Yeah that's fair, Duce isn't bad.  I dunno about Fipp though...maybe it's just because he came in with all this hype about being the air-tight #1 best ST coach out there.

When's the last time the Eagles brought the #1 ranked whoever and they continued to stay at that level on this team?  It seems  when they bring in high pedigree guys they never live up to the hype.  I could be wrong, I'm sure I'm forgetting about some guys but it just seems they never have success with that model.

With that being said, I want them to raid the Steelers, Ravens or Seahawks scouting departments.

Com'on how could you not love that face... it just screams competency and sanity 😉

who do you think would win in a staring contest?

Aaron Moorehead: Eagles wide receivers have 'something to prove'

If you don't want Doug to call plays anymore, you can just fire him. There's no point in demoting him from that and keeping him as HC.

Although I think there's a misunderstanding that whoever is calling the plays, whether it's Doug or Press, makes a big difference. Most of the play calling is done during the week during the game planning. They go through the situations during the week. It's 90% finished during the week based on a defense's tendencies in different down and distances against each personnel. Sure, adjustments are made and that can be a difference maker. But most of play calling on game day is a formality.

Everyone was begging Matt Nagy to give up the play calling duties, and it made no difference.

Reagor is a very poor route runner, havent seen much from him yet with that but hes a rookie. I dont think him running a good route would have mattered. 1- Carson did just make a bad quick read on that. Maybe he was worried about the pressure but it was not the correct read. 2- Doug's go to route is the outside comeback which at this point most team know and plan to cover it. His Comeback, short middle hitch and go route play is getting a bit over used, lol.

I would say that an elite QB knows where he's going with the ball before the snap at least 75% of the time, maybe more. Even when he's looking off the safety it's still his intent to go to a specific receiver.

Yup, which is why he's looking the safety off. All in that 2-3 second time frame.

There are plenty of head coaches that don't call plays. And I would highly doubt that play calls are 90% done during the week. They script some but the rest depends on how the game goes

I can't think of one.  I remember Undlin was supposed to be the mastermind behind Denver's lockdown pass defense and....yeah.

GIve me Seattle's WR coach and the Steelers' DB coach.  They just constantly manage to find guys and turn them into solid contributors, if not outright studs.

All this Monday morning QBing is annoying as crap.  So many people coming out of the bushes talking about how we should have drafted Jefferson or Aiyuk... just stop.  Nearly all of you are speaking purely in hindsight.

Huh? I wanted Reagor, I admit that. But I also liked the other guys going in to the draft. I wasn't huge on Jefferson in terms of what this offense needed, doesn't mean I didn't think he was a good player.

Let’s just call it like it is:

2016: promising rookie

2017: elite with a big injury.

2018: average production with excuses and a big injury.

2019: average to below average production with excuses.

2020: one of the leagues worst starting qbs

Put it all together however you like.

Certainly not going to disagree with that. And based on that I'm not sure why people think he's going to turn it around.

Where did i say they should not look to improve if they felt that way? However wentz’s contract makes that very unlikely because of the dead money involved in his contract.

i didn’t ask which would be better in the current situation i asked which would make this team with poor coaching, a poor roster construction and misusing of players strengths a super bowl contender

Firstly, I know they won't move away from Wentz because of that contract. But I think that's a dumb reason for a team not to bench their starting QB and move on. That's just creating a bigger hole.

Secondly, why is it all on Doug? Why does Wentz get absolved of blame? Why is it the poor offensive play calling and not the fact that Wentz can't do ish? That limits an offense significantly.

There aren't any head coaches who essentially have play calling taken away from them, who remain as HC. If you're not capable, why are you the HC?

That’s simply not true.  The three years before this one he threw 81 TD passes against 21 INT.  He’s never been prone to throwing INT before this season

Who said throwing INTs?

I wouldn't mind Sanders getting more touches.

Doug just won't do it and never will. Or if he does one game, it won't be consistent. Caplan & Mosher said it's not what Jeff, Howie and Doug want... Absurd

Dougy said we were 50-50 run pass ratio against the giants. Meanwhile, Sanders had 15 carries, Scott had 3 , Clement 1. Then if you want to count Wentz's 2 scrambles and Hurts 2 throw away runs, it totals 23. Wentz hurled it 37 frikn times. Only on Doug's planet is that 50-50 because it probably pained him to even run that many times. Scott should of had another 5-7 carries and Sanders another 5-7... It's maddening.

A lot of QBs throw for over 4000 yards these days. Don't get me wrong to do that with what he had at WR was absolutely an accomplishment but let's not kid ourselves here. Wentz was up and down a lot last year.

11 QBs threw for over 4000 yds last year

12 in 2018

8 in 2017

Where did i say it was all on doug? Quit moving the goal posts of what the conversation and question i asked you was.  You continuously keep ignoring my question how many of those QBs with all these conditions would make this a SB contender. You’ve ignored or purposefully not answered this question.

i unlike you have admitted Carson wentz has played like crap all season multiple times with you and in this thread.

More than half the guys you mention wouldn’t be a SB contender with the massive amounts of other issues this team has doug and beyond. Yet you casually say Herbert who’s playing well with a similar team and yet has 2 wins. That’s not a contender. Again answer the freaking question don’t beat around the bush. It’s about 4-5 qbs that would. The rest we could be better but nowhere close to a SB contender with the issues play calling, roster and etc.

Also you act like it can’t both be doug and Carson. You can have crap coaching and crap QB play. Coaches like players can also have bad games and bad seasons. Problem is there’s been signs of poor play calling over Doug’s tenure. Just like there’s been poor wentz plays being called out.

It doesn't matter what the situation is, Doug has his game plan and that's that. He will stick to it and if he loses with his game plan then that's just how it is. Better luck next week I guess.
