I said verge*.

You want me to call him a good player with a lot of upside, I'll give you that. And yes, I'll take him over G. ward every day of the week(unsure if that means anything is I think Ward stinks). People on here(not you specifically) talked like Claypool was the next best thing. Julio 2.0, probably gonna win ROY. Realistically, from what I see. He's a good 2nd... 3rd target in the passing game. So next year, probably DEonte Johnson, Ebron then Claypool. Although they have this weird obsession with Ray Ray Mcelod

I never said he was Julio Jones though. All I’ve said was he’s not a jag. The definition of a jag is someone like Mack hollins or Greg ward or guys who are just destined to be 4-5th wrs on teams. He has the chance to be a starting caliber wide receiver in this league. And a solid to good one in this league if he continues to progress. Do i think he ever becomes a top 10 receiver? Likely not. However I can see him being a top 30 wide receiver in this league if he maximizes his potential. That’s pretty good for a second round pick

Aaron Jones is the 35th ranked RB?

Yeah, No.

Good, we're getting some where. After this post, I now realize you dont know what a fluke is.

Fluke is an outlier, something that happens once, and never happens again.

Nick Foles has more then 14 TD's in 1 of his 9 years. Thats a fluke, 1 out of 9 is an outlier.

In 9 years, Nick has never thrown for over 3000 yards. even more of an outliet.

Wentz has 5 years in a row of 3000 yards and 5 years in a row of more then 14TD's.

Do you understand what a fluke is now?

3000 yards and 14 TDs don't mean jack sh!t.  Totally arbitrary numbers you pulled out of your ass to support your failing argument that Carson Wentz is a star QB.

Here's what matters for a so called "franchise QB".  11-2 record in 2017.  Under .500 the rest of his career.  That makes 2017 a FLUKE.

That Oline blocked for 6 seconds with no penalties

I'm jealous. And Adams makes the circus catch in traffic look easy. No one on the Eagles makes that catch.

Also, really digging Tirico and Dungy on SNF. Can we keep them and send Michaels/Collinsworth packing?

Was it?  I thought it was called 'the Brady rule', after he was lost for the season on a hit like that in the preseason.

I've seen it called the Brady Rule too but I remember the hit on Palmer happening first. Unclear whether they added to the rule or modified it any way after Brady's injury too.

2006: The "Carson Palmer rule"

Some call the rule designed to protect quarterbacks' knees the "Tom Brady rule," but it was the "Carson Palmer rule" first.

In the AFC Wild Card matchup between the Bengals and Steelers in January, the Steelers' Kimo von Oelhoffen hit Bengals quarterback Carson Palmer on the second play from scrimmage in the knee on a long pass play, tearing Palmer's ACL.

During the offseason, the NFL's competition committee proposed a rule change in the interest of quarterbacks' safety.

The rule: "A rushing defender is prohibited from forcibly hitting in the knee area or below a passer who has one or both feet on the ground, even if the initial contact is above the knee. It is not a foul if the defender is blocked (or fouled) into the passer and has no opportunity to avoid him."

Just to throw some lighter fluid in a debate over semantics, yet perhaps worth discussing...

My personal definition for a "franchise qb" has nothing to do with how good they are or are not.  It is simply a QB in which a franchise has made a large, multi-year commitment in to be "their guy."

Joe Burrow, as a #1 pick...franchise QB.  Kirk Cousins, with that contract...franchise QB.  Mahomes, Goff with their extensions...franchise QBs.

Dak Prescott...UFA next year, 3rd round pick whose franchise has not yet extended him...not a franchise QB.  Tom Brady...2 year contract...not a franchise QB.

Carson Wentz...franchise QB.

"Franchise QB" is reflective of the investment their franchise has made...not how good the player is.

Carson Wentz is a franchise QB a franchise killing QB

I'm pretty hyped about Hurts. If we can get someone in here to coach his throwing motion he could end up being a great player. His stats in college are nuts.

He doesn't turn the ball over, let's his work ethic speak for himself. Ready to see his first series.

I'm worried they could ruin his development as well.

I like Hurts the person... but I think you are getting yourself excited and will end up disappointed.

Michaels' best days are behind him in terms of announcing.  He was always at his best when he put emotion into key moments in games. Now there are times he fails to do that and it is almost like ho-hum.  I don't think he has the passion for it that he once did.

I've echoed a similar sentiment in the past.

What's your personal threshold for replacing the franchise QB if the backup can play better?

We've seen nothing yet from Jalen Hurts in the NFL to say anything definitive, but it's kind of hard to believe he would be worse than Wentz at this point. How much better than Wentz would he have to be for you to make the change, at least for a game or some indefinite timeframe? Or do you think that once the "franchise QB" investment is made, you have to ride it out no matter what?

How many points are the Packers putting up against us next week?

Truly hilarious.  The entire world knows that Carson Wentz doesn't have it.  But you and your fellow washers know better.

No one with a functioning brain would believe that a "franchise QB" could be this atrocious through ten games.

I've said a number of times (feel free to go look) that Wentz has been dreadful this season and flat out sucks.

That doesn't eliminate the previous four seasons of his career or your clearly biased, one sided agenda.

Carson Wentz is arguably (likely) the worst QB in football this season. Correcting your asinine conclusion that he's always been "mediocre" has nothing to do with his play this season. Again: it does not have anything to do with his play this season. It does not excuse the stupidity we have seen him display for this season.

What about that is hard to grasp? Pointing out that Wentz hasn't been "flukey" in the NFL since 2017 means a fan is a "Wentz Washer"? Yet you sit and wonder why people call you out on your constant hogwash.

If you aren't trolling I am genuinely concerned for your mental state, because you're truly incapable of grasping reality. That must be a scary thing.

I've learned that you cannot accept reason. You cannot accept reality. You cannot keep up with a conversation and I really am never going to entertain this discussion with you again.

It depends if our offense can show anything at all. Slay actually can do a decent job on Adams. He won't shut him down, but he probably will keep him under 100 yards. Their other WRs are just okay.  But, if our offense turns it  over and can't move the ball, then they could put 40+ on us. If our offense is average, then I think we can hold them under 30.

Is Slay injured? If Slay isn't playing then Adams will have a career game

A lot. I'm not looking forward to Rodgers laughing at our team again.

My favorite part of him is how he calls every play action an RPO

You would think that Collinsworth would correct him on it.
