What about Slay on Lockett and double team Metcalf?

I'd at least start out with him shadowing Metcalf. They brought him here to cover the opposing team's best receiver, and that's Metcalf for Seattle. If it gets out of control with Lockett, then you can go from there I guess. I really want to see how Slay handles these next few weeks. He has some brutal matchups coming up against Metcalf, Adams, Thomas (which doesn't seem as brutal now with him struggling this year), and then Hopkins against AZ. That's a tough test.

He might but he’s still better than what we’re putting opposite of Slay right now.

I can't disagree. Maddox clearly isn't an outside corner and they have nobody else there which is a massive failure. I just dispute the idea that he's playing well in Jacksonville when, at least statistically, he's worse than he was last year. I'm open to being proven wrong though. Plus he's still struggling to stay healthy. He's missed the last two games because of it.

The real miss was letting Rasul go, and the coordinator not being able to adjust the scheme to find a way to help him be successful.

What will Maddox have McLeod ride on his shoulders so they can cover him?

Sidney Jones and Rasul Douglas are both still bad. They're just on worst teams than us.

The problem was signing RNC and not drafting a CB in RD2-3. Michael Ojemudia went in RD3 and is crushing it in Denver.

We are so bad at adapting scheme to player and even worse at player development.

Is this shockers twitter account ??

And this shows the danger of twitter.  "Jalen" is now trending on twitter and people probably think Joshie knows what he's talking about.

I'd put Jacquet (6'2") on Metcalf and give him a lot of help.

And our coaches get fixated with players and politics becomes an issue. I'm talking about Mills and Gerry in this case.  Why did we sign Parks if he isn't going to contribute?

I don't think I missed anyone but if I did let me know.

I expect this to get so ugly tonight. Russell Wilson is probably my favorite QB to watch from a talent perspective and I hate that he just owns this team. I can't stand watching him carve this defense up.

The over under on yards for Metcalf is around 80 yards (just under i think). He may have that in each quarter against this secondary.

Scratch that I just got 69.5.

But imagine if Hurts does start and wins against the team we haven’t beaten since 2008....

If Jalen Hurts plays a significant portion of tonight's game and wins his first NFL game against a good team we NEVER beat, I will order his jersey tonight.

I'm not worried. I'm sure that Arcega-Whiteside playing the role of Metcalf will get the defense ready.

And jinx the rest of his career?

@In2football I don't remember my previous prediction, but ahead of tonight's game I am updating it.

There's a statement. Best start looking at places to order from then my friend! 😉

Oh come on.

It's completely understandable, and when you compare his other 4 seasons to this one, what stands out is just how bad the team around him is now.  If anyone actually studies the games, and not just repeats the hot takes, it's easy to see, and is all fixable.

I agree, but don't believe it is fixable by who we have coaching him right now, nor do I believe the roster is fixable by who we have procuring players right now.   And 2021 will be another tough road... but, if we can get the right coaches in place, and the right guy(s) selecting the players, then even purging high salary players could actually lead to growth by the end of the season.

Frankly, I have no problem taking a huge massive step back for 2021, with a new front office, new coaching staff and just dumping lots of older, expensive players.  That's the only way that this team will ultimately improve and in the shortest time possible.  Rip off all the band-aids that Howie has put on this roster and take your lumps with the young guys.  BUT... commit to the young guys, commit to their development, get them the reps, get them the coaching and maybe by midway through the season next year, we'll see a team trending up, instead of a team trending down.  Right now, the Giants and Washington are trending up, with new coaching staffs and some younger players.  Meanwhile, the Eagles are clearly trending down, even if they didn't have their toughest stretch of games in a row, could any of us be confident in them winning a game over the next 4?  Frankly, I'm not confident that this team will come out and beat Dallas as they are currently playing.  They just find ways to lose right now.

If Slay shadows him, like I expect, I think he'll go under. Whatever Lockett's yards over is, I'd take that.

If that happens, annnddd that's a big IF, I would gladly help Carson Wentz wrap his knick-knacks in bubble tape on his way out.
