Wentz probably knows how a tackling dummy feels about now

Jalen Reagor went 4 for 52 on 5 targets today. He made 2 very good catches, including one on 4th down. He was open on multiple plays that we could see on the TV cop.

But yes, let's blame the 1st round pick.

I think he’s been fine, but not as explosive as thought.

Ward was a big part of the safety. He could have at least allowed that drive to start at the 5 instead of the 2.

He let the ball bounce at the 12.  He was standing right there.  He was 100% responsible for that field position.

And... they started, on average, at the 16 last game, mostly due to him.  He's killing them with terrible field position.  And when your offense is struggling, putting their backs against the wall continually makes it that much harder.

Hard to say if it’s him, the coaches or Wentz to be honest.

Extremely hard.

Thing is... That's damning on Fipp and these coaches too. After the ish show last week on STs how on earth have these issues carried over in to this game? The players either aren't listening or they don't care.

I’ve said this before — the ball needs to come out faster.

The Eagles said before the season started they were switching to a downfield passing game.  I welcomed that news like a lot of people did; I was hoping it meant a lot of the 2-yard pass plays were gone, as was trying to score TD drives of 16+ plays, like in 2018 and 2019.

The problem is, the OL has been a train wreck all season — there isn’t enough time consistently for the long developing plays to work.  Wentz 2020 looks like Andrew Luck 2015; the OL isn’t good enough to protect Wentz and he’s taking a beating, in addition to his own issues with inaccuracy.

5-step drop, get rid of it.  On time, on target, on script, on schedule.  If Wentz can’t or won’t do it, let him watch for a week and see if Hurts can.  Everyone is accountable; it doesn’t matter what their contract is.  The game planning on offense has been awful, the injuries have been crushing, Doug has never adjusted, and Wentz has played badly.

It all goes together, but isn’t as simple as "Wentz, bad player”

Doug doesn't call quick plays. He likes slow developing plays where Wentz has to drop back and get killed because the Oline can't block

Runs, rollout, quick passes and then blockem up and throw deep some. Throw in some jetsweeps. Design some bubble screens for Reagor

You should put in your resume

Yup.   Every single one of those WR screens should be for Reagor, and its criminal that they aren't.   It is equally criminal that they keep throwing Ward out there at PR.  Literally having NO ONE back would be better because at least then you could threaten a punt block.

Maybe Fipp needs to go too

Outside shot at Justin Fields is our only hope

So you're plan is to draft a QB in the 1st round while paying a ton of money to Wentz sitting on the bench?

You missed the point.

Stefanski asked Mayfield to do almost nothing today and the Browns got a win.  Pederson continues to do nothing but ask Wentz to stand in the pocket and give the ball away 2-3 times every week.

Yeah, might as well try more rollouts. Still the OL is an abomination, a trainwreck if you will.

I think Wilson & Lance would be more likely. Jax, Jets maybe Cowboys are ahead of us for the top two. Wentz's contract is barely dry too with a ton of money that would be dead cap. I can't see going QB round 1

That one in the endzone should have been a PI

Yup. Add a punt returner to the offseason grocery list.

We have been a train wreck with rollouts, at least from under center.

Or they don’t have other options.

So is Issac now the only starter that's healthy on Oline?

So do we put that on Fulgham or Wentz? Do we say Fulgham is going to struggle because he can't get separation? Or Wentz can't hit him accurately enough because Fulgham is a possession receiver so separation isn't his thing?

17 minutes ago, ManuManu said:

You’re right about the screens. I don’t have a problem with Ward back there with our current roster. We don’t have another PR besides Reagor, and I don’t want him returning punts. I want his entire focus on WR.

I don't care.  Ward is hurting the entire team back there.. or go find an old guy that can fair catch just to keep this field possession from being worse.

Agreed. And he dropped some tough catches too.

I'm not sure options come in to it? Ward should not be letting the ball bounce if he can help it. That's just asking for trouble. I mean that shouldn't take a lot to figure out for him.

I think he's just coming down to Earth

I’m afraid that may be the case.

I think it's a mixture of both right? Jeffrey has struggled more with Wentz than having much success. Fulgham is in that similar mould as Jeffrey. Possession receiver that needs to be given a chance to make the play. Not something Wentz does well.

Ive noticed over the last 2 weeks that every one of his targets creates a level 10 degree of difficulty catch. Thats tough, but his magic has worn off. Hes not making any miracle grabs at all. And apparently not really getting very open either.

He probably just needs more time but who knows... maybe it'll be another Ward situation where he does well until defenses start paying attention and it turns out he's just JAG

Can’t have it both ways though. When Fulgham was the talk of the town, Wentz was his QB then as well.
