I think we're in agreement more than you think. I never thought much of either Pryor nor Mailata despite all the rosy impressions that were dripping out of the team's PR machine the last couple years. Which is precisely why I understood and agreed with the rationale to bring in JP to play RG after Brooks went down, and then shuffling him back to LT once Dillard went down too.

Agree about Pryor, disagree about Mailata.

He was a 7th rnd pick so you're not losing much if he flops. They were also able to stash him on IR for 2 years so he didn't count against the 53. AND he still may be a servicable back up tackle.

I remember him coming in as OT, his college position, and immediately switching to DE. I don't remember them trying him just because he was so undersized, but I could be wrong.

I'm pretty sure you're right.

What about Brandon Graham?

Any update on #99 from yesterday?

Well, it was a trash can flipped upside down, so maybe it was really just Jamon Brown?

Jumped the gun and forgot about him, but he's practicing

Interesting that Jeremy Chinn played OLB for the Panthers. He reportedly was one of our targets in Round 2.

Carolina has had success converting college safeties to LB (Thomas Davis). That does actually make some sense given how Chinn plays.

I'm sure the injury history scared us off.

I wonder what they argue about in Detroit and Cleveland?

I’m curious if that’s the route we would have gone too. He and Davion Taylor are somewhat similar prospects as LBs.

What exactly has he been given that haven't shown positive results??

2013 - Lane Johnson - 1st round, arguably best RT in the league.

2014 - no OL drafted

2015 - no OL drafted

2016 - Seumalo -3rd round, average to above average G. Vaitai - 5th round. Quality 6th man, cashed in FA.

2017 - no OL drafted

2018 - Pryor - 6th round, backup, could be argued a miss. Mailata - 7th round, complete lottery you can't say is a miss.

2019 - Dillard - 1st round, Unknown.

2020 - Driscoll, 4th round. Unknown, promising start in a season with no OTA's and modified TC. Wanogho - 6th round. Unknown.

The rest are UDFA guys like Herbig, Opeta etc etc.

Look at the guys he's inherited.

Evan Mathis - journeymen, became all pro in 2013, pro bowler in 2013/2014

Kelce - Only All pro's 2017/2018/2019. Only pro-bowls 2014, 2016, 2019

Peters - is Peters. Not much to debate with him.

Warmack - sucked

Wisniewski - average.

So because he couldn't coach up an inherited bust in Warmack and a 6th round pick, he sucks now? Your expectations are completely unrealistic.

I made this argument last week. I think stoutland is a great coach. However he’s not a miracle worker. You can’t give him guys who are just not talented enough and ask him to make them good. Frankly i don’t think herbig is talented enough. And really never thought pryor was anything more than a fringe backup. Vaitai had more talent when he was draft imo than pryor. He’s not going to make a turd into gold. He can make guys who have talent play and achieve success due to his coaching and them having talent. If you don’t have The talent his coaching can only go so far

If Odell is more turned on by solid stools or the runs

So I thought Nate Gerry played decently Sunday. Thoughts?

Stafford isn't good enough, should've drafted Tua, refs are the worst, etc

Yes. And as much fun as it is to dog on Chip Kelly, you have to put it into perspective. He came out of the army super lean. He had to gain weight just to get up to 250 for TC. After he was cut, Steelers took him as a lottery ticket that turned out to be a jackpot. He gained another 90 pounds and was able to keep his athleticism to play LT. I'm not really sure how anyone can say its an easy bet to convert him to T without using hindsight.

I’m actually a little surprised (Not overly) when The cardinals released Toth this year that the eagles didn’t try to sign him to their practice squad and work with him. They liked him last year and wanted to put him on their practice squad when the cardinals claimed him. I’d have like to see stoutland work with him. It’s unfortunately he went to the cardinals cause their oline coaching isn’t good.

Kevorkian was from metro Detroit, oddly enough!

I think he was alright. Definitely wasn’t getting run over in the run game every play

I thought the defense was bad on the drive where Washington took a 24-17 lead. Had a chance to Get off the field limiting the damage on 3rd and 8 and 3rd and 9 and failed to do so. That was reminiscent of The past couple seasons.

All I remember is the one play he got outrun to the outside and he quit on the play...stopped chasing...no bueno on a bunch of levels. I am surprised he wasn't benched!

I missed that one I guess. I saw him blow up a receiver on a screen on 1 play and I saw a decent stop on a running back for a minimal gain
