9 is exactly how i felt about that 4th and 10 play and the game against the giants

9. I’ve been plenty critical of Wentz, but last week’s loss to the Giants was a coaching disaster. On a key fourth-and-10 in the fourth quarter, a spot where you have to pick your best play, the Eagles opted for a back-shoulder throw to Reagor, who was one-on-one with cornerback James Bradberry, who is playing at an All-Pro level. It was incomplete. On what planet is that your best option? We see this over and over again from the offense. Isolation routes where the Eagles expect their guy to beat the other team’s guy. The problem? Their guys aren’t good enough to do that consistently. It’s on the coaches to put them in positions to succeed. Their game plan coming off a bye against a two-win team was embarrassing

Heck should bring foles back when the bears release him after the 2021 season....

No, we will burn a top 4 round pick on a QB.  We can hire Foles as the emergency QB/future QB coach like McCown

Can Lane stay healthy? Do you feel confident in Dillard or Mailata for the next 10 years? They're putting Peters out there instead of Mailata

Lots of unknowns

I feel more confident in a combo of Lane, Dillard and Mailata than Maddox at CB2, Mills at S, or basically anyone we have starting at LB. We’ve neglected the D enough the past 3 drafts. Time to inject a young stud in there.

Definitely how I feel. Yes it depends on how the board falls. But Regardless of position, defense needs to be the main priority of first 3 rounds I think. Unless Kelce retires and/or there’s a WR too good to pass up. Minus center it’d be a misuse of resources similar to the Goedert & Hurts picks to grab an OL in first 2 rounds. I could reason with a 3rd rounder being used on OL.

Their game plan to open the season against WFT was hot garbage as well.

The top of the draft will be interesting.  Currently the top 4 teams drafting are NYJ, JAX, DAL, and WFT — quite possibly the four teams that will most aggressively pursue a QB in the draft (especially if Dak continues with his $40M demands).  DEN would also be well advised to call the Jets about the #1 pick.

The problem of course is Lawrence will go #1, then Fields, who I don’t see as a great QB prospect.  Trey Lance would normally be a top 10-15 guy.  The next QB I’m seeing graded is Zach Wilson — who doesn’t impress me at all; he has a very good arm and very bad mechanics.

WFT could just go DE or DT again... 😉 I'm not sure their DL has enough fire power to be honest.

Yea if this current order stays the same, we could see 3 quarterbacks go either back to back to back or all in top 5. Don’t know last time that’s happened in a draft if it ever has.

1999... Couch, McNabb, Akili Smith.

Nick is shorter than I thought

Still holding out hope that the team somehow turns it around Sunday and goes undefeated through the Super Bowl , but that is my heart. My head says the chances of that are .00015%  and the "get used to this" speech  after the Super Bowl win was from a guy that had no idea how he got there and won it, and has no idea how to repeat.

Agreed. Come Sunday night we will all be back in front of our screens watching the game, screaming at the players and getting excited during the game. That's our hearts leading us. My head says we are going to lose the next 5 games but I'll still be there every week hoping we can pull it out.

The same coaching staff who thought going to Hakeem Butler for his first ever catch was a good idea.

Your head is very optimistic.  I think you need to add a few more zeros after the decimal and before the '1'.

BTW... he said that 'new normal' comment was about playing in the playoffs... so far he hasn't been wrong about that, and sadly, they are poised to make the playoffs while being a dumpster fire.

On 4th down... in a critical spot in the game...

Yup.  Not to start the day off with more bashing of DP but it isn't just his poor responses in PC's and reasoning for things he does.  It's decisions he's making at critical spots of games, play calling and much more.

If he was excelling in a certain area but had a few issues that would be one thing but every single facet of DP right now is bad.

I think Carson has the tools to be great.  I don't think 2017 was a mirage for him.  I think a fresh set of eyes and a new scheme could turn it around for him.  He needs a coach to come in here and kick him in the butt to get him to change things but also motivate him to be the best he can be.  He's enabled here by DP to just manage the game as we saw against the Giants.  The fact that DP said he did a good job running the game plan should be a red flag to everyone.

DP is the problem,

Same here.  But, that's how he claims he meant it... long after the event.

I see. Sounds like a snake oil salesman

Personally I like the couch

I would certainly hope he didn’t mean playing in or winning the Super Bowl would be the new norm. Even as exciting as things were in that moment, that is still an unrealistic expectation.

Tell that to the cheaters from Foxborough

They don’t look like they’re going back anytime soon. Looks like the AFCE is Buffalo’s for awhile with maybe Miami getting it a time or two if Flores is the real deal.

Maybe so but, It can be a realistic expectation.
