Not gonna happen.  Already massively over the cap, can not afford to have a dead cap hit of 34 million.

Yeah it’s not going to happen. Possibly in the 2021 offseason but even so it’s 25 mil dead money. I’m guessing with everything going on around the team and in the world they are going to give him another shot. I’m still under the belief one of doug, Carson and howie isn’t going to be back at the end of 2021.

Don't forget to praise Mike McCarthy for smashing watermelons before you sign out today.

Listening to the local guys up here in the Northwest on my way home, obviously they’re acknowledging Wentz isn’t playing well, but I love the comment, in my time covering the Seahawks I’ve never previewed a game with such a boring offense and poorly constructed roster

What’s most amazing about the roster is people bought into it all offseason. It wasn’t good then. It’s not better now. Add on we’ve done a poor job developing guys and coaching as been subpar. It really is an entire organizational failure.

You didn't hear? McCarthy smashed watermeons for their game on Sunday and that's why they won.

Great speech, Coach.

NET cap hit if we trade Carson before 6/1 is $853K cap savings.  Like I said, if he's so great, we should have no problem finding a suitor for him.

I had to google it because I live under a rock. I initially thought it was some strange tradition around thanksgiving that I've never heard of lol

Still a dead cap hit of 34 million.  Not gonna happen

Listened to Andrew Brandt on WIP interview. Basically said lurie loves Carson and his contract makes it that he’s going to be here at least for another year or two

Media will use any excuse to praise a Cowboy

So what if its a dead cap hit of $34M but you save $35M from not having to pay the worst QB in the league, thereby netting $1M in total cap savings, plus tens of millions more in future seasons?

So Lurie is the ultimate problem.  Even if Doug wants to bench Carson, Lurie would intervene to stop it.

Good luck getting a top coaching candidate to sign up for that.  Like I said, they'll be scraping the bottom of the barrel if they fire Doug.

Wentz may be a terrible football player, but he's a fantastic backroom politician.  Even Howie would be impressed!

makes sense. that contract was great when he signed, and got better and better with each QB signing made after him.

Obviously you hope Wentz will bounce back next season. And itd be foolish not to give him that opportunity. Hes too good not to.

i swear if lurie makes no changes after all the money he lost this season and expects to make any next year by bringing back the same crap product, he's really going to find himself a for sale sign for this franchise labeled the dumbest owner in philla sports.

I'm 99.9999% sure Howie, Doug, and Carson will be back next year. Whether they should be is another question...

I don’t know if I’m sold on him as the nickel/slot corner. I have to find the tweet but before the packers game last year he had given up the most catches, yards and QB rating of any slot corner. Granted it was only 3 games. I just am Not as high on him. I’d say see if you scan transition him to safety but he’d have to play McLeod’s role and we aren’t going to do that

Maddox just isn't good.  I'm not sure why they ever thought he would be a good CB2.  He was OK as a rookie in the slot and at safety.  He didn't even come close to Brandon Boykin status who had all the potential to be a great nickel.  He's a #4 CB at best starting on the outside.

He's on the same level as Nate Gerry if you ask me.  No matter how bad he plays, Schwartz has his back.

He's not even close to the dumbest owner this franchise has ever seen.

Exactly.  This year he has been bad, injuries, play calling or any other excuse, he's still looked bad.

As much as I hate seeing him play right now, he's never looked this bad before.  Something just isnt right.  Wouldn't surprise me if maybe a new HC, new OC could do wonders for him.  Problem is finding who that coach is.

I just think Doug is in way over his head.  If he didnt have all these responsibilities on offense with play calling maybe he might be a good HC.

Norman Braman... who wasn't 'dumb', but he certainly wasn't in the business to win, he was in the business to hob knob and to make money.   Worst owner in franchise history, and one of the worst ever in professional sports, imho.  (and yes, I'm biased)

Carson and Howie I think will be back.

Doug will meet with Lurie and be told that changes need to be made.  Possibly he has to give up play calling, maybe fire Press, Schwartz, etc.  Doug might disagree and maybe they mutually split.  But I cant see all 3 back.

I do wonder how Doug feels about everything and if everyone will be able to move forward on the same page.

I dunno, the dude with a 30 year waiting list for season tickets might have to sell the team because of one sub .500 season
