And we should have signed Chris Conley

Was he the Reuben Randle guy, or was it someone else?

I can’t remember the take he had & I wish I could but it was during the chip Kelly days and about the QB position. It was such a bad take though lol

I’ll pivot off the DK take and say it must be nice to trade for a DE at the deadline and have him actually play and contribute 2 sacks and 2 tfl’s without him having to learn a playbook for 12 months

Seattle games are so entertaining. I know this has been brought up & im not trying to start a discussion, but Still going to forever wonder what Andy Reid with Wilson could of been.

It’s an interesting thought. It might be very likely you wouldn’t see AR/Wilson but Chip/Wilson though.

You see most other teams give players an opportunity even if they're new additions or rookies.  The Eagles don't.

Sad but true when it’s a struggle to incorporate an 8 year vet into the offense

I saw a video from some rube with an Eagles YouTube channel saying there was rumor the Eagles would hire Lincoln Riley as head coach next season — apparently because he’s good friends with Howie Roseman.

I was most surprised at the development that Howie has a good friend ....

True. Who knows if Wilson could of played good enough to convince Eagles to keep Reid, and convince Reid to stay in Philly. That year was brutal with the OL injuries, but there were playmakers on offense. Who knows if Wilson could even of beat out Vick that year.

In fairness besides RB (some good and bad), OL and DL what positions have the eagles really drafted/evaluated and developed well? I’m hoping wallace pans out cause they haven’t drafted and developed a safety in what feels like over a decade

Feels like Quinton Mikel was the last, and technically, he was undrafted, so in truth, the last developed safety who was drafted, is BDawk in 1996. Hard to believe you have to go back that far. I suppose Michael Lewis was decent, but he wasn’t a long main stay himself.

Thats way too premature

It is.  But DK Metcalf is a lot closer to Calvin Johnson than Fulgham is to everything the board has called him...

Michael Lewis was an interesting fit it.  He played in the era when the balanced nfl was starting to transition to pass only.

At his best, he was a very important piece.  He was never great in coverage, but was a ss thumper.  That was necessary in a secondary that had 3 great cover guys that played behind a front 7 which was very bad against the run.

Long live Jim Schwartz

Yeah first time I’ve ever seen it in a game was in this Ari vs Sea game just now. I was always curious about what happens if you get offensive penalties on your own 1 yard line, got that one answered.

If the offensive penalty occurs in the end zone, it's a safety.  If the offensive penalty happens at the 1 yard line, its half the distance.

My understanding its only a holding call penalty that results in a safety, not any offensive penalty.

That's just silly.

Also intentional grounding I believe. That said what other offensive penalties could occur in the end zone?

Nate wasn't terrible and in fairness played for some pretty crappy DCs.

SECTION 29 - SAFETY

It is a Safety if the spot of enforcement for a foul by the offense is behind its own goal line, or if the ball is dead in possession of a team on or behind its own goal line when the impetus (3-17) comes from the team defending that goal line. https://operations.nfl.com/the-rules/2020-nfl-rulebook/#section-29-safety

My take is the same as @Iggles_Phan.  Holding only results in a safety if the holding occurs in the end zone.  Any penalty that is a spot foul could result in a safety.

Any offensive penalty with a live ball, and the ball/penalty happen in the end zone.   There aren't a lot of offensive penalties that can occur in the end zone though.  Grounding, holding, illegal use of the hands, chop block, facemask (if the offense ever has that called on them, seems they never do) and I suppose now the blindside block.    Illegal formations, false starts or anything else would be a 'pre-snap' penalty and result in half the distance.
