Everyone but Eagles fans and Howie knew Reagor was a reach lol. Esp when Jefferson was there with our pick.

Hell the commish never even announced our pick before the Vikings picked Jefferson. They were laughing at us the entire time. .........................I was crying and screaming at the TV.

I laughed because it's expected

Just like Reid, Im sure at the end of the season Lurie will have his normal press conf and say the job is not good enough and unless there is a significant change, he will step in. Said the same about Reid the year before he cut him loose and Im betting he respected Reid more then Doug.

I still believe he let Reid go because the fans and the media had jumped ship and he likely thought it would be the best for everyone involved, including Reid.

A/R lost the team. Coaches don't get fired because of fans and media. Reid's time here was over.

I think they "thought he was" now I can just about assure you, they are likely having second thoughts.  They're not blind.  They see the same issues we see.  The issue with Wentz is whether or not it's a coaching issue, a Wentz issue or a combination of both.

So you think they can have second thoughts on Carson Wentz but they don’t have any second thoughts on Doug? I tend to believe they also have second thoughts on Doug Pederson who’s offense has been largely inconsistent and not good 4 out of the 5 years he’s been the head coach.

I’ll say this Russell Wilson had been trying to play hero ball over the last 3 weeks with his defense being atrocious and Carson out and he hasn’t look particularly awesome or like an MVP level. Without Carson and a consistent rushing attack over the last 3 weeks hes had 6 tds, 4 ints and 3 lost fumbles.

That stat line looks like Wentz 3 week average

Just because he wasn't this bad in 2018 and 2019 doesn't mean he was really good either. The truth is, as I said, he's average. His record outside of 2017 is average. And in fact by the time we are done with this next stretch his record even including 2017 will be average. The reality is, he's not as bad as he's been this year but he's also not good.

He threw for over 4000 yds with no receiver over 500yds in 2019

But is that reason why we should stick with Wentz and not look to improve?

For me the QBs that would be doing a better job in this current situation?

Wilson, Mahomes, Rodgers, Murray, Burrows, Jackson, Allen, Carr, Herbert, Brees, Brady, Big Ben.

I mean Wentz has been a bottom 5 QB this year. I think a lot of guys would have been able to do more with what this team has.

I think they'd all struggle here

so who should we hire as an OC? i dont want another Reid disciple

Doug is likely going to get another AR disciple so best cope with that now lol

I don't think a new (or actual) OC would make any difference until Doug relinquishes the play calling. We have brought in 150,000 consultants and to what end? Where is the motion? Where is the misdirection? What is new? The Hurts package?

Who would call plays if that happens? It wont though because Doug has already said no twice

If the Hurts pick had been anyone different, I think despite the record we would feel much differently about Howie.

I wouldn't. He's kicked the can down the road far too much with the contracts

They see what we see, But they also realize like me, that the revolving Oline and lack of viable WR's, along with poor caoching is affecting Carson ability to play well. We as fans sometimes overlook the facts. To think they dont look at 2017 and now and think whats the main difference? Ahh we had healthier better players around wentz. They realize playing qb doesn't happen in a bubble. Fans sometimes think that it does.

For me his time here was done in 2009. It took Lurie another 3 years before he pulled the plug. It was PAST his time to go, by the time we made the move

Pederson has made the playoffs 3 out of his 4 years, TWICE with his back up QB and won a Super Bowl with him.

Pederson's performance, without question, has been exponentially better than Wentz' since his tenure here.  Literally, WITHOUT QUESTION.

Yeah its weird how your perspective changes when you actually watch other teams and QBs and your minimum standard for QB play isnt completely unrealistic

I call it the William Wallace standard.  People want their QB to shoot TD passes out of their arse even if everything around them is sucky

Yep that’s the problem is most people on here look at the box score or just statistics or the fantasy football numbers think well that guys doing really well so he will do really great here too.

Like each team has their different circumstances and when you watch other teams like the Cardinals, Kyler Murray is given opportunities to make plays down the field and beat good teams because DeAndre Hopkins is the best wide receiver in football and kliff Kingsberry is utilizing him to his strengths.  They roll him out, they run him, they use options, they use jet sweeps and motion all the time.  Do we really believe if Kyler Murray was here that he would have the same type of success when we don’t even utilize the things that Carson Wentz does do well until midway through the 3rd quarter which is something the giants massively struggle against. Heck we don’t even use Miles Sanders to his fullest.

We’re finding out that Sydney can actually play, and Rasul isn’t really that bad. All of sudden Avonte Maddox isn’t very good. Is it all player(s) or scheme maybe?

Maddox can play, just not where they are playing him.

I understand the O-Line is decimated, there are injuries, etc.  I don't think people are faulting Wentz when he has less than 2 seconds to throw the ball, etc.  But I believe people are questioning Wentz when he has decent protection, 3 seconds to throw the ball, has 2+ receivers open but instead starts either running around or misses his receivers, etc.

It's simple.  These guys watch film over and over again.  They know from the inside what could have been done on every single play.

Lets be real, Doug made the playoffs 1 year out of his 4 years. Even that is under review with Frank being here. The Eagles made the playoffs the other two because of the weakest div in football history one year(maybe 2 with this year) and pure luck the year before. There was nothing from Doug that made those playoffs in 18-19. Id argue that Wentz play lead this team to the playoffs more in 19 then Doug. Doug was horrible in 2019, Wentz just lead the way in the final stretch.

He also lost his son on the job, literally. That's not something easy to overcome. It was a lot of factors that all pointed to one solution, a change of scenery.

Gym shorts is out at the end of the year

Benched maybe, but not gone. And if he is benched Doug better pray that somehow Hurts pulls his bacon out of the fire because if he benches Wentz and it looks worse, nail in coffin.

Doug absolutely knows he's on the hot seat, why do you think he's been acting like more of a **** lately?

That’s why Wentz should be benched for 2 weeks.  It’s information.  Plug out, plug in.

Do I expect things to get worse with Hurts?  Yes.

We have set our bar so low that Maddox just looking serviceable at safety was a good thing.  That was what 3 years ago now?  He played because of injuries and held his own.  He would be nothing more than JAG at safety too.

Unless you're referring to him being a nickel back.  IMO that's his best position, however I still don't see anything special out of him.  They never should have brought in NRC.  They should have signed/drafted a legit CB2 and had Maddox/LeBlanc battle it out for the nickel.

No, if you want to be real, Pederson has made the playoffs 3 out of his first 4 years here and won a Super Bowl.  That's REALITY.

This is false. He made the playoffs with Carson in 2017 and then won the superbowl with his back-up.  One thing I think needs to be talked about is that fact that Doug didn't want to fire anybody last year and was forced to. Muckety mucks like it when you can evaluate and decide who needs to go on your own.

3 minutes ago, LeanMeanGM said:

Exactly, hes a natural nickel. The problem is they let the only 2 outside corners on this team other then Slay go. We would be better off honestly with Mills on the outside and Maddox back in the nickel.

That's embarrassing.

Pretty tough though to bench him just to see what happens. At this point though I'm open to anything (I doubt benching Wentz happens though)

I’ve told you guys for 2 years that every DB to play under Schwartz has regressed.
