Paul Hornung?

I was thinking it had to be someone from that era. Was the first person i came up with too. Wouldn’t be shocked if it were him

Said it before and took a lot of flack for it.

McVay is upper echelon of coaching, and is a way better offensive mind than Doug

So what happens if The Bench Wentz, but then Doug calls the game correctly. you know sticking with the run game. Roll outs, sprint outs, etc.

McVay is a good coach.  He crapped the bed in the Super Bowl and was unable to adjust his game plan.  Right now he has a team that is winning largely because they have the best defense in the league.  They have been above average on offense but not top 5 this season despite their talent, lack of injuries at key positions and consistency at QB.  There's some things I would like about McVay over Pederson but if Pederson has a good OC, I think he's a more aggressive coach that can win a big game.

If they do that, I will lose my ish.  He has been way better than Gerry

I’m not shocked by anything the eagles do. So i totally expect gerry to be inserted back in and Schwartz say singleton refused to cut his hair which was slowing him down so we think he needs to watch from the sidelines for a while.

Could also make the case for Seth Joyner too.

Criminally Underrated.

Idk i think Goff holds mcvay back from what he really wants to do with that offense. I think he’s smart where he molded the offense with Goff’s strengths in mind so he would have success. To me if he had a better QB we’d see the rams offense look differently.

You can say that again.  Just look at these numbers.

3× Pro Bowl (1991, 1993, 1994)

2× First-team All-Pro (1991, 1993)

Second-team All-Pro (1992)

Super Bowl champion (XXXIII)

Philadelphia Eagles 75th Anniversary Team

Philadelphia Eagles Hall of Fame

Career NFL statistics

Sacks:52

Interceptions:24

Fumble recoveries:9

Touchdowns:5

That's possible.  I do think Goff is a very good QB.

I think he’s an above average QB that mcvay plays to what he does well and limits the amount of decisions to maximize him.

Couldn't be before that era... because there was no Super Bowl.

Tony Dorsett - 1976
Marcus Allen - 1981
Tim Brown - 1987 (got a Super Bowl on tail end of his career with the Bucs in 2004).

So, technically, Tim Brown was the last, though he wasn't much of a contributor to that team.  But, seems there's only 5 that did it.

LeBlanc to IR.  21-day period open for Avery.  Forgot he was even on the team.

So did the coaching staff.

Does he still need to be in Goff's ear until the mic shuts off?

Wow, Jason Peters was so bad on the safety.

Putting in Hurts would make some on the team step up and take notice, but it's more of a band aid than anything else.  It won't fix JP, nor the play calling nor the other endemic issues such as little invested into LBs, wasted picks at CB and a cap position that is a shocker.  And the players gutting it out and playing while injured.

And frankly, seeing how Wentz has regressed, how do we know that the same coach that allowed that to happen is suddenly all over Hurts and he is ready?

As an aside, apologies if anyone is a realtor, but is there a profession more full of BSers and shysters out there?  I have just remembered why I haven't moved for 15 years. Just wow 😄

Stale route combos will make Seattle 2020 look like Seattle 2013

Bold prediction, if Carson Wentz is benched, this will be the result of the Jalen Hurts start.

I don't know if that's bold at this point.

Yes, having your elite QB retire randomly will drop you from a 5 to a 16th offense lol

It's hysterical that people are still giving Doug credit

2017 was a Defilip/Reich production

2018 they fell off.

2019 was average AF

and now in 2020 their dog poop.

IF it's true that Doug sucks and 2017 was solely due to Reich and Flip, that still doesn't absolve your boy Carson.  He hated Flip and vetoed him coming back, instead wanting his binky Press Taylor who coddles him like a friend instead of riding him like a coach.  And we all see the result in Wentz' piss poor mechanics.

@Arsenal79 question for you.  Let's say for the sake of argument the Eagles bench Wentz at half time Monday night, and then Hurts comes in, takes multiple sacks, turns the ball over, and looks the same or worse than Wentz.  Who would be to blame ??

Gee how nice of you to give Jalen Hurts one half while you apologists have given Carson Wentz 10 games to stink out the joint while still coddling him and making nonstop excuses.  Such a fair premise.

Wentz is proven to suck this year.  As for Hurts, it would take far more than one half to get a read on him.

Lets say he starts with a week of prep and the same happens ??  You gonna blame the coaching, game planning and play calling ??

Remember, we are talking about a guy that has put the ball on the ground 20% of the time he has touched it.

Wrong.

Our OL is made to look bad because theyre a bunch of JAGs and can't block anyone.

Kelce had two fumbles credited to Wentz from snapping it at his ankles.  Is that Wentz' fault?

Wentz tried to throw a comeback to Fulgham who ran a horrible route and it was almost another pick 6.  Is that Wentz' fault?

Everyone has a hand in this failure.  Sometimes they're not excuses, they're just reasons

Like I said, you never run out of excuses for your boy Carson.  The dude has TWENTY FOUR ints and fumbles in just 10 games.  You've managed to find a few plays that could be blamed on others.  So I'm sure you'll find excuses for the remaining dozens of terrible plays shortly.

Who to blame depends on what happens.  It's not happening anyway.  You'll get your wish to see Carson flush this entire season for us.  The silver lining is he's guaranteed at this point to send us to the top of the draft, so there is that.

The Carson Wentz vs. Jalen Hurts debate is similar to 1986 with Buddy Ryan deciding between Ron Jaworski and Randall Cunningham.  Buddy didn't know if Randall was the guy, but he DID know for sure that Jaws was NOT the guy.

Do you honestly believe, with the play calling, the O line blocking and the lack of run game that Hurts would do better ??  What about his game makes him fit into the offense we are running, and would make him run it better ??
