ord,

Didnt they have like 11 new starters the following year. Alshon, Wisnewiski, Bliount, Ajai, Torrey, Rasual, Chris Long, Patrick Robinson all really gained a ton of confidents from a random game 9 months prior

I believe in loser franchises...(jets, Jags, etc) but I dont believe in "team carry over".

Ok so why do so many teams consistently have top 5 or 10 picks every year? Losing on purpose doesn’t seem to do them any favors?

Well that's out of left field.  Did he even get playing time while he was here?

Maybe Urlacher will take Will Parks spot.

Listen, let me explain to you what a straw man argument is.

I stated that Pederson has "simplified" the offense according to sources and I even poste the sources.  If you bothered to read the source, it stated that Pederson had designed plays so that there would be "at least" one open guy either short or underneath on most plays because Wentz was having issues with going through his reads.

That's what the report states.  If you want to argue with the report or with Pederson, your argument is with them, not me, get it?

I personally agree that Pederson should (without question) call more designed roll-outs and yes, they should run the ball more, especially this upcoming week against Green Bay.  Happy now?

I 100% disagree with the bolded.  We are still running a ton of 7 step drops, with all the guys running long developing routes.

If you want to believe an article, more power to you, I believe what I see and what I see is a 25:75 run pass ratio, that DOES NOT HELP the QB.

Pete Carroll went to a 50:50 run pass ratio the last two weeks because Wilson just went through his worst three game stretch of turnovers in his career.  THIS IS HELPING THE QB.

Yup bit of a head scratcher.

News came out at the deadline they were trying to trade him, then that fell through so now they just cut him for who for what???

Never heard of him, is he related to urlacherzzz?

what nonsense? posting facts? seems like wentz bots cant handle the truth, not to mention wentz couldnt move the ball until 5 minutes in the first half or him throwing in the endzone to a defender like what excuses that?

Goedert said the interception was 100% on him, tried to do to much instead of running the route he was supposed to.  Wentz could not move the ball because Doug refuses to do the things that Wentz does well, roll outs, up tempo.

Here is some facts for you, Wentz is a much better QB on the move, why has Doug called 6 roll outs on the last 141 passing plays he has called ??

Mailata is still not starting LT level. He’s getting better and may improve to be by then but right now he’s not. I’d start Dillard and have Mailata be the swing tackle(which we use quite a bit anyway).

I dunno, I think he's a starter. He might have his ups and downs but he's a starter and the potential is through the roof with him.

We've had some O-line discussions on here since Mailata has been playing and going through different scenarios.  IMO this is how I look at things.

Best case scenario

Dillard proves he was worth the 1st round pick and is your LT.  Mailata moves to RT and allows you to move on from Lane Johnson.  Get 2nd or 3rd for Lane before it's too late.

Most likely scenario

Mailata is your LT, Dillard is moved for a 3rd rounder.  Lane stays at RT.

Less than ideal but realistic (only because I think Mailata has All-Pro potential)

Dillard is LT, Johnson stays and Mailata is your swing tackle

Worst case but very Eagles like

Eagles want to prove Dillard was right pick and keep him at LT.  Can't find home for Mailata so they trade him for a 5th.

Just curious what everyone thinks will happen next year when Dillard returns? Seems like Mailata has been playing well at LT. Would the plan going forward be Mailata starting and having Dillard back him up, or having Dillard learn from Lane Johnson at RT? I remember Dillard played at RT once last season and did not look good. Dillard is also going to be 26 next year, Mailata, despite being in the league longer, will only turn 24. I hate to think of us wasting another 1st round pick but so far it doesn't seem like Dillard fits or will pan out? Never liked the draft pick when it was announced.

The sheer amount of injuries/attrition on the OL this season means the Eagles need to keep every qualified OL player.  There is also zero money to go out and sign any FA.

Dillard and Mailata should be in an open competition at LT at training camp in 2021 and the loser of that competition needs to be the swing tackle.  If Dillard wants a professional football career, he’s going to have to learn both positions

What are some things you would consider simplifying a play call. personal opinion, no wrong answer

Thanks again to your Philadelphia Eagles for beating the Vikings for us a couple years back in the NFC Championship Game.

This just shows how much faith we should put in to the TC highlights and takes from the Philly media/bloggers.  If we listened to them, Parks was the 3rd safety, essentially a starter who was going to have a huge role on defense.  Maybe the hamstring really screwed him but I can think of 10 different players I would cut before Will Parks.

That's a hope, not a plan.

He played a total of 114 defensive snaps in 6 games, including 10 last night.

Now, why is he on the field over Fulgham? Because Doug.

I’m guessing they are going to give the reps to wallace.

If Mailata is actually that good then I’m happy with him being the LT and Dillard being the swing tackle or maybe moving to guard

Given the amount of injuries we’ve been sustaining every year, i don’t think it’s worth moving any of Lane, Mailata, or Dillard for a 3rd.

Maybe. I'm not sure why you'd need to release him for that though.

Did you see Dillard at RT? He's not a swing tackle.

Still havent answered my question....

No wrong answer... HOW WOULD YOU SIMPLFY A PLAYBOOK FOR A STRUGGLING QB

I would need to know what is going on behind the scenes, etc.  Anything less is nothing but conjecture.

That said, one thing I tend to agree with is that Wentz seems to do better with designed roll-outs and I would call more designed roll-outs.

And what Pederson (at least attempted to do) with the "one guy always open underneath or short" idea seems like a good idea on the surface but NFL defenses tend to "catch on" when you try to "simplify" things like that for your QB so they end up blanketing the "underneath/short" guy.

I wouldn't mind seeing more "up tempo" that seemed to work last night and I would give Wentz the freedom to run if he feels the need.  I would also run the ball more often, especially against Green Bay this week...although with this offense, Wentz can easily "check out" of runs...so we really don't "know" how often that is happening "behind the scenes", etc

That would be a start

I think they were attempting to trade him at the deadline and really didn’t get any offers. So I’m guessing they were ready to move on for a while until they thought wallace was healthy enough and up to enough speed. Probably doing him a favor so he can play elsewhere instead of riding the bench
