All the McNabb lovers who think I'm a hater have to know, I SOURED on him, Big difference from hating. 1999, which until this year, was the worst QBing I ever saw our head coach accept, knowing we had a talented rookie on the bench, I hated that.

I'm really pissed that we're going to accept this level of QBing to affect or influence our rookie. It was wrong what Andy did to Donny and it's wrong what Doug is doing to Jalen on more than one level. So many of these fans want to just go down with the ship. I want to live to fight again. It's time to think about next year. Don't expect Doug to do it, because he won't be a part of next year.

Fire Doug this minute so we can bench Wentz. Give the offense to Duce. We might as well see what we have with him calling plays too until we figure out what we do for next season. What are we afraid of? He might run the ball too much? It's the one thing we do we.

McNabb was drafted 2nd overall to become the franchise QB.  Hurts was drafted #53 overall to be the backup QB.

Wentz was also drafted 2nd overall to be the franchise QB

Oh. Well, if that's your sole criteria: where drafted, then I guess that makes sense. I also wanted to see 36th pick Kolb once McNabb's production approached Went's current.

And what a great career Kolb had

If only Kolb's failure could be translated to Mcnabb's success. But alas. Replacing a known failure with an unknown....makes sense too.

While you’re thinking about next year, think about the $59M the Eagles aren’t going to eat — so, no matter who you think should be the starting QB for 2021 — Wentz will be the starting QB in 2021

Hmmm let’s see, keeping McNabb and going to NFCCG in 2008 or replacing him with Kolb like people wanted and getting well... Kevin Kolb.

I don't think sitting and watching helped. I think it was just more reps on the field

Reps help mechanics, watching helps you take a step back and see how DCs attack an offensive tackle.

Remember, this is Mailata's third season of ANY KIND OF FOOTBALL, so it's not surprising he can be mentally overwhelmed at time.

But he's growing by leaps and bounds, I expect him to start at LT next year unless Lane is hurt/traded. In which case he'll be the RT.

Gee, does anyone remember McNabb's 2005 season?

This season has felt a lot like the 2015 one. It only would have been apropos if they played tomorrow and got destroyed like the 2015 team did.

Lol how can we not when it's an excuse that keeps getting brought up to bench Wentz

They should have fired the moron.

You have to make a decision on someone based on how they're playing now. What does someone's past have to do with anything? Wentz has been mediocre since the Super Bowl season.

It's been 2 and a half seasons now of subpar QB play. 2017 is long gone. And now they have a young QB they drafted in the 2nd round who they need to see what he's capable of(for better or for worse). Can't keep clinging to that forever. Right now he's terrible and as a coach you have to look your locker room in the eyes everyday and tell them you're doing what's best for the team.

Yeah, I wouldn’t be surprised if Goodell places a phone call and that guy becomes unemployed.  That behavior impacts the NFL brand.

That's not true at all and just shows bias

There’s a few questions that go into this:

1) Who gives the team the better chance to win the division, Wentz or Hurts?  It’s possible Doug or Howie’s employment depends on winning the division

2) Who do you see as the likely Eagles starting QB in 2021?

3) If the Eagles fail to make the playoffs in 2020, what changes are made to the coaching staff (if any) and how will the roster be built with the first 3 picks in the draft?

I disagree, I think it shows bias to suggest otherwise and is simply not objective.

He was not good in 2018 at all, really. Then he got hurt, Foles came in and played better.

In 2019 he was average until the final month of the season where he played well, but against basement level competition.

2020 he's been a bottom 3 QB in the entire NFL. Just abysmal at every phase of the game.

People have lowered the bar so low on him that it's just about excuse-making now and simply is just denial to admit what they know deep down, which is right now he's terrible and we haven't seen franchise QB play since 2017. The guy is going to be 28 years old in a month. How many QBs that age are playing the worst football of their career through steady regression and turn it around? Can name a couple at most.

Wentz's QBR in 2018 was 62.6 with at rank of 12. (Russell Wilson was ranked one spot above with a QBR of 62.8).

Wentz's QBR in 2019 was 64.8 with a rank of 11.

FWIW I think Woodson is the best all around football player of all time. Allen should be in too though.

I dont disagree on Woodson, but I just want to see Allen in there, its long overdue.   And Woodson going in shouldnt derail that.  There's no reason mulitple players from a position cant get in the same year.  Its a stupid pyschological hangup for the votes and its purely artificial.

You should try a meat based vegetable. Like Beyond Eggplant is a chicken cutlet

I've had that one. Very good.  Ive also had the competitor's version, I think its called veal cutlet, also very good.

He threw for over 4000 yds last year to scrubs but yea sure you're not biased

Don't forget Don McPherson who I don't think ever made the roster.

They did have Sean Lee

He did.  Was the 3rd stringer for a year or two.  I got his autograph.

I've defended Wentz over and over again, there is no bias, I'm telling it like it is. Did you watch him play through November last season? He wasn't good. He wasn't as awful as he has been this season, but he was supposed to be a top level franchise QB and he was not that last season or in 2018.

If they can't explore benching him this season, then there isn't any time he can be benched because it's almost impossible for him to be playing any worse. There's nothing to lose in giving Hurts a chance. Absolutely nothing. If Hurts blows, you can go back to Wentz and maybe it will have motivated him to play better. If Hurts plays well, at least you have something to build on with him. The team sucks and is going nowhere anyway, it's a win-win situation to try Hurts out.
