Maybe. I'm not sure why you'd need to release him for that though.

I've seen people say he said somewhere on Instagram he wanted more playing time. It's probably a solid move for him personally, he's in a contract year and can go to a better team.

Did you see Dillard at RT? He's not a swing tackle.

He moved over there as a last-minute replacement, though.  He didn’t take the proper mindset and it affected his play greatly.  It’s much different when you understand it’s going to be a requirement of your continued career

Then maybe see what Mailata looks at right tackle and keep Dillard at LT.  It's much too soon to give up on Dillard, imo.

I would need to know what is going on behind the scenes, etc.  Anything less is nothing but conjecture.

That said, one thing I tend to agree with is that Wentz seems to do better with designed roll-outs and I would call more designed roll-outs.

And what Pederson (at least attempted to do) with the "one guy always open underneath or short" idea seems like a good idea on the surface but NFL defenses tend to "catch on" when you try to "simplify" things like that for your QB so they end up blanketing the "underneath/short" guy.

I wouldn't mind seeing more "up tempo" that seemed to work last night and I would give Wentz the freedom to run if he feels the need.  I would also run the ball more often, especially against Green Bay this week...although with this offense, Wentz can easily "check out" of runs...so we really don't "know" how often that is happening "behind the scenes", etc

That would be a start

So you acknowledge that Doug should roll out Wentz more but does not, that he should call more up tempo but does not, and the one thing from the article saying they are simplifying things to help Wentz the defenses catch on and shut down.  Add that to a 25:75 run pass ratio, what exactly has Doug done to simplify things for Wentz ??

I like The Eagles. Happy you guys won it all a couple years ago.

Listening to Chris Simms on Pro Football Talk, he says what we all know that Howie Roseman was hot on Jalen Reagor. He also made it pretty clear that Doug was not on board with it. There had to be a lot of convincing. I'm so frustrated with this team's drafting. I really don't know if I can watch this team next year if Howie is still around, especially if Doug is the only one to go. Picking Reagor over some of the WRs who were still available a year after taking JJAW over a bunch of studs is so beyond ridiculous and a complete failure by this team's front office.

Please don't let it come out that Doug wanted Jefferson, especially after it came out that Chinn was higher on the board than Jalen Hurts

That's fine but I don't see how anyone could say, today, that we are going into Lambeau to beat the Packers. And yes I know they did last year but you can't compare the Eagles this year versus last year. This team is in total disarray.

You act like picks 5 to 10 are so much better than 11 to 22 year after year.

Ok I’m just trying to play devil’s advocate for your obvious belief that if your team stinks you’re better off losing every game. If that were necessarily the case then why do the same teams seemingly pick high every year. Same with good teams picking late.

Yes. I’d rather the Eagles pick 6 than 16 but there’s no guarantee one player is going to make that huge of a difference. Actually it’s very unlikely. This year - if I were a Jags or Jets fan then I get that mindset because a Lawrence is a once a decade kind of prospect. That’s it though.

Just don’t understand how someone can be a fan of a team, watch the game, and root for them to lose.

To be fair when we went into Lambo last year we were 1-2 and also down a ton of starters.

A lot of NFL coaches on our staff wanted JJAW too🤐

Fair. I'm hardly a Doug apologist right now.

And they all should be fired.  Especially the ones that backed whoever wanted Reagor over Jefferson.

😳😳😳

You can bench (Carson) Wentz, fire Dougie P, but you still got the same little weasel snake picking the players. He has been God awful," Scandrick said. "You say Wentz doesn’t have any help, well how is he supposed to have help if you draft J.J. Arcega-Whiteside over DK Metcalf? Then we go to the offseason and we say ‘Wentz still doesn’t have any help', and we draft Jalen Reagor who was a punt returner. He was basically known for being a punt returner at TCU over (Justin) Jefferson. It is time to blow the whole thing up. Blow it all up. Enjoy the Super Bowl, give him his Super Bowl ring, give him all the little nice pats on the back, call him a nice Uber XL and get him on out of there.”

That's my best case scenario.  Dillard proves he's the LT of the future and Mailata can take his nasty to RT and be our next Runyan.  Totally different game than Lane Johnson.  I know this means moving on from Lane but it's going to happen sooner than later.

I mean, using Scandrick to discuss anything Eagles is insane.

Yes sir.  Louis Riddick on the other had, he is 100% on point.

I mean he’s not wrong on that assessment.

Rodgers had a few good games.  Wentz has some trust on him and looks for him.  He can make a decent 3rd TE for the team, like Burton from a few seasons back.

Riddick has been a bitter Howie basher for years.

He may be right,  but he has no real credibility discussing eagles FO matters. He has an agenda.

He is correct regardless of his agenda.
