I don’t actually actively root for us to lose during the game, but I know in the back of my mind that it’s for the best, so when the game is over the loss doesn’t bother me as nearly as much as having to sit through gross football.

Pretty much where I am. I’m not going to actively root for Seattle or anyone else, but nothing bad I see going forward this year will upset me. And I am glad we aren’t leading the division anymore.

So with Doug just two days ago saying JP was the starter at LT going forward, was that just coach speak or is Howie actually the one deciding who plays like the earlier report suggested?

The real question is what they do next year when Mailata starts at LT, Dillard is on the bench, and Lane goes on IR.

Continues to make the whole FO look awful.  It’s comical at this point.

Doug literally said 2 days ago that Peters was the LT moving forward.

Someone in the media needs to ask Doug if he has any control over this team at all.

Did he say that before or after he looked at the game tape?

Doug is completely incompetent. He doesn’t make any sense and doesn’t seem to have a clue what’s happening around him.

In fairness we don’t know if Jason peters went to the Eagles and said I’ll move to right tackle if you pay me more.

Lane done for the year

This explains the Mailata/Peters move

Sidenote: Lane looks gutted.

This team would play Pryor at RT instead of Driscoll

We really have to be aggressive in addressing this OL in this upcoming offseason. Brooks and Lane might never be the same.  Dillard is also a huge question mark.  And, if Kelce retires...wow.

I love Lane but his body is deteriorating on him. This is like the third consecutive year he’s had injuries and fighting through them all year. I wonder if playing all those extra snaps early in his career in Chip Kelly’s offense is catching up to him because he’s only 30

Pryor at RT? My god.

Well, there's a few things wrong with this premise.

1 - There's no guarantee that Mailata wins the LT spot over Dillard.  Frankly, Dillard looked really good at LT as a rookie for those limited spots, better than Mailata.  Dillard also has the benefit of being the first round pick, so he could easily have the inside track. Also, we already know that Mailata is capable at both LT and RT, so he can be the swing guy, easily.

2 - Even if Mailata beats out Dillard at LT, that doesn't mean that Dillard can't be cross-trained to play RT and LT.  His issue was that he was asked to transition to RT in one week, without having experience there...  ever.  That's a tall order in a very short period of time.  If he's the swing tackle, he can cross train all off-season for that role and be ready to go... 'maybe'.

3 - Even if Mailata is the starting LT, and Dillard the backup, they could flip Mailata to RT and insert Dillard at LT if that means that the players are in the best position to help the team overall.  Let the best 11 play in the best positions to make the strongest 11 man unit.  Or at the OL position, the strongest 5 man unit.

And... if the Eagles are looking at long term improvement and cap relief... as much as I hate to say it... Lane Johnson could be traded post-June 1.  That saves the Eagles about $8M on next year's cap, but costs $21M dead money in 2022.

Finally some good news. We still have some stuffing left over.

That’s good news about Peters too.

Make stuffing waffles with the leftover. Put some turkey gravy and cranberry sauce on said waffles. WIN!!!!!

Lane Johnson was still good this year despite the ankle injury, so he should hopefully be fine next year.

Likely for the best. That let's Driscoll get established at RT, and get some continuity along the OL.  So... here's what I want to see on the OL for the rest of the year.

Mailata - Seumalo - Kelce - Herbig - Driscoll.    If Kelce gets hurt again, move Seumalo to OC, and slide Opeta back to LG.  That's a very young group, and if that's the group moving forward, a lot of cap relief can come from that.

Lane is the type of player that you want to have on your team.  We need to clone Lane and Kelce.

It was a fun 30 minutes thinking this team finally figured out the right O-line moves.

I’d agree if it were Driscoll. By the sounds of what lane said it’s going to be pryor.
