They can't keep compounding wasteful investments though.  Lane is untradeable for 3 years.  We really are not in a position to draft someone to be a RT 4 years from now.

RG...I think Brooks is likely gone after 2021, so 1 year isn't too long to ride the pine for a rookie.  But a 1st or 2nd round guard?  They should be playing immediately.

My hope for the future is LT Dillard, RT Mailata, but that's mostly wishful thinking.  Mailata has really struggled lately and the coaches now refuse to use him.  Dillard's question marks are already well-discussed.  It just would be nice to have at least a few key positions with solutions moving forward.

Seemed like he had an off game in the Giants and then they just put Peters in when he was healthy

Sometimes it feels like Doug doesn't have a clue as to which players on our own team are better than the others

It's really looking like Doug is clueless out there. Not sure if he's got too many opinions but that's his fault for having a committee of OCs instead of 1.

No reason why Doug can’t use the same logic for Wentz here as far as benching goes. If Hurts looks like trash, you give him his job back.

So because the Dolphins are doing something then we should too?

We’re still in first. So obviously everything is fine.

He wont be able to use that excuse next week lol

nope.  Still in first place. It just is a bad look, and could lead to a 25 year curse... (see also Phillies, Philadelphia - 1983.)

Barring a Chip Kelly-style confrontation I don't see anyone getting fired before the end of the season, if at all. Though Jim Schwartz' contract is up at the end of the year so he probably won't be back.

I don't really about production on punt returns in this lost season.  I'm more concerned about Reagor's development.  I wanted him to be an advanced, #1 WR running all the routes at X.  He needs a lot of schooling for that.  So forcing him to learn something else he's uncomfortable with is just a load that I don't think is worth strapping on to him.

At this point it's not about production from the punt returner, its to avoid gross incompetence.  Ward continually puts this team in bad positions with his poor decision making... and is compounding the issues offensively.

What about the conspiracy theories that some lineup decisions are being dictated to Doug?  I don't know what to believe, but I do think that there is likely some very interesting discord behind the scenes.

For one...they forced Doug to fire assistants he wanted to keep.  But if you are going to force him to do that...then WHY do you give him full freedom to create a jacked up nontraditional, bloated coaching structure as a replacement?

Too many voices in his ear shouldn't matter if you're smart enough to be able to tell which voices you should listen to and which you shouldn't.

No one deserves to be fired mid-season besides Peters.

I'm fine with not retaining Schwartz; fresh air would be nice on defense.  But people radically overemphasize the culpability the defense has in the problems this year.  Our defense is average.  Teams win the SB with comparably average defenses.

Then Doug needs to quit. He's the freaking coach

If I were Lurie, I would be pretty upset right now. He is paying Rich and Marty money to help improve the offense and this offense is terrible. The first move should be to can those guys, even if it isn't their fault.  It's just a waste of money. Hire an OC and Lurie needs to tell Doug that he might want to consider delegating playcalling responsibilities because if things continue then changes will have to be made.

so for like the 10 game now, with a struggling oline, and wrs who need time to get open, Doug calls like 1 maybe 2 qb roll outs.

when we should be calling 2 maybe 3 a series to keep the dline from just attacking the pocket.

Doug, thanks for the SB win, we loved you for it, but between your bad situational play calling and your insistance out of loyalty to play veteran guys who are actually hurting the team over younger players (peters, alshon examples) its time you go. You, And the Schwartz need to become distant memories. Like the sooner the better

BTW... Can Joe Buck stop anointing players to the Hall of Fame?   Philip Rivers is a Hall of Famer now?   Not so sure about that.  0 Super Bowls.  Not a great record in playoff games overall.   Played in a little market without a big following.   These things matter... and frankly, he's been overrated for a long time. He's a stat accumulator... but I don't think he's a lock for the Hall.

At least one of the following should be fired tomorrow:

Doug Pederson

Marty Morhinweg

Press Taylor

Rich Scangarello

Agreed.  The defense holds strong to start nearly every game and looks to 'belong'.  The offense is the albatross they are carrying.   Outside of the Rams' game, I don't think the defense has been awful.  They haven't been good, but not terrible either.  Parts of the defense have been terrible though.

Clean sweep sounds good to me.

Yes, but what about reproductive output?

Scangarello has been a disaster, at least from afar. We have gotten nothing out of our under center PA game. That was the whole point of being him in.

fo and coaches have to go, this team needs a new direction. if lurie doesnt do that, then all the money is going down the drain for the next 5 years.

You start with Rich and Marty. That whole consultant...no OC approach was a disaster from the outset. Streamline it down.  It's like when you order a pizza, the more people you have...the harder it is to order toppings that everyone can agree upon.   I think Press needs to be gone after the season. I don't think you are going to find a decent QB coach right now.

Good week for us, though, with Dallas and Washington winning. And it appears as of now that we didn’t have any major injuries.

I’m not sure why we would considering it’s been pathetically bad this season.

Saw this on facebook. First other person Ive seen picking up on my theory
