What tunnel vision?

Your a Wentz hater and ignore literally everything else. it's embarrassing

Actually, I was likely the only person standing up for Wentz yesterday during the game, go back and take a look.

And I'll say it for the 7th or 8th time and I will continue to say it to get it through your thick heads.  If Wentz is not the issue, it will be evident if the offense looks the same with Hurts under center.  It really is that simple.

For the record, I’m fine with Davion Taylor playing through the mistakes, but he’s going to be an absolute liability and disaster out there.

So pretty much the same as what Gerry was before he got hurt.

Yeah I agree though I don't think there's any issue with letting Taylor play and taking his lumps. That's to be expected given he was very much a developmental pick. The issue i have is more with the pick but that's by the by now.

He's a terrible player with potential to be JAG but fast.  He has no business being on the field.  Such a terrible draft pick when there were real linebackers on the board.

there are a lot of problems but it starts with him. He's the architect of this whole mess and he must answer for it. Howie Hubris must go!

I'm in disbelief. I don't know what he has seen from Alshon that makes him think he belongs on the field at all, let alone having him more involved in the game plan. This is borderline negligence.

To be fair, I think he was mostly talking out of his ass. His answer to almost everything was "I need to get x more involved". He also said before the week Alshon would get more playing time but he took a pretty big drop from last week, 18 snaps vs 5 yesterday.

Maybe we can get something through your thick head. Hurts is not ready to quarterback in the nfl can you see?

For those of us who want to tank (most of us?), keeping Wentz over Hurts is the way to go. It's not going to get better.

Frankly, I also don't want to expose Hurts to this mess.

BTW... I am still against tanking, despite knowing its the best thing for this team in the long run.  The only difference for me is that I wasn't angry with the loss yesterday... but I was still hoping they'd find a way to win.  I want to see the team play well... There's a finite number of Eagles' gamedays in my life, and I want to enjoy as many of them as I can.

I hope you're right.

Makes sense, I've asked you a dozen questions and you cant answer one.

I don't necessarily disagree that the team has issues other than Wentz.  That's never been my point.  My point is that as an organization you need to see what the offense looks like with a different QB.  Especially this type of offense and system.  That's how you begin to determine what state the offense is in, the coaching, etc, etc.

Nope. Just don’t think it’s necessary to celebrate being bad. Which we are.

It is either be really bad or stuck in purgatory for next few years. Good enough to compete but realistically have zero shot at a ring.

So there goes our 2nd best CB

For sure. I'm done with Howie. One of the most damning stories to emerge, but one that has received little attention, is the process surrounding the drafting of Dillard. The Eagles admitted that they did no homework on Dillard because they did not expect him to be available. Well, he was and was selected without due diligence. Whether Dillard turns out to be a good player or not is besides the point. How can a first round pick be treated in such a slipshod manner?

In Howie's defense (last time you'll hear me use those words), some of the contracts are not necessarily bad decisions, but just turned bad.  The Cox extension needed to be done, but it's officially a bad contract now.  The Wentz extension was not unreasonable, but again, that's a horrible contract now.  Lane Johnson...good decision, but we've entered the bad years and his contract is another liability.

Alshon, Malik Jackson, Brandon Brooks, Desean Jackson...yes, already Hargrave...all horrible decisions.

The real concern now is that Howie will kick the can further down the road to 2023 and beyond with restructuring some of these deals.  Some of these guys can still play...but that is overshadowed by their contracts.  ALL OF THESE CONTRACTS need to wash off the books.  All of them.  They won't have the flexibility to rebuild until that happens.

The Cox contract didn't need to be restructured again though.

Alshon - awful contract, compounded by his stupid restructure to kick the can further down the road.
Desean - awful...
Brooks was just a risky move, not a particularly good one.

But the issue isn't just the contracts themselves, but the structure he used.  He bloated a lot of these contracts with empty years and spread the signing bonuses out... which was nice for the very very short term, but will become a massive issue moving forward.  These are going to hurt badly.  And there's not really anything they can do, but take it on the chin.   And having Howie around will likely mean more can kicking... so they need to replace him so that he can't do more harm.  Only New Orleans is in worse shape, and only the Rams are in the same shape.  Both are competing for the playoffs.  Eagles aren't. They might back in by mistake, but they aren't competing for the playoffs.   Howie needs to be removed before he can make it worse as they look to bring in youth.  And his drafting has been horrible... see my post earlier from 2014 - current.  Brutal.

A player they traded up to get.

Maybe he's not.  Then put Sudfeld in.  My point is that you need to see what this offense looks like with a different QB under center when your current QB is performing among the bottom 2-3 QB's in the entire NFL.  That's how you begin to gauge if there are severe issues with the rest of the offense and/or coaching or if it's mostly a QB issue or if it's a combination of both.

You and I have gone rounds on many different things, but I 100% agree with you on this.  Jalen Hurts is not going to fix the offense.  The scheme and play calling are the major problems.  Yes, I expect a franchise QB to overcome SOME of these issues on his own, but it is dysfunctional across the board.   Can not start the better players, can not call plays that are successful, can not stick with what is working.

I still don't want to and I'm a fan. The absolute best thing for this team is for someone to unlock the key to 2017 Wentz and I would gladly even take later part of 2019 Wentz.

Yup.

I don't think tanking is the answer either.  The reality is if they make the playoffs they have to win more games. I don't see them winning any more games.  They just are a bad team.  They are poorly coached and playing poorly.  I just expect them to lose out at this point. I could see them pulling off a win against the Redskins.  I can't see them winning any of the other games barring some drastic injuries to other teams.  I mean maybe all of the Seahawks starting offense will catch Covid on Saturday but I somehow doubt that's the case.  Not that I would wish that on them or anyone else.

I have no idea how that happens other than the GM isn't doing his job. How can anybody put a draft board together with no information on prospects? It's embarrassing enough to warrant immediate termination. What happens to Howie though? He enjoys his promotion and pay raise.

Howie acts as though he's untouchable and maybe he is. If that's the case, then Jeffrey Lurie is the problem and that would be the worst possible situation.

You don't "need" to make a switch to see who's fault it is that the offense stinks. That is what film is for. Coaches should be able to figure out what the problems are on offense and if they can't then guess who needs replaced? You don't blindly go from player to player trying to figure out who is at fault on offense. Completely ridiculous.
