and?

Just thought it was interesting seeing how another organization perceived the Reagor pick. They clearly didn’t have him anywhere near Jefferson and would have settled on a corner had he been gone at 21. I get Reagor has been hurt this year, but even if healthy I doubt he matches what Jefferson has done thus far. But we’ll see how it pans out.

C'mon guys what the Eagles offense was lacking the year before was youth and speed at the w.r. position. They feel they got it in Reagor. It's not like they picked a JJAW again.

They need to get healthy on the OL for 2021, draft another useful RB to go with Sanders (for when he's dinged up), and another WR threat to go with Reagor and Fulgham.

On defense they're in dire need of a stud LB, a #2 CB who can develop into a #1, a DE and at least one S.  There are a lot of holes.

That part about Wentz having the worst supporting cast in the NFL.........

The Jets might have something to say about that.

Yeah that is just plain false. The Eagles may not have a bonafide #1 WR but they have a lot of talent at the skill positions. The O-line is a bit of a weak spot but that's more due to injury than any other factor.

There wasn't a single reputable mock draft prior to April that had Reagor outside the first round.  The pick was good; coach him up to be excellent.

I thought the the paragraph saying wentz wasn’t mentally tough was interesting

One theory, shared by an NFL executive, is that Wentz is mentally defeated. "First you have to sit on the sidelines and watch Nick Foles win a Super Bowl with your team, then you watch your general manager draft a quarterback in the second round instead of giving you more help; that's going to take a toll on a kid who was never seen as super mentally tough."

If that bother him then that isnt good.

A great QB would look at all that and say I'm gonna prove everyone wrong.

Which brings me to believe that Wentz isnt a great QB.  What we saw in 2017 is long gone.  Maybe he can be a pretty good and sometimes great QB for stretches but never consistently great.

Doug just doesnt know how to use the talent he has. He does not know how to as Reid use to say " Put the players in the best position to succeed" Doug fails in that area.

I have been a huge Wentz fan since we got him and maybe I'm not the one to judge but, I haven't noticed him lacking in physical or mental toughness.

JJAW finally caught something

Looks like everyone is practicing today except for Rudy Ford.

Was Peters injured? Saying good news Peters is at practice after he was playing on Sunday is strange to me. Was it sarcasm because Mailata should be at LT?

Most mocks had Jefferson higher than Reagor. Never said that Reagor wasn’t worthy of a first.

I agree.  I couldnt even name the WRs and RBs on Miami, NE and NYJ.

He had a rest day yesterday so I am guessing that is why.

I really haven’t either. That’s why it caught me off guard when I read it.

However his quote about them drafting Jalen hurts instead of getting him weapons is a true statement. i give les Bowen credit and i rarely do. He basically told the eagles in the press conference that they were drafting a quarterback knowing when their quarterback just got out of dealing with the whole Nick Foles issue and started playing well at the end of the year and finally seemed to get out of that shadow. The  you put them back in the same kind of position with a quarterback draft in the second round.  I give credit to les and i rarely do with les because he pointed it out and had the balls to say that to the eagles during the presser on draft night

Week by week the injury excuse goes out the window. Sanders, Fulgham, Goedert, Reagor, and getting Alshon back should have been more than enough to beat NYG and they put up their lowest amount of points all season coming off a bye week. This is just not a good offense. Seumalo isn’t the savior that’s going to fix it.

I think if we get torched by Baker on Sunday it's time to fire Schwartz.  Doug wont do it so it'll have to be Howie or Lurie.

The season will be lost so get Schwartz out of there and give someone else a chance.  Play the younger players and see what you have.  I know we will still be in the hunt for the NFC East but come on.....give it up.

Nobody sane wanted a quarterback there, and here we are reaping some of the rewards for not picking someone there that could help our o or d.

So what was their response?

Ive been calling for Jim's head since 2018 but firing him now wont matter. Anyone you give the job to now cant change the scheme this late in the season. Takes a full offseason to do that. His contract is up after the season. We saw that when they fired Juan and gave the job to Todd back in the Andy days. I thought Todd should have stayed but they let him walk at the end of the season.  Im sure they already have names on a list they want to or already have contacted about the job.

And what is the replacement plan...it is myopic to fire someone and not have a plan in place for his replacement..in fact it is just plain foolish!

I’d have to go back and find it. I just remember they played it on 975 the night of and talked about it with him a couple days later and he said it was absolutely ridiculous that they did that knowing everything Carson just went through with foles

Hurts is no threat to Wentz, he reflected the reality that Wentz has gotten injured repeatedly, and the pain of watching McCown last year.

Nor is #53 exactly a lock to start in the NFL. Of the next 14 picks, 2 are starting.

The guys picked after him:

#54 Epenesa DE,

#55 Dobbins, RB  55/310

#56 Davis, DT

#57 Jefferson WR 10/136

#58 Cleveland, OT

#59 Mims WR, 10/146

#60 Uche, LB

#61 Fulton CB

#62 Dillon RB 23/97

#63 Gay LB

#64 Chinn S

#65 Wilson, LB

#66 Gibson RB, 103/436

#67 Okwara DE
