I really hate the look on Carson with the camo sleeve. It looks good on others, just not him.

Bloody hell, they kept that really quiet.  What did the DL coaches get up to in the bye week?  😉😉😉

Washburn tested positive for COVID so this was precautionary. They still did virtual meetings, Barwin was probably just the only one actually on field.

He was our third option in the passing game and had numbers in the same ballpark as Ertz and Alshon.

Yes.  Because he wasn't the guy they had to rely on.  Its not complicated... in 2015, he was thrust into spotlight as the first round pick, they were counting on him... he couldn't play.  2016, new coaching staff, they relied on him outside as a top target, and he couldn't hack it, and they had to sit him down.   2017, they add Jeffery and Smith as FAs, push him down the depth chart, move him to the slot and he blossomed, as the light wasn't on him as much.  2018, a little carry over from that, still in the slot.  2019, Jeffery down, Desean down, Agholor is the top WR... and he shrunk back... again.

Agholor is a guy who can help a team, as long as you don't push him into too big a role.  It's all mental with him, always has been.

Eagles are up by 3 scores and run the clock out to win

That would be weird.

He always plays awful with it too for whatever reason

We know now why the statement they put out was very vague.

with as veteran a group we have on DL  playing the gints for the 2nd time this season, this is not a major factor.

I have faith we should win the game today.

i am hoping Wentz doesnt turn the ball over as that should help

We're just not going to agree here. He was our no. 2 receiver and our third leading pass catcher in 2017. That’s a significant role, and one he struggled in during other seasons.

Yup.

Even the rotation is something you can set up ahead of time. Schwartz also knows how to coach DL.

Frankly, the veterans likely didn't need much this week... Cox, Graham, Jackson... they've been around long enough to know how to prepare, and let the young guys lean on them.  Not a recipe for long term success but for a week, not a major issue.   Barwin likely will be the guy on the sidelines today and that's more valuable.

You are talking production, I am talking pressure.... different discussion.

Agreed, I just thought it was interesting

He’ll be active within 3 weeks after Alshon gets hurt.

how many snaps does Alshon have in him before he gets dinged?  Djax didnt last a game, thats the bar, can he make it one game?

Im gonna take the pessimistic side and say no, he gets hurt during this game. That way if he does make it, and adds anything its a bonus.

Not really. I think he had pressure to turn his career around in 2017. I think playing in the SB is as much pressure as a player will face. I think it’s even more pressure when producing on the game-winning TD drive.

I've been back and forth with this game, I was thinking Giants win just as soon as yesterday, but I flipped back. Eagles 26-20

If they lose I'll be all about the draft and stripping Howie of personnel power in the offseason

Everyone get excited for the return of 12 personnel; we have 2 pass catching TEs today.

Alshon? That would imply he can block.

Sure.  And even in that game, he was outshined by Jeffery, Ertz, Clement and Blount.

So is Barwin going to be the scapegoat if they Dline sucks today?

Lol. Ok, man. No pressure for Agholor at all in that game. No biggie. Just led us in catches and was second in yards. Was clutch throughout the fourth quarter when the stakes were at its highest.

You’re tying yourself in knots to defend this thing.

Eagles-Giants in the Meadowlands... weird things happen, especially in the 4th quarter.   What happens today?

We got a win last week, we'll get another win this week.

Giants are 0-16 in their last 16 games excluding Washington. So if Eagles lose you can blame me for this stupid stat

Never said that.  I said that when he was the top option (or near it) he struggled.

Yes, he ended up with a lot of production in that game.  After the NE defense adjusted and worked to shut down Jeffery who destroyed them early.  They focused on Ertz, having their best cover player after Gilmore on him in big spots... Agholor was the 'afterthought'... meaning the initial thought was.... "Oh crap, we need to shut down Jeffery, he's killing us."  After already thinking, "We need to contain Ertz, he's their go-to guy in big spots (and was in the Super Bowl as well)."   So, Agholor was at the HIGHEST, the 3rd thought... In other words, he didn't have the pressure to perform as the guy that the defense was focused on.  When he was, in 2015, 2016, 2019... we've seen the results.   When less attention is paid to him, he performs better.  When he has more attention, he can still get open (we've seen that), but can't catch the ball... can't hold on to the ball fumbling untouched against the Lions.   So, you go ahead and keep focusing on Agholor's anomalies.  I'm glad the team finally moved on from him.   And I pity the team that sees his production this year and decides to sign him to a big contract next year expecting big things from him.  It won't happen.

No knot tying from me.  Agholor can't handle the top of the depth chart, and dealing with all that comes along with that.  The history is clear.

I like starting with the defense out there.     Go birds!

I especially like it when they start inside their own 15.    Great kick coverage.
