Right....people on here have been saying Press is too buddy-buddy with Wentz and too easy on him.  Maybe DP will get on him when he does something wrong during the game.

His ascent is inexplicable. What has he done other than suggest the Philly Special and rub Carson's shoulders when Flip yelled at him?

I’m all for someone new in his ear, just think Doug is already overwhelmed and is taking on more

With fewer offensive coaches for this game, it would streamline the inputs to Doug.  If this works well, it would be time to sideline some of the assistants for the rest of season.

Indiana win or lose is for real.  Gave Ohio St all they can handle.

Some of this is on Carson, some is on the play calling and some has to be on the o-line as well but I posted some WR stats the other day.

-Reagor (granted he was hurt) had his 55 yard catch in week 1.  Since then his long is 16 yards.   12 catches 159 yards, 1 TD

-Hightower has 2 long catches, 59 and 50 yards.  Hasn't caught a ball since week 7.  His next longest catch is 13 yards.   9 catches 166 yards

-Fulgham cooled off last week.  I need to see him have a big game this week.       30 catches 443 yards, 4 TDs

-Ward is what he is, a reliable yet underwhelming slot WR.  He's the least of my concerns because we know what he is.    37 catches 282 yards, 4 TDs

-Watkins doesn't have a catch.

That is anything but a low priority in my book.  They need help.  Leading up to the year we heard how Howie finally invested in WR because he took 3 in the draft.  There's investing and there's investing wisely.  They could draft 4 running backs all built like Pumphrey and you can say that's investing in RB but they all will suck.  Hightower and Watkins were shots in the dark.  Hightower might develop in to a #4 WR down the road but he's done nothing for me to say WR is set.  DJack, Alshon, Hightower, Reagor and JJAW have all missed games and Watkins hasn't been able to provide a single stat.  Again, I'm not getting excited about him and he's probably a PS player next year.

In a perfect world the Eagles need to draft a #1 WR.  A bonafide stud.  Reagor is your #2.  Fulgham can be a big bodied slot guy where he can create mismatches.  Ward and Hightower are your depth guys.

Our WR minus Alshon and DJack have 88 catches for 1050 yards totals and 9 TDs.

To put that in perspective:

DeAndre Hopkins has 72 catches for 912 yards with 4 TDs

Stefon Diggs has 73 catches for 906 yards and 4 TDs

DK doesn't have the catch volume with 48 catches but he has 862 yards and 9 TDs.  DK has as many TDs as our 4 "promising" WR.

Justin Jefferson has 42 catches for 762 yards and 3 TDs

Terry McLaurin 57 catches for 787 yards and 3 TDs

Robby Anderson (who we should have signed) has 64 catches for 772 yards but only 1 TD

I know those are the top dog WR but just showcasing the total production of 5 WR compared to legit WR.  It's actually pathetic.

WR is absolutely 100% a priority.  The only thing is that Howie has done such a poor job constructing this team that there are numerous priorities.  If they continued to play Mailata, we might get a better idea of where OT and OL is in general but they want him to learn from the sidelines.

They need to draft a CB2 who can be CB1 in 2 years because Slay isn't a long term answer here.  So again, they probably should add 2 good corners.  I've seen enough of Maddox

TE2, OLB, MLB, DE, DT, RB, C, OG are all other remaining needs and you can say they are all priorities.  This team is in bad shape moving forward if you step back and look at the big picture.

I’m talking priority relative to other positions. Before Fulgham emerged I was saying that WR is still as big of a need as it was going into the 2020 draft.  Now with Fulgham playing really well & Reagor showing he can be something, it’s moved down on the list a bit for the time being. I want to see how those 2 finish out the season, depending on that depends on how important the WR position becomes in offseason. But compared to DB & LB, WR isn’t as much of a priority right now.

Hopefully we'll see some 'big back' carries for Holyfield.  I just want to see what kind of power back he really is.  Of course, I'd much rather they just go ahead and bring in Najee Harris in the draft, but I doubt they will do that.   I'd settle for Kylin Hill.

And as crazy as drafting #19 would be... getting Davis there would be a HUGE feat.  Kid has top 5 potential, only thing holding him back is that he's an OG.

I'll be interested to see the dynamics between Pederson and Wentz tomorrow and how Carson to relates to the boss telling him what to do, rather than a coach/buddy

Well... no matter what happens in the game, the Eagles will remain in first place.

Chip Kelly keeps taking his mask off in the UCLA/Oregon game. They should consider suspending him for the rest of the season as punishment.

He's probably thinking I should have stayed at Oregon.

Pretty cool deal.

This time tomorrow the Blog will be pages and pages of:

A) fire Howie, fire Doug, trade Wentz, 3-12-1, terrible coaches, terrible players, terrible drafts, terrible owner .... or,

B) we beat CLE, big deal ... we screwed up our draft pick, they were injured, Wentz still sucks, they should have run more

Clifford shoulda tripped on grass farther away from that play. His pretend "effort" to try to tackle Nixon after the interception should be embarrassing.

I'm just hoping PSU losing out might be an end to Franklin.   I don't think it will though.

UCLA might come back & win this one

Lol guarantee there's going to be people saying we can still make it

Demetric Felton is another one who pissed me off staying in school last year. Nice game today.

Been a fan of Indiana's Philyor and Frygogle at WR. What an explosion for Fryfogle in the last 3 weeks. Now 2 in a row over 200 yards.

I hope he gets a sack tomorrow. Outside the benefit of it being a good play the takes will be off the chart

So you admit Metcalf is elite... that itself makes it at least somewhat comparable

Wasn’t the comp.

Wow. I wonder if he’s going to try to play in 3 weeks
