are bad calls.

All I’m saying is that Doug didn’t put the team in the best position to win

you can say "if this” or "if that” but the game shouldn’t have come down to one or two plays

We had the longest passes, deepest drops; and most sacks allowed in week1.

and that is with the knowledge that our OL was banged up and the Skins’ strength was their DL.  Stupid

Not sure why you constantly go after Pete Carroll -- the HC hierarchy in the NFL is Belichick, Reid, Carroll, Payton and Harbaugh -- there isn't even a real debate to be had.

Like I said it's really not if you know anything about the game. Most don't they just go by what they see happen, not what probably should have happened.

Agreed but that happens every game here, at least since I've been coming here. I thing they will rebound but it's going to be a work in progress at least for a few games here.

If we can beat the Rams, there's a real path to 3-1.

I agree but there's no reason they couldn't roll him out to pass on first down.  Also, the data doesn't support that running the ball effectively helps play action.
