I've never been a fan of trading back in the first. We should be drafting from 4-8 I'd say. Depending where they end up, I wouldn't trade outside the top 10. You know Lawrence and Fields will most likely go 1 and 2. Sewell should follow. Maybe someone trades up for a Trey Lance. If they trade back a spot or 2 I'm ok with that.

with the way we draft does it matter? wouldnt it be better to have a few more picks to mitigate the risk of busts, which we seem to be pretty darn good at finding?

I still can't believe Wentz won't throw downfield. Doug just can't scheme it up.

Wentz can't throw accurately inside of 5 yards, beyond 10, or to the sidelines.  All he can do is throw a seam route to the middle of the field on the money.

Reagor can't run routes or separate downfield.

Hightower can't track or catch.

Ward/Fulgham/Alshon/JJAW are 4.6 guys.

I just posted that Doug needs to go, but there's really nothing to scheme here.  They just absolutely cannot execute a downfield pass under any circumstances.  This has been the case for 3 years.

What coach is going to want to be forced to play Wentz and look like a bust himself right out the gate?

That’s why you get a new GM to start. Then the GM gives Doug a year.

Wentz threw 45 times and was sacked 6 times.

The RBs carried the ball 9 times.

I think there's only one course of action moving forward.

I will say this one thing about Wentz...right now, he's the worst starting QB in the NFL.  In my entire life, I have never seen an NFL qb play as badly as he has, for as long as he has, without getting yanked.

With that said, they are stuck with him for another 2 years.  Things have become SO dysfunctional that we don't know what talent we have.  It's unknowable.  Not the smartest blogger, not the best GM in the NFL, certainly not our next GM....NONE of them can pretend to know what talent we do or do not have.  Everything is being consumed by this dumpster fire.  There may be good pieces in here, maybe, maybe not.

You just need to bring in a new HC and a new GM.  Implement a new system, waive goodbye to the 12 personnel offense that lives at the LOS, see what players an unbiased GM/HC combo want to keep versus which ones they are happy to discard.

Give them an offseason to work with Wentz, hope for the best, and draft a qb in 2022 if it doesn't work out.

But you need a new HC with a mulligan year to see what we have...because it's just not even possible to evaluate that right now.  There's a reason the blog is going in circles playing the blame game.

I still want to see Wentz with another HC/competent OC but they're not necessarily stuck with him the next two seasons. If they trade him before the third day of the league year in 2021, they save $852k in cap space.

Everyone looks like a bust when you can’t scheme an offense.

this is just such a lazy take with no reality based within.

Please explain

100% agree with this.  He’s been dreadful on a bad team but moving on from him with the same front office does nothing to fix this team.

Trevor Lawrence wouldn’t fix this team.

I agree, it's why i'm trading back round 1. Quality & quantity is needed. Way too much is needed on this team. One player isn't putting us over the top.

Given that Reagor/Hightower/Fulgham all have catch deep balls on bombs, yes we can do that.

We don't call overroutes. We don't run 4 verticals. We don't run scissor concepts. So opposing teams squat on the underneath stuff.

Who would be stupid enough to trade anything of value for him?

Cool, this isn’t madden. The play had a primary read. Wentz is in the process of throwing in this still frame.

Yep.  They can cut ties with Wentz after 2021 with a 24mil dead cap hit.

Wentz needs to be removed from the frying pan.

Hes getting smacked around horribly out there.  If it's possible for him to develop worse habits than he already has, it's happening.

If you don't believe in him, he should be benched for 2 weeks to evaluate Hurts.  If you do believe in him, he needs a break from this pounding, this negativity, and the way he is being forced to play.  Take a step back, let everyone see someone else fail miserably in this offense, and come back with a fresh approach.

We've been saying for weeks now to run the ball more. It's not like they even tried and failed. They just didn't try

I don’t think they should trade out at all. They need an elite player. It’s not like late first round talent is going to add a lot.

That's probably a conversation Chris Ballard will have with Reich in Indy.

Watch Wentz get traded to the Colts and tear it up. Just add to the depression of this team.

The sad thing is the run game worked the past two weeks. The Seahawks have a good run defense but you are right, they didn't even try.

Part of me just wants them to try and make Reagor the best slot receiver as possible. He has the physical tools to be a good RAC Receiver but needs the confidence. I think he's way more Agholor than Desean.

Press Taylor should be fired before the end of the season.

Defense was too good today to only win 3 games.

If they play the way they did today the rest of the year, they'll beat WFT, Dallas, and will have a shot against AZ.

But they won't play the way they did today the rest of the year.  The defense will never maintain this level of intensity.  This was everything they have.

Probably. The offense gave them every reason to quit tonight, and they didn’t. But that was probably it.

Rivers is playing 1000 times better than Wentz what’s to say he doesn’t just sign another 1 year deal

That's ironic because Jefferson was a "pure slot" guy

Doug didn't have an answer for why Alshon is on the field and getting targeted over Fulgham
