Decent insight here.  Basically says that the Eagles "should know" behind the scenes what the issue with Wentz and/or the offense is.

Seems to allude to what I've been saying all along that Wentz has some sort of "underlying injury" that is affecting his performance this year.

"The Eagles should know"....hilarious

If they knew they would have hopefully done something about it.  The precise issue is that they clearly dont know how to fix any of those issues mentioned (coaching, injury, supporting cast, OL, etc)

And sure. I can almost guarantee Wentz has an injury, he gets hit too often to not have an injury

That doesnt explain why he looks extremely uncomfortable in this offense and the offense itself is a failure.

Maddox sucks.

I haven't rewatched the game on the all-22 but there was one play where Seumalo was uncovered on a pass play and pulled and set up to block outside right. I believe it was right after Driscoll came in. I don't think I've ever seen that before.

Criticise the play-calling all you want, but Stoutland is still doing cool stuff.

Howie Roseman lost Tommy Lawlor and AustinFan.

Pack it up.

McCarthy canceled his press conference also. Something big happened.

As far as drafting Taylor in the late 3rd, it's easy to draft competent but limited LBs, we have two in Edwards and Singleton, it's harder to find above average LBs after the first 50 picks or so, Taylor was a bet on upside, Bradley is more your athletic late rd pick who starts on STs and hopefully develops over a few years. Problem wasn't those picks, it was the lack of talent in front of them, these are the kinds of players you marinate for a couple years - but blame Hicks, if he was durable, he's be the MLB and solidify the group. You pay anchor players, not guys who spend half the season on IR each year.

No on so many levels.

They are relying on Edwards and Singleton who were UDFA and a CFL signing because they don't value LB.  If they valued LB, they could have brought Hicks back.  I don't think it had anything to do with his durability.  It may have been part of the equation but the bottom line is they don't pay linebackers.  He got a nice contract in AZ and the Eagles weren't about to spend that much money.  They even could have brought Kendricks back despite his legal issues (he still hasn't had anything happen to him).  The only thing they've done right is letting Bradham walk away.

When a team doesn't value a position it also tells me they don't know how to use the best players they have, coach them up so they progress and get better or even bring in players who will fit the system.  Think about it.  They drafted Nate Gerry, a safety, in the 5th round,  only to try and bulk him up to play MLB.  He somehow got worse in coverage and never learned how to play LB.  They invested almost 4 years in to this guy and he's pure trash.  Not only did they fail to coach him up to be better but they also thought he was the best option to start last year and this year.  It's been beaten to death but they brought in LJ Fort, who doesn't fit a 4-3, cut him and now he's thriving with the Ravens on top of a new contract extension.  The guy they signed this year away from the Chargers retired before the season even began so there's another fail at addressing LB.

So heading in to the draft we had TJ Edwards (UDFA), Nate Gerry (5th rounder who was cut then a PS call up), Duke Riley (trade, ST player) and Alex Singleton (CFL signing).  THAT'S IT.

There answer to strengthen the position was to draft a project in the 3rd and ST player in the 6th.

Nothing about the Taylor draft pick says he has any chance of being above average in Philly.  He is set up to fail here.  He will be a fast Nate Gerry.  They can't coach LB.  They just can't.  So why should we think that a team who failed to develop Gerry  is now going to magically know how to coach Taylor to learn how to play LB...and those are the scouts words when he was drafted.  Great athletic ability who is going to have to learn how to play LB in the NFL.  The Eagles don't have the luxury of having good linebackers in front of him to learn from or good coaching to teach him how to play.  We are seeing that play out now.

Davion Taylor via The Draft Network:

Davion Taylor is a space defender who should bring the needed burst and range to the NFL to challenge for a rotational role. Taylor does not possess a lot of experience as a JUCO transfer with 2 years at the FBS level and understandably is raw from a mental processing perspective. Taylor will need to be utilized in a specific role to protect him as an undersized defender but he does offer some potential upside as an athlete on special teams coverage units as well.

NFL COMPARISON- DUKE RILEY

Akeem Davis-Gaither is going to be a better NFL linebacker and he was taken 4 spots after Taylor.

I don't have a problem with the Bradley pick.  He was a 6th rounder and THAT is where you find your ST players.  Not the 3rd round.  Anything he brings to the table on the defensive side of the ball is a bonus.  He can you a core ST guy and contribute on defense when called upon as a role player/reserve.

This team has so many problems from talent evaluation to coaching you don't even know where to begin.  Good players make average coaches look better and good coaches should get the most out of their players.  The Eagles seem to lack both.  We just have coaches who refuse to adjust their schemes to fit the players they have and we have players who have no reason to be starting in the NFL.

One more draft complaint.  The day after the draft a lot of the media was touting Howie as this genius who can work his way up and down the draft board because of trades he made on day 3.  https://www.nbcsports.com/philadelphia/eagles/2020-nfl-draft-how-howie-roseman-trade-draft-picks

The Cowboys drafted Tyler Biadasz who was starting at center and playing well for them.  They are pretty excited about his future to lock down the middle of their O-Line in Dallas.

That trade turned into Shaun Bradley, Prince Tega Wanogho and Casey Toohill for the Eagles.  Toohill was cut so he's out of the equation.  So,  would you rather have your Jason Kelce replacement or a ST linebacker a PS tackle?

Another example of poor drafting.

The real question is whether he thinks Wentz should be benched:ph34r:

Nope, luckily it is not him.  They are saying strength and conditioning coach.

To cancel an entire practice and PC two days before a game, its someone big.

We specialize in paying guys who spend half the season on IR.

Well he was good when they didn't throw his way.

Singleton is playing better than I expected him to.  He's definitely outplaying Gerry.  Yet, Schwartz is hesitant to compliment him?  I'd like to see his quotes defending Gerry after a crap game compared to his quotes about Singleton after a good game.

The Eagles need a new coaching staff — top to bottom

Just heard a snippet from Doug on NFLN — "It’s all coach and QB in Philly; everything else just goes to the wayside” — clueless

Could just be that we've become used to crap for so long that we're treating average or even below average very high

Oh no we are.  I've been very vocal about the trash we have at linebacker for a while.  I just had a 4 paragraph post earlier today about it.

Singleton is playing well but in reality, he's JAG.  He's made some nice plays but someone has to make tackles.  The only reason he's starting is because Gerry is hurt.  That's not saying Gerry is better it's just the reality of how this team views their LBs.

Edwards and Riley are JAGs too while the rookies have JAG potential.  It's pathetic.

I truly think they could bring in 5 linebackers off the street and we would see the same production.

Talent evaluation (or politics) is a problem.  Gerry could never have a game like Singleton just had, yet watch them put Gerry back in there once he is healthy.

Nah — Doug is gone before Howie.  If he thinks Lurie would fire Howie today, then bring Doug in for a sit down to put him on notice?  That’s delusional.  Lurie already had to mandate that Doug fire some assistants — that’s already been done.

Have to remember, this is a work environment before it’s a family.  If Howie feels his job is in jeopardy, the head coach goes first.  Howie is the one that has 1-on-1 talks with Lurie, not Doug.  That’s just how business works.

Funny how we were saying this about WR just last year

We can still say that about the WRs these last few games and most of the year.

We also have Jags at corner wide receiver and running back. This team doesn't value good players at any position.
