I feel more confident in a combo of Lane, Dillard and Mailata than Maddox at CB2, Mills at S, or basically anyone we have starting at LB. We’ve neglected the D enough the past 3 drafts. Time to inject a young stud in there.

You want Mills back at CB or off the team?

The top of the draft will be interesting.  Currently the top 4 teams drafting are NYJ, JAX, DAL, and WFT — quite possibly the four teams that will most aggressively pursue a QB in the draft (especially if Dak continues with his $40M demands).  DEN would also be well advised to call the Jets about the #1 pick.

The problem of course is Lawrence will go #1, then Fields, who I don’t see as a great QB prospect.  Trey Lance would normally be a top 10-15 guy.  The next QB I’m seeing graded is Zach Wilson — who doesn’t impress me at all; he has a very good arm and very bad mechanics.

I think Dallas wants to keep Dak.  I do think the Jets, Jax and WFT will look at a QB.

I’m sure you’re right, but they started 1-3 with Dak throwing for 400+ yards per game and should have been 0-4.  They can do that with a $5M QB.  Dak is deserving of market value pay, but if he’s looking for more than reasonable at some point they have to spend the money to upgrade their horrid defense

Yup.  Not to start the day off with more bashing of DP but it isn't just his poor responses in PC's and reasoning for things he does.  It's decisions he's making at critical spots of games, play calling and much more.

If he was excelling in a certain area but had a few issues that would be one thing but every single facet of DP right now is bad.

I think Carson has the tools to be great.  I don't think 2017 was a mirage for him.  I think a fresh set of eyes and a new scheme could turn it around for him.  He needs a coach to come in here and kick him in the butt to get him to change things but also motivate him to be the best he can be.  He's enabled here by DP to just manage the game as we saw against the Giants.  The fact that DP said he did a good job running the game plan should be a red flag to everyone.

DP is the problem,

Wentz is so enamored with the big play. Wentz is holding the ball too long, overthrows easy passes, and doesn’t know how to check the ball down on time. He isn’t reading defenses well and making any correct audibles at the line. There were 2-3 other options to throw to on that 4th down. Regardless of who is coach, Wentz is a major problem. You can tell by watching 80% of the other QBs in the league that Wentz’ confidence is just shot.

Very true

It's the NFL, teams turn it around in a heartbeat, the Eagles have the talent to do so with everyone getting healthy, just have to get Seumalo in at LG and Herbig at RG, and you'd see a huge improvement - against the Giants, two of the leagues best DTs went against two of the league's worst OGs - guess who won?

I understand why they want Jeffrey and Ertz out there, they're not going to make big plays, but will provide reliable check down options who'll be where they're supposed to be.

If you're gonna transition to a lot of inexperienced receivers, you'd rather not do it in a season without mini-camps and exhibition games.

The thing with a Schwartz defense is it works better with a good offense because he's more bend/not break, he's not a good blitzing DC, and isn't going to shut teams down, but they manage to hang in there if the offense can keep them in a game. Part is lack of talent, part is imbalance of talent.

I've seen enough from Opeta to want to bring him back after a year in the weight room, he's athletic but undersized right now, but Pryor is bad, we're talking sloooow feet, which is bad enough on run plays, but unlike Herbig, who is a stone wall in pass protection, Pryor gets beat on the first step and struggles to see and adjust to stunts. Other than that, he's fine.

Stopping by to say, Fletcher Cox needs to take a massive pay cut or he needs to go. Not saying he's been terrible this season and I know he has an injury, but he as all the help in the world on the line with him and still isn't doing a whole lot.

Opeta did 39 reps in the bench press. As a comparison, 42 reps gets you in the top 10 for most reps ever done at the combine.

So strength is not his problem.

If they have any sense, and I believe Stephen Jones does, they would draft Surtain or Rousseau.  I think they have found that Dalton wasn't able to replace Dak nor have the other back ups.  So I think they will pay him. Drafting defense early gives them a chance to improve that side of the ball.

I mean okay. Most of observation is opinion. Wentz leads the league in turnovers.  Wentz is 24-27-1 in every season but 2017. Wentz has never won a playoff game. The facts are there as well.

Every year someone on the team is hating on Wentz.

Meanwhile, Pederson won a Super Bowl with another QB and everyone says they love him.

Bench press doesn't help him anchor and he just doesn't seem to be able to anchor well.

In other news the 76ers are looking pretty good.

Joel Embiid

Ben Simmons

Seth Curry

Danny Green

Tobias Harris

Matisse Thybulle

Shake Milton

Furkan Korkmaz

Mike Scott

Tyrese Maxey

I can't argue that one way or the other. But I doubt that any of his problems will be solved by spending more time in the weight room.

Also, he's an UDFA making his second career start against a defense with a stable of legit DTs. Under those circumstances, he did pretty well, and was light years better than Kelce, who looked like he had never played football before.

Yep. The bench press doesn’t show any functional strength for a lineman, particularly an interior lineman. Balance and lower body strength is so much more important.

One could easily say Wentz was playing at MVP level 2017 with Reich. As soon as Reich left and it was just Doug, we’ve seen regression year after year. Is that a coincidence?

Meanwhile Reich is winning with a bunch of JAGs at QB.

He’s playing like a top-10 receiver so if his fans want to complain, I think they’ve earned that right.

Well if they want to be a bunch of impatient bishes I agree.

Weight room strength doesn't necessarily translate into field strength.

For OL, anchoring is more about lower body strength and mass, bench press might translate into a stronger punch if you have good technique, but that's about it

You can watch Opeta and see that he struggles to anchor.

That guy seems to offer good insight but he needs to slow down his speaking and maybe do a slow mo or replay too.  He cruises through and then done.
