It’s kind of remarkable that Howie has been involved in THREE power struggles and the subsequent dumpster fires caused by them inside of 8 years....and he’s survived all of them.

That has to impact any potential HC they might recruit.

To be fair, AR was a better HC than GM, and he's accepted that in KC.

Kelly was a clusterf---- as a GM.

Howie did build a SB winner off the ashes of Kelly's dumpster fire.

Question is whether is was Howie, Lurie or Pederson who wanted to keep the 2017 team intact whatever the cost - the hardest thing for a FO to do in pro sports is admit "the party's over" and make tough decisions with guys who got you a ring.

It definitely complicates things if the Eagles fire Doug because they will have to find a candidate who believes in Wentz and is willing to forego hand picking his own his own QB.  It definitely lessens the pool of candidates because many would be HCs would want the job security of hand picking their own guy which gives them a few years to have success.  Candidates who are hot commodities wouldn't probably want to be that restricted and deal with the dynamics of fixing the QB and have virtually no say in personnel from the outset.

Any HC who wouldn't want a combination of Wentz and Hurts isn't worth hiring - because unless you pick #1 or #2, the odds of landing a QB as talented in the draft are slim, the rate of failure for 1st rd QBs far exceeds any other position. If you're a new HC would you rather "fix" Wentz with Hurts in reserve or put your job on the line with some drafted QB who might take 4 years to be a consistent winner if ever?

That is fair.  I will give you that.

Hurts was seen by some as a 3rd round talent. He isn't a can't miss prospect.  So, that leaves Wentz and we see where he is.  He is a huge question mark going forward.  So, I don't think people would view this as a great situation. I think you are overestimating the QB talent at this point in time.

Eh the raiders got gruden to come out of the mnf booth for Derek carr who wasn’t anywhere close to where he was prior to his injury. Now he was never this awful either but i didn’t think gruden would leave mnf for carr unless they dropped a brinks truck.

I think you are underestimating it, imo. Washington had no problem getting Rivera despite him being stuck with Haskins. Carolina got Rhule with Bridgewater. Wentz is having a bad year but I don’t see coaches turning down the job because they will have to have Wentz for a year or two.

I think you're overestimating what other teams have, and what is available in the draft.

The grass is always greener with a draft pick until they play.

Whoa.

To me this does not look like a strong QB draft.  Lawrence would be a #1 in most years, but I don’t see Fields’ OSU tape to be any better than Haskins (if as good), Zach Wilson has awful mechanics, and Trey Lance is very intriguing but raw.

Matt Patricia will be a DC again next year. I’d take him over our current one.

Why?  Belichick was the brains behind the NE defense

Noooo.  Belichick was more of the brains behind the Pats' defense.  I'd rather get Quinn.

Wildcat offense time.  Reverses, hidden ball tricks, center sneaks...it's all on the table.

The Broncos got off easy, we've been playing without a QB all season.

Makes me want to actually watch that game now

It will be interesting for about a quarter.  But, after that, I would expect a blow out.  But, you never know.  The Dolphins beat the Pats using the wild cat back in the day, but the Pats didn't know that was coming.  The Saints know the Broncos are going to run gadgets now, so that's part of the battle.

How to F up your QB room 101

Royce Freeman is apparently the emergence Qb. Maybe he comes out and shocks the world. Lol

Maybe he should ask for QB money and hold out.

The dude hasn't had a touch in like half the games this season lol. I was cool with starting Hill at TE, I don't think i'm brave enough for this.
