At this point in the season getting younger doesn't matter unless they're dumb enough to give him a multi year contract.

I’d be shocked if he signed a two-year deal unless next year is for the minimum, which I can’t imagine he would agree to at this point.

I’m not sure about that. He got $5M or so this year. It’s more than I expected him to get.

The rest I agree with. Just a weird situation down there.

I didn't realize or remember he had that much... I thought he was gonna end up re-signing with the Eagles for nominal money.

And what do all those picks have in common?

They were picked to back up OLD QBs

I think it's just a question of depth.  Howard may make sense as a practice squad/reserve player given Sanders' injury.

I don’t think he’s nearly as bad as he showed in Miami. Maybe he’s out of shape from a weird offseason? Maybe he never fit their scheme?

We know he fits here and is a better player than Clement and maybe even Scott. I think it’s a solid move.

Does that take a 7th round comp pick from us though?

I don't mind the Howard signing because this team needs to turn into a run-first team. So if they can string together games like they had against GB, BUF, and CHI last season it's a good move. It helps Wentz out and it takes the ball out his hands.

It's the PS. He gets like 12k a week for just the rest of this season.

Normally i would have said does it matter but then Jordan Mailata popped into my head.

It does not, and its even better, a 6th

There’s no downside at all to this move. We get an almost free look.

Elijah Holyfield must look terrible.

He was on the team long enough to count? I can’t remember how long a player needs to be on the roster. Sturgis got cut and cost us a pick one year.

And if another back is hurt, he adds depth.  He's certainly probably better at this point than Killens or Huntley.

Whether he's washed or not, I like the Howard signing because it HOPEFULLY shows were going to start pounding the rock more.

I don't know what the coaches ever saw in Holyfield to sign him last year and reportedly be enamored with him, but, he's probably the type of player who is going to look god awful in practice and only show something in a live game.

I don't understand the panic and negativity over the Jordan Howard signing at all.

New England had a super bowl roster so they could afford to take Jimmy g. Please show me where the eagles roster was anywhere close to what New England had when they drafted Jimmy G. Also brady was 37 years old. and Brady was 34 with mallet and again a super bowl roster so it was built up not like the eagles. brisset Brady was 39 and again super bowl roster. Like using the Patriots is the worst argument cause their roster for 2 decades was  that of a super bowl contender.

Rodgers is 36. Not 27 like wentz. Again packers have a super bowl roster. Hence they got to the NFC title game. And packers fans were furious they took Brian brohm at 56. I know my best friend is a packers fan and still ****es about it today and that blew up in their face as he stunk. So that was a wasted pick.  And 2008 was Rodgers first year starting so that draft they didn’t know if Rodgers was going to be as good as he turned out to be cause he had 0 career starts to that point in his career.

brees was 35 years old when Grayson was drafted and that pick turned out to be useless and a bust.

eli was 36 when they drafted Webb. And Webb wound up being a wasted pick as he wasn’t good and Eli played multiple more years

Big Ben was 36 when Rudolph was drafted.

again every one of your QBs you just mentioned was older not 27 except the one exception of brohm who it wound up being a bad pick. Also Patriots were a SB loaded roster every time they did it.

Yup. This season sucks and there is plenty to complain about. This isn’t one.

You have focused on first, second, and third round picks. Given 32 teams and 9 years of drafting over three rounds is approximately 864 selections (I'm ignoring comp picks). Citing a handful of examples out of 900 is hardly compelling.

We are tired of being negative about wentz, doug, the defense and reagor

Not only that every one of those he mentioned besides the brohm pick and that was cause Rodgers wasn’t a lock to be Aaron Rodgers in 2008 every QB was 34 and really 36 and older.

Stopping by to say, Fletcher Cox needs to take a massive pay cut or he needs to go. Not saying he's been terrible this season and I know he has an injury, but he as all the help in the world on the line with him and still isn't doing a whole lot.

Check his cap ramifications... he's not going anywhere any time soon.

He’s playing like a top-10 receiver so if his fans want to complain, I think they’ve earned that right.

Nah.  Speaking as the chairman of the Justin Jefferson bandwagon pre-draft.   It's a little early for any final analysis on Reagor versus Jefferson.  Everyone is a little upset with the way the season is going, but it's a little early for the ITYS in this situation.

It's rumored they took that rule out of the new CBA. I don't know how they would know for sure but the guy who runs the OTC chart says that rule is no more. Once they are signed they count no matter how long they are on.
