That's fine, and maybe you are right... but leaving the GM and personnel group in place isn't going to do any good, at all.  Doug didn't make the draft picks going back to 2014.

The primary issue on the team is talent level, especially young talent.  Yes, I am aware that they have had injuries the last few years.  That can't be the excuse every year.  Contributing to that is the age of the team.  The Eagles are what they are because of talent.  Coaching is a contributing but secondary factor, although much easier to change and therefore the easier scapegoat.

This season, the primary issue is the QB/coach combination, not the GM. Howie isn't calling isolation routes. Howie isn't telling Carson to throw YOLO balls on 1st and 10. We've said this, but "average" Wentz play means this team is over 500.

Ultimately, I don't like the idea of scapegoating. If I had to pick, I'd fire Howie/Doug at the end of the year and tell the new GM to evaluate the roster. If we keep Wentz past 2021. that's his call. I do want to see Wentz with a non WCO play-caller.

Thankfully his play hasn't declined either since he's both a fan and team favorite. If he was declining I think he'd get the Sproles and Peters treatment

Unlike them, he's not getting hurt constantly either.

Have a feeling green might not be here. That’s a good contract to trade as it’s an expiring contract for a team that wants to clear cap space going forward. I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s part of a bigger deal.

I thought the Sixers were a team trying to clear cap space going forward... so what do I know?

I think there's plenty of blame to go around for Howie, Doug, and Carson. They all have a hand in it.

For all the people who think the Eagles are better off bottoming out this season and getting a top 5 draft pick — who would the Eagles be drafting with their first round pick?

I don't think they will be picking top 5.  They'll be #19.

If they are bad enough to go top 5, then they would be obligated to take a long look at the QB's on the board.  If you like one, you pull the trigger.

If not, I'd look to trade out and get more firsts.

They could. Never know with this ownership tbh.

They need youth and help all around so it should be best available player.

I'd look to trade back to about #10 for a king's ransom (likely there will be a QB that some team will be desperate to get), and you use that #10 pick to take the literal BPA... any position, add a stud.   Then you look to address other positions with the other picks... Again... stick to BPA, without worrying about who is on this team.  Frankly, there's not a lot of players on this team that should have their position safe, save for Cap considerations.  And any players that might be made superfluous could be traded off.  This team needs youth and talent.  There are talented players available at ALL positions in the draft, the key is to find them without getting caught up in things like 'need'.  This team needs everything.

For what little it's worth, I think the Eagles will scrape together their best game of the season on Sunday.  This will be their 2020 peak.

They are ALL being dragged through the mud.  They will all dig down a little extra deep.

Meanwhile, Cleveland is directly in the middle of what ended up being the easiest 3 game stretch of their schedule (HOU/PHI/JAX)...very easy to get caught sleeping badly in the middle of that.

I think we'll see execution on offense from the Eagles and turnovers generated on defense.  It will all be downhill from there, but I expect their best effort and end result for both offense and defense of the season.

Someone on Oline

I got pick 5 using a simulator if they lose out

You fix Oline otherwise you'll have the same problems and be in a horrible cycle

Haven't followed NCAA hoops for some time.  Is Tyrese Maxey someone to get excited about Sixers fans?

I feel pretty confident they'll finish 4-11-1. 5-10-1 is possible too. I just have a hard time seeing us winning any of the next 5 games. They COULD beat Cleveland. Maybe the Saints if we don't have to face Brees and Winston/Hill turn the ball over a couple times. This team is pretty bad on both sides of the ball. The scary thing is that we could win the division still at 5-10-1.

Yeah this feels like a game Eagles win & look decent doing it, and gives everyone a bunch of false hope on the season.

You don’t draft o-line top 5 unless it’s a T, and that would be a waste with Johnson, Dillard and Mailata on the team

Can Lane stay healthy? Do you feel confident in Dillard or Mailata for the next 10 years? They're putting Peters out there instead of Mailata

Lots of unknowns

I watched most of Kentucky's games.

He was kinda streaky but when he was on he was very good. Made some clutch shots, played pretty good defense. Consistency and dissappearing at times was his biggest issues. Kentucky players can be hard to evaluate because Cal has so much talent on his teams, so it's hard for individuals to stand out.

Generally speaking though, Kentucky players seem to do very well in the pros (Herro, Adebeo, AD, Bledsoe, Wall, Fox, Booker, etc.), and they come in pretty well prepared with how Cal has them play - so I think it was a pretty safe pick and excellent value (I thought he would go around 15, so getting after 20 is nice).

He should be able to contribute right away and if he can develop his 3 point shooting he will be a great fit with Embiid and Simmons clogging the inside. I'll give it a solid A- (not that draft grades mean anything lol).

Cleveland has success when they run the ball with Chubb and Hunt.  If the Eagles can hold their run game they have a chance.  But then again Baker will probably look like Aaron Rodgers somehow.

He's from Kentucky.  Say what you want about Calipari but a bunch of talent in the NBA came from Kentucky.  Wouldn't surprise me if he ends up being a solid to very good player.

Plus, we already have two QB ..... drafting another one with a top 5 draft pick would be:

The QB Factory never has enough.

Even if the Eagles got a top 5 pick there is no way they would draft another QB there is too much invested in that position already if they can’t move wentz. If you have a top 5 pick you either move wentz and draft a qb or you trade the pick for multiple picks.

we can’t go

YR 1 - give QB 130 million

YR 2 - draft QB in 2nd round

YR 3 - draft QB with top 5 pick

everyone would be fired if that happened that is browns level trash

Heck should bring foles back when the bears release him after the 2021 season....

There’s questions but you are stuck with Lane for the next 2 years whether he’s healthy or not at a premium price. With as many holes on the roster as is Mailata/Dillard is good enough for the near future. Going pure BPA doesn’t actually happen. I’d guess DE, CB would be the pick, but I’d probably prefer a trade back.
