So basically we get to watch Wentz continue to flail around until his dramatic benching happens at some point tonight.  Cool.

The culmination of stupidity that began with the indefensible drafting of Jalen Hurts reaches its climax tonight.

It's hard to remember if this dramatic of a fall has occurred before with a team that won the SB just three years ago and has managed to slip into the playoffs in the two years since.  I can't think of a similar example.

That’s how I took it. Wentz is in control of his playing time which hopefull will light a fire under wentz knowing he’s not beyond being called a shore if not playing well.

Money is more important than player safety to owners. It’s more obvious now than ever. The fear of lawsuits is the only thing that would pause the season.

There's no way Lurie told them to draft any player. What likely happened was that the Eagles staff had a 1st/2nd round grade and Lurie told them not to pass on him if they thought he could be a starter. Lurie giving the green light to pull the trigger is not the same as a directive.

You sure about that?

He’ll get 12 the first quarter then 5 the rest of the game

But our short passing game is an extension of our run game so its the same thing........Right?

They are helping Brees... in his final year.

This is grandstanding to force the 8 team playoff.  Ravens are #8.

So the virus is being used to benefit certain people?  hmmmm

Who will light the fire under Doug, Howie and JP?

I know Wentz has been bad.  But, he's got a lot of company, including the guy that extorted the team to steal more money.

Yup.   Lurie needs to stick to the board room and stay out of the war room and locker room.

I was just thinking...this sounds a lot more like Jerry Jones owns this team instead of Lurie.

I mean this is all about ego at this point.  It doesn't make sense unless he believes he know more about football.  If he is pushing Hurts, that would be totally ridiculous.

Baltimore players are threatening to not play this game against the Steelers, if it happens. Just give them a forfeit then.

Why hasn't the league taken a draft pick away from them yet?

Drafted too high but Mamula was anything but a bust.  He was solid and was the king of the QB pressure.

The coach at the Ravens broke the rules.  The spread should concern the NFL as clearly something went wrong

Again, Baltimore is going through an outbreak. They have 20 players on their COVID list and guys were testing positive daily. They had an additional positive today, but that guy is on IR. If they get no more positives tomorrow, they're in the clear. That wasn't the case with Denver. You can't play that game yesterday with guys testing positive on a daily basis.

Drafted WAY too high, and they traded up for the right to grab him.  But, Lurie wanted him.   Eagles traded up to get him in the top 10, when he was a 3rd round talent.  And lost the chance to draft Warren Sapp (who is a moron, but a great DT).  Eagles could have gotten both Sapp and Mamula for what they used to get just Mamula, if Lurie hadn't mettled and let things play out and they had taken the BPA... rather than the guy that Lurie fell in love with.

As for him not being a bust... when you trade up into the top 10 for a guy, you expect more than 5 years of mediocrity and 31 sacks.  Maybe not a 'bust', but certainly not a good decision, no matter how you slice it.

Which tells me the disfunction starts at the top.  This team is a straight up mess.  Nothing good comes from the owner telling the coach who to play no matter how small the nudge was.

I don't know if that was all on Lurie.  I think part of it was on the view that Sapp had character concerns.

I agree.  It tells me that Lurie doesn't trust Pederson or Howie too.

They had video proof showing all the QBs for the Broncos talking and socializing with each other with no masks, so close they could have been in a circle jerk. It was clearly there fault. the coach today even admitted they made a mistake and this was the results for it.

I disagree that the Ravens would be playing if they found evidence they did something wrong while getting positive tests every day, not the Denver part.

He did... no doubt.  Plenty of other better players that they could have drafted over Mamula, and still gotten him later.   Derrick Brooks, who had zero character concerns, would have been a nice choice.

Then blow them ALL out.  Name Duce the interim HC and let him build his resume.

You have to wonder if he would have been much better as a 3-4 OLB.  He was productive college player.

Perhaps... or they should have just drafted Hugh Douglas.

Lamar Jackson could have come into the facility and spit on everyone while positive in the most irresponsible fashion possible, and they still wouldn't make Baltimore play if they were racking up positives on a daily basis like they have for the past week. They don't want it spreading to other teams. Denver had one player test positive. They weren't going to push the game back for that reason, even with no quarterbacks. They're making these decisions based on medical ones, not competitive.
