People like to throw around ridiculous superlatives whenever they get frustrated.  It's sad to see.

Norman Braman... who wasn't 'dumb', but he certainly wasn't in the business to win, he was in the business to hob knob and to make money.   Worst owner in franchise history, and one of the worst ever in professional sports, imho.  (and yes, I'm biased)

I love the eagles encyclopedia that Ray didinger wrote. It gives a bunch of info you never would know.

I don't see how Lurie can watch these years and keep Howie

No idea how Doug will react if/when he's told to give up play calling. There's also the matter of him likely being told to get 1 OC. So that'd be the 2nd year in a row he'll be told to get a new OC. All of that seems like it would really hurt the relationship between a HC and the FO

Who should be the next DC? I figure they'd have to stick with a 4-3 because of all the money tied into the Dline

Skimmed through. In typical Bacarty fashion, he used only the snippets from Caplan that fit his narrative that everything is on Doug.

Caplan’s same sources who called Doug’s offense stale and unimaginative also said Wentz is just playing poorly. His mechanics are bad and he doesn’t throw with any anticipation. He holds the ball too long waiting for receivers to break open kinda like McNabb.

Piecing together various viewpoints from Caplan, Cosell, Duffy, etc...

* Doug is relying too much on receivers winning 1 on 1 with iso routes and they aren’t doing it, particularly early in the route. He needs better route combinations to scheme open receivers.

* Wentz’s mechanics are bad and he isn’t trusting what he’s seeing. He’s become gun shy.

* The revolving door at OL and WR doesn’t help. Reagor has missed a lot of time and just isn’t nuanced in any way. The OL is a revolving door week to week and snap to snap. How many configurations did we have on Sunday alone?

* None of the RBs can pick up a blitz.

Honestly not talked about enough. Sanders who was good at it last year has looked bad at it this year.

I’m a little worried about more change for Wentz considering all the different OCs and QB coaches he’s had since 2017, but I think it’s time for Press Taylor to move on. Obviously I’m not in the room, but who is coaching Wentz hard to fix these issues? Taylor might be too buddy-buddy with him. Flip might have been a D to him, but he got the most out of him. And it seems like the more power and sway Taylor has gotten, the worse our offense has gotten.

Consistency is always good but it it's a definite need to get a new one

Duce said it’s not a problem. Next question

Consistency can be good, but we are seeing consistent decline. That means a change is needed.

While Lurie is making money hand over fist with the Eagles, those season ticket waiting lists aren't real.  Every team in the NFL has season ticket licenses up for sale that won't move.

The waiting lists are for the most affordable categories of tickets.

Anyone who wants season tickets and is willing to pay up can get them...for any team.

Duce clearly been hanging out with the person making the decision on Jason peters and alshon

A few things have been lost in the apathy following Sunday’s loss...

* Sanders’ soft fumble was just crippling for a team that is waiting around for the next bad thing to happen. We’re a team of losers.

* Mayfield’s fumble being called as forward progress being stopped is just an inexcusable mistake by the refs. If we cared about wins and losses we’d still be talking about it.

* Sweat was awesome outside of that one embarrassing play where he got confused so bad his brain short circuited on that Mayfield play fake.

* Singleton played out of his mind.

* Schwartz played all sorts of different looks from base to nickel to dime to 4-4 to four safety looks. Duffy said we’re top five now in red zone efficiency. That seems crazy if true. We’re also top 10 in third down defense.

* Davion Taylor. Eww. But let’s keep playing him. The season is lost anyway. I hope Wallace keeps getting snaps too.

* Last week I thought Alshon should play more than Ward. Both are bad. I don’t even care anymore. I saw athletically what I needed from Alshon. The time off and cut weight didn’t help at all. Ward, for all the credit people give him for thinking like a QB, continues making mistakes. He’s late to get into his hot route. He didn’t sit in a zone that led to an incompletion. In his defense, the route was farther than 8 yards downfield so he was probably exhausted or lost.

It's funny that Schwartz is the safest bet to not return of the prominent players, coaches, and FO personalities.

I criticize Schwartz harshly for his work in developing young DBs and using them in his system (abysmal), but his net product has always been pretty good...and this year's defense really isn't that far off that same mark.  If they had anything besides a league-worst offense controlling the ball, helping to keep the ball out of the oppositions hands, and helping with field position, this defense might actually be FINE.

They have their brain farts that make the fans want to gouge their eyes out, but that's 2020 football.  All defenses are giving up big plays, 3rd down conversions, and big points to offenses perceived as bad.

The defensive coaches and players would be sliding comfortably under the radar if they were paired with an NFL quality offense.  There are elite teams with SB aspirations who have equivalent, maybe even worse defenses.

10% of the point here is to defend the defense.  45% is to reiterate that the NFL has dictated that success comes through your offense.  45% is to reiterate how humiliatingly awful our offense has become.

Nah, he needs to go. Dude ain't good enough, try to find someone who is, please.

Schwartz has some good qualities, he’s somewhat savvy, and there are far worse out there.  For me, though, I’m just sick and tired of his terrible evaluation of talent.  Gerry will resume his 100% snap count as soon as he’s off IR, 5 years of Mills still won’t be enough for him, and we still won’t have a decent CB by the time Slay is gone

I also saw it that his forward progress had been stopped, but it was a classic example of why the refs are supposed to let the play finish before blowing the whistle.  Once the play is blown dead it becomes something the coach can’t even challenge — which is wrong.  They should at least have looked at it on replay.

They couldn’t look at it because they ruled his progress was stopped. You can’t review that. Now if they ruled him down and blew the whistle they could still review it and see if we made an immediate recovery.

This is starting to make sense. Carson didn’t totally abandon meat but he’s eating more greens aka plant based sausage.

Plant based meat??  That changes everything.

Wentz will go 32/45 for 364 yards and 4 total TDs on Monday night.

This MFer hunts deer in his spare time but now he's eating "plant-based sausage"? Holy Lord, someone please break into his house, find the glass case his wife keeps his balls in, shatter that ish, and give them back to him. This is more depressing than what we see from him on Sundays.

The "plant based sausage” was just a joke line from me that’s been happening in the blog because of Pizza Huts ads for plant based sausage. The tweet thread does talk about him becoming mostly vegan and past examples of other NFL players becoming vegan and their play dropping though.

They are not going to give up on Wentz b/c of one bad season, it's not like he didn't have 3 great seasons before this year.

It's easy to say get rid of him, but what makes you think the Eagles can land even an top 20 QB to replace him.

Hurts was drafted as a backup, even if he's ready to start next season, who knows if he's good enough to be the starter.
