This game Monday night feels like a win to me. I feel like Doug really gets this team to play on prime time and with all the benching Wentz talk this week and Doug should give up the play calling, their backs are against the wall more than ever. I know this team can never seem to beat the Seahawks but I just get this weird feeling we get the W.

I mean perhaps not but I do think Wentz is really broken right now and might take some real rebuilding.

wentz has no confidence in his wrs or his oline, he started out the season giving them both his trust.

when he started throwing a bunch if ints because the wrs were not fighting for the ball, coming back to the ball or even being in the right spot, he started to not trust them and its gotten worse each game.

Both can be repaired easily:

a oline that isnt filled witj backups to the back ups and gets to start more than 1 game in tact.

and just 2 nfl caliber starting wrs

thats all it will take to get wentz to start having confidence again in the players around him so that he keeps his eyes down field and pulls the trigger like he did before

its like some of you can see the forrest through the trees

I disagree. He holds the ball too long and I don't think it's all on the WRs either. His ball placement and accuracy is an issue. I don't think he should be excused of that.

I'm not opposed to benching Carson, but does Jalen Hurts even know the playbook well enough to play at this point? What is he working on at practice? Just the gadget stuff? He didn't have an offseason or preseason.

Doug said that Hurts simulates the Seahawls QB at practice.  Does not look like he is preparing Hurts to go in as the Eagles QB.

The reason the likes of Hopkins and Diggs went elsewhere was the awful cap management and wasting of draft picks in other years had left the metaphorical cupboard bare.  They reached the point where by doing it again, they would only kick the can down the road again and make it harder to get back - for an org who will not rebuild, it's an Achilles heel.  If Alshon hadn't had his money guaranteed and Desean not traded for and re-upped, maybe.

Happy Thanksgiving.  It's lovely and quiet at work today 😘

Same story since he was drafted I’ve been hearing this since he’s been drafted.

So In order for Wentz to be successful he needs good Oline, Good play calling, great WRs and good Running game....

At what point does he take over a game as win one without needing the best of very other offensive output?

Not exactly sure what your expectations are; apparently Wentz should just do everything by himself

What Vermeil is saying is when a QB is down to 1/5 of his starting OL, and a WR group of Ward, Hightower, and Fulgham then the QB is likely to have problems.

I’d say his take is more reasonable than yours

Every QB needs an Oline

Name a QB that's done well with only 1 or 2 healthy starters?

They havent shown improvement in any area over the course of the season.  Even when they got key players back from injury.  Even when coming off a bye week.   Even against teams they were favored against.

why would you go into this game thinking anything other than the eagles getting blown out of the stadium?

ill be watching this one alone as to not have to let anyone witness me in a state of disgust of the team everyone in my life  knows i love

Also, Vermeil was the coach in a different era. There wasn't as much pressure to win as there is now due to the big money these players are  making and big network contracts, etc.  He remembers telling Jaworkski that he wouldn't bench him and it worked out for him so he is just going from his own frame of reference in that era.

You know that he won a Super Bowl with the Rams when Kurt Warner came in to replace Trent Green, right?

He coached the Chiefs for 5 years from 2001-2005 as well .......

Yeah, but he wasn't faced with benching the starter with those teams. Those starting QBs went down with injuries and he plugged the next guy in. Plus, even 15 years ago is a different era. Teams are far more likely now to start young drafted QBs earlier nowadays.

He did it against the Giants, and Cowboys, and frankly 49ers.   But, those are forgotten because he didnt also do it a bunch of other times too. Wentz hasnt been good.  Moving on, name 2 offensive players that have been.

Not really -- in 2004 while Vermeil was still coaching, Eli Manning was drafted #1 overall.  His entry level contract was 7 years and $54M.  Joe Burrow drafted #1 overall this past season has an entry level contract of 4 years and $36M.  Not sure where you're going with the 'starting young drafted QBs' portion of your statement

Last year?

anybody notice big v not starting for the lions , he was benched after playing RT poorly then moved to RG and benched again., heard they regret giving him that contract and could look to move him. lol i think his best position is LT and they tried to make a RT where he played bad there for us.

Could’ve just proven his point being completely idiotic doing this

Mahomes has:

solid oline, Travis kelce, tyreek hill, CEH, bell, Watkins, hardman

Wilson has:

metcalf, Lockett, Carson, (when Hyde and Carson were out for 3 games had 7 turnovers)

rodgers:

Adams, Aaron jones, good oline

Big Ben:

great oline, diontae Johnson, claypool, juju, conner

Tannehill/titans:

Henry, aj brown, Jonnu smith, davis and solid oline

chargers/Herbert:

hunter Henry (who when healthy has been one of the better tight ends in the league), Keenan Allen and Mike Williams.

Murray/cardinals:

Solid oline, Hopkins, Kirk, drake and Edmonds

saints/brees:

One of the best oline in the league, kamara, Michael Thomas, Emmanuel sanders and Jared cook

Carr/Raiders:

good oline, Waller, Jacobs,

bridgewater/panthers:

moore, Samuel, Anderson, cmc/Mike davis

bucs/Brady:

evans, godwin, jones, brown, good oline

bills/Allen:

good oline, diggs, John brown

but every great or good qb in this league is clearly doing it without those things he’s talking about. It really is like most of this blog (not you) has no clue about the rest of the league cause they don’t watch anyone but the eagles

I think he's dealing with an injury too, but they can get out of that contract rather easily. There isn't that much guaranteed money in his deal like it seemed when it was announced.

i thought early in the year he was hurt alittle , but they weren't happy with his play . he might have to come in now

Are you drunk? He doesn't need the best but adequate would be nice.

Nah... I wouldn't say most.  I'd say many in the blog, but there's a larger group of posters in the blog who don't post a ton, but just read and when too much idiocy is bandied about, they just log off for a while.
