If we need a corner in the draft, look for Howie to take a fullback or a long snapper

We could use a new long snapper lovato has gotten way too comfortable and needs competition. Might help him to watch the game from the sideline for a couple weeks.

Makes you feel any better i wanted us to trade up for jaylon Johnson the utah corner when we were sitting at 53. I thought he was the perfect pairing with slay. Our secondary would look a lot better with him as our second corner

Him & Fulton were my two personal favorites for the 2nd round. I thought Dallas was gonna do us dirty twice with Lamb then Johnson.

Did the bears take foles off the field when they used Patterson as the wild cat QB?

No

I knew Dallas would take diggs. I actually think i made the prediction to iggles a couple picks before they got on the clock. I knew the bears and cowboys wanted corners. I figured the eagles might pull the trigger when they had a couple on the board to leapfrog them.

Nor should they. Patterson is normally on the field, so teams don't sub when they see him.

Teams know what we're running with Hurts.

The entire ST unit could use a overhaul. Elliot isn’t consistent anymore, we haven’t returned a punt or KR beyond the 50 since probably Josh Huff, and our punt return return guys let everything bounce to the 5. Fipp may have given up on Doug the way we have.

I feel like we had a couple good kick off returns over last couple years but punt returns we have been terrible really since Barner had that long return against a Cardinals. I’m sure we’ve had some decent punt return since then but it feels like that was the last great punt return we have had

I know Lamb has been great for Dallas and mainly took him probably to keep him from Philly, but I still don’t understand why they didn’t go defense in 1st round

Analytics only matter when going for it on 4tb down or 2 pt conversion

I kind of understand it. I look at who was on the board at 16 I didn’t think any of those defensive players at 16 were close to the player that lamb was. Add on when you look at Amari Cooper‘s contract it is very easy for Dallas to get out of that contract after the second year or even trade him before next year and have lamb be the guy going forward. Got to also remember Michael Gallup is a free agent at the end of next year so they were going to need another outside wide receiver at some point if he left. Frankly if I were Dallas Id trade Amari Cooper get value back. If you deal him pre-June 1 this off-season you save 14 million and it’s only 8 million dead money and you could get maybe a second round pick back for him. Then keep Gallup and lamb moved to the outside then go find my slot receiver in one of the later rounds

I just noticed Chris Berman does the 'comb over'

That’s fair. I completely understand fans that preferred Jefferson over Reagor at draft time, because I wasn’t super thrilled about the pick but I understood it. I’m more upset Eagles didn’t trade up for CeeDee Lamb. I like Reagor, but I’d prefer Lamb over Reagor/Taylor.
I’d be far more concerned with Reagor if he was having a JJAW like rookie season

Jefferson wasn't my guy necessarily. Though I did like him and figured he was in play at 21. Reagor wasn't on my radar. I didn't think the top three receivers were realistic where we picked. I did like Aiyuk quite a bit too plus the two linebackers for round 1. Really liked LaViska Shenault in round 2. I didn't love Claypool but he looks pretty darn good too.

Carson needs to study film harder. This is how you run the Jalen Hurts package.

I didn’t think the big 3 WR was realistic either but Lamb kept falling & it suddenly became possible. I’ve said it several times but maaan Aiyuk is going to be a beast in the NFL. Especially with Kyle Shan coaching him

I kind of feel like Aiyuk fell into the perfect spot for his skill set. He is basically a deebo Samuel clone. Those two to me are interchangeable when they are healthy. My belief is though if you gave the 49ers Jalen reagor and we had aiyuk here then i also believe reagor would look better. Kyle Shanahan has his flaws but he tends to utilize his players to their strengths and we do not do that

Lol I thought he was flipping them off while returning it

Wow. 104yds

That Coradelle Patterson never developed much as a WR, but what a returner that guy turned out to be.

Yup. I was a big Deebo fan but he’d probably be terrible here.

Doing it against his former team too. Kinda like desean catching long bombs on us for those few years

Meanwhile our returners don't even catch the ball<_<

Jefferson is so much better than Reagor I  don't want to hear about how the coaches aren't using him right or he doesn't have enough time yet. Jefferson is a star, thanks again Howie.

Fail

It’s 10 weeks into his first year let’s relax on rushing to judgement

Yeah and you can see it. We do not utilize our players to their strengths. Jalen reagor should be used very similarly to how the niners use Deebo Samuel. And we have done nothing that the 49ers did last year to get the ball into the hands of Deebo Samuel. When the niners got him acclimated that is when their offense really took off last year. We can’t figure out that we should get Reagor in a jet sweep this entire season or how to utilize his athleticism/speed in space. Like I’m not surprised with how reagor looks. And I’m 100% positive in another place with guys like shanahan or Andy he would look better than what he has so far
