I left the last spot blank for their 5th choice they inevitably sign.

That team was also exciting to watch.  Big plays from offense, defense and even ST.  Just a complete team... top to bottom.  Howie really did hit on everything that offseason.  I think every free agent they added had a significant role in the success.  But since then, I think he's whiffed on just about every other move.

Yup. Aside from Chance Warmack, Howie had the Midas touch. It’s just a shame it was a 1 year illusion.

I wish they would dump that one from the filter. Who cares if people want to say that?

Excellent article.  It looks like there is broadening realization that the Eagles drafting and personnel decisions have led to where they are... the coaching stinks too, but the roster and draft decisions have been bottom of the league for some time.

its time for change.

No, the TATErs are the ones who think top coaching candidates will willingly choose to hitch their wagon to Wentz.  Best case is they tell Lurie from the jump they'll give him a short leash, but if he doesn't figure it out quick they're empowered to dump him.

If Lurie insists on the new coach making it work with Wentz, he'll have to move onto Tier C or D candidates before finding someone willing to go along.

No, the Taters are the ones that aren't smart enough to figure out that a real coach will assume the power to take on and make these decisions after they get here. I'll repeat no NFL coach is not going to take on a job because of who the quarterback is.

I think Ward and Fulgham give effort every play.  Reagor is banged up and Hightower is what he is.  DJax was giving what he had when he got sucker punched.

That wasn't what I asked. When was the last time you saw that kind of effort from an Eagle's receiver.

No, most people in the coaching world, except for the select few big brand names, would crawl all over themselves for a crack at one of the 32 NFL HC jobs.  And they'd be happy to take a crack at salvaging Wentz' impressive arm talent.

But anyone worth their salt and capable of thinking a few moves in advance would also be sure to disconnect their job security from the outcome of their little Wentz salvage project when they discuss their plans with Lurie.

If they are only here to fix Wentz at all costs, then no, this isn't a good job.

I can agree with this. But I doubt any coach would accept a job that they weren't given full control on who plays and who doesn't. And I doubt anyone would offer them a job where they have to save Wentz at all costs.

That filter honestly needs to go.

How many WR screens to Ward have there been?

How ever many the answer is, is also that many too many

They threw the ball to him in open space against the Cowboys and he jogged out of bounds.

Also, I dislike the plays where we run Reagor from one side of the field through the backfield in motion and back to the other side. All it does is exhaust him before the snap.

Then he needs to work on cardio

Even Peter King is calling for Wentz to be benched.

Well now I won't be able to sleep at night knowing that.

On the old board years ago it got annoying literally every tater would use that on anyone that was remotely positive about the team during the Reid era. Now there really isn't a reason on the new boards.

Agree anyone that says they won't coach here because of Wentz is probably a tater

I don''t think a coach would say anything like that.  But I'm sure there's coaches that would refuse to automatically name Wentz the starter.  It's all a moot point anyway because Pederson isn't going anywhere.

We know you're an uber Wentz hater, and like I mentioned before, I think I know why.

With that being said, the same "alpha" mentality that makes a coach a coach, is the same mentality that makes Wentz the hands down, guaranteed starter day 1.

Every coach sees an MVP candidate that they can become the hero if they fix him.

*IF* Doug gets fired, Hurts is gone and the coach is putting all his eggs in the Wentz basket. **AND** if said coach gets rid of JP, has a ton of designed roll outs and sticks with the run game this team will be just fine.

Lol no.  Any coach foolish enough to stick "all his eggs in the Wentz basket” will be fired within two years.

NFL coaches aren’t green tinted glasses wearing TATEr homers.  This thread is the last place in the world you can still find people who believe in Carson Pyrite lol.

If Leftwich or B.A. coached the Eagles, we'd also be 7-4.

Totally disagree with this.  Tons of respect for Arians as a coach, but Tampa is a far better and more talented team at this point.  If Arians or anyone else coached the Eagles you might be talking about an additional win, not a total reversal of the record.

Anyone who is thinking the Eagles are really talented and just need better coaching is in for more disappointment.

I love how this roll outs thing has become the answer. It’s not a play that is suppose to be called more than 3-4 times a game at most. You can only roll out a QB that’s right handed to the right and it takes away the whole left side of the field. If you do it over and over there is going to be someone in the QBs face every time. It’s a trick the defense type play.

Most plays where a QB leaves the pocket aren’t designed that way. Wentz isn’t doing that this year. He is just standing there holding the ball in the pocket till he gets hit.

I'd fully expect a Lincoln Riley/Joe Brady/[insert creative young offensive mind here] type of hire.

Cant we just give a 1st rounder to the Colts for the rights to Frank and his coaching staff? Would be the best trade we ever made.

We bring in Riley and the Hurts talk gets even stronger and the Wentz haters will be blowing a load of joy juice all over their laptops.

Totally false on the bolded part. We've seen right handed QB's roll out left plenty of times with success.

As far as rolling out a lot, no it's not something you want to be doing a ton of but you can do it far more then Doug calls especially when your oline and QB are struggling. Doug only calls it once or twice a game FFS!

When they are scrambling. Coaches aren’t going to willingly roll their right handed QB to the left.

Again the amount that Doug is doing that is fine. Carson has the ability to scramble out and extend the play. He is sitting in the pocket or scrambling up the middle. That’s what you should be complaining about.

BS it does happen. It's happened here with Doug and Carson and it's been successful.

So besides Doug being dumb can anyone explain to me why on Sunday when the run is clearly working we move away from it?

They thought Sanders could learn more about the passing game by watching it from the sidelines.

Ill concede that it does happen. Outside of Kirk Cousins and Jimmy Garropolo it has a less that 50% success rate though. Not exactly the answer.

Baker "rolled out" 13 times against us sunday

Goff rolled out over 10 times( I fell asleep).

Mahomes must of done it 10-15 times

But sure man, 3-4 times got it lol

Can we please end this narrative?

I think part of it is Doug being hellbent on trying to get Wentz to pass his way out of the funk he’s in.

Very good point and it could be but he's likely making it worse and costing us games in the mean time.
