If it is playbook and scheme then you have to go find a new head coach. Doug isn’t going to change his scheme and playbook. If you have a new play caller you might get someone who has a better feel and rhythm on what he is seeing out there.

Yeah I mean that's fair. I guess my point was just that the play calling is a reflection of the play book. If the play book isn't good then the play calling won't be good either.

Lol where is that ball supposed to be thrown??

This was our best, gottahaveit playcall?

Jesus

Bad route from Reagor? I don't like hearing that at all.

Why can't we put both running backs on the field at once from time to time ? Both in the backfield, one in the slot, one out wide... Change things up a bit. 🤷‍♂️

I am not sure what playbook and scheme mean anymore in today's NFL.  It seems like offensive philosophy is a hodgepodge of concepts meant to exploit matchups.  I mean the Eagles run RPO's, zone blocking and power running plays.  There are some ideas that could be utilized more which the Eagles use sometimes but not frequently enough.  I mean play action and moving the pocket were productive on Sunday but were only a limited part of the playcalls.  The bottom line is the scheme doesn't matter as much as understanding how to exploit a defense.  Too often, defenses just know what we are doing.

Just a stupid play all together to go after the best player on their team with a rookie in that situation

Not sure which was more stupid....that play call or going for 2 down 4 points in the 3rd? 🤔

I would like to see Miles used in the passing game more.

Been asking for this for years.

Had an amazing play once with it when we had Sproles and someone else run a sweet misdirection run play.

Clearly it worked so well it's been retired to never be used again.

DE McKinley released by the Bengals less then a week after claiming him when the Falcons cut him. Thats a red flag.

All i know is i think the eagles do a bad job at adjusting their offense to the personnel they have with their strengths and if they do it takes way too long into the season to do so.

Yup

Used both Howard and Sanders in the backfield last year against Buffalo, I think... turned into a 50 yard TD.

The embarrassing thing is that they ran 2 other flanker screens to Greg Ward in that game... Greg... Ward.  Um?    That's when I made up my mind about Doug.   That's inexcusable.

He capitalized on 2-3 big, but broken plays in the passing game last year and that left a lot of people thinking he'd be a weapon with the pass.  He's had a few bad drops and miscues in the passing game lately.  I don't think he can be used like Kamara.

I think that's overstated.  He was in position to catch the ball if the throw was better.  I am not sure how he was coached to run the route so Solak saying it was a bad route is kind of meaningless unless he knows what Reagor was told.  The bigger problem was play design and Wentz's decision making.  They did not really have a route to beat the underneath man coverage.  Why did Wentz think the safety was playing underneath.  Why didn't they have a better route for Fulgham.

I mean he could be used like Kamara if the Eagles had Drew Brees.

If had kept the exact same playbook yesterday but fed Sanders who was averaging 5.7 ypc 25-30 times instead of 15, don’t you think we likely win the game? Aside from the extra 1st downs he would have gotten himself, it would have also put the offense in much more manageable 3rd and shorts throughout the game than the horrible pass plays we were seeing.

The biggest difference between Kamara and Sanders is not their QB.

That's fair. He isn't Kamara. I do think he can be a bigger factor than he is right now still.

Now in his defense...Wentz has struggled lately, almost embarrassingly so, with hitting smaller targets in stride underneath.  That doesn't help.

Imagine if we used them on a jet sweep or on a motion hand off or on a shovel pass. Those are things you can do with them based off his speed and his body type. We have failed to do that in every game he’s played this season it makes no Fing sense

Don’t disagree.

But it helps the dolphins had a bunch of draft picks (high picks)to inject youth onto that roster and for the most part they spent their cap space wisely as well. Can’t say the eagles have nailed that aspect.

also give credit to Flores for building a winning culture. He’s an excellent coach. Probably the best one to come off the belichick tree.

Not as many as you might think.  Tua was their first top 10 pick since 2013, and it’s really only the 2020 draft where they had a stockpile of picks.

I’ve talked about this before but the Eagles have had I want to say 116 3r down attempts. They’ve been in 3rd and long which I consider 3rd and 7+ on 57 of them. That’s 49%.

I think Sanders dropped two passes against the Giants; he needs to clean that up.

To your point, though — he was lined up out wide against a Giants LB on one of play I distinctly remember.  He should have been Wentz’s first read with that matchup, and Wentz never even looked his way.

At least one of them was a crappy throw, but you're right.

I went and looked dating back to their 2015 draft they only have seven picks who are not in the league anymore. Now some of them aren’t starters and are back ups or role players but that’s pretty amazing considering the fact they’ve had 47 draft picks since 2015. At least that’s what I assume the bolded players meant on pro football reference

Also I meant high picks as in more round one through three. Not so much picking a top of the draft. From 2018-20 they have had 11 round 1-3 picks. Comparatively the Eagles have had seven picks in round one through three over the same three Year span. And the Eagles don’t have nearly as many as the Dolphins are going to have in 2021
