Clearly, Howie can not justify that, no matter how he tries.

Those look like the #1 and #2 scoring defense that Fulgham did damage against.

I don't agree with it. But, I can see Doug and Howie telling Lurie that Fulgham isn't ready yet and that teams are adjusting to him, etc. to try to justify playing Alshon and Reagor. Howie is going to save his own skin one way or another. He has to try to make justify his big contracts and draft picks look more successful than they really are.  I think it is very likely that Howie dictates playing time for certain players based on contracts or money.

You guys think the Ravens Covid list could beat us ??

100% he’s getting benched for Gerry

I think Denver's QB-less team could beat us in a low scoring FG fest.

IMO, you let him earn his lumps, he is paid plenty and going through this will earn him credibility and it just may help him develop as a man and leader

Its one thing to get dropped into a perfect scenario and play well, its another to slog through the mud alongside his teammates and come out the other side.  Plus, he already has the "injury prone" label so he needs to get through this and show toughness, hes the only uninjured starter along with Kelce.

Hurts' presence is an unmitigated disaster.  It has been since Day 1.  To me its just a symptom of what is going on in the organization.  The world is starting to realize it now, and its over

The overall concern for me is another season ending injury if he tries to play through something.  The bigger picture is working through the end of the Pederson era and keeping Wentz healthy

Who wants to take a bet that Will Parks signs with a team and has an interception before any Eagles player does.

Sorry thats a suckers bet

It's a definite possibility. These coaches are allowing politics and contracts to get in the way.  Flajole loves Gerry just because he knows how to line people up.

While I do not agree, this made me laugh

Trust me, I've heard the hype, and people forget about the big hype guys quite often too.

Sammy Sleeves, Stafford(not as much as those two, but still a lot)

Everyone can hype him as the next big thing because they can fall back on its Adam Gase' fault that he sucks in the NFL.

The Alshon ball was too far out in front of him, should have caught it but it was off.

None of the 3 passes were egregiously off target but all 3 were inaccurate enough that the degree of difficulty was more than it needed to be.

I don't think it's much of a stretch to suggest that Wentz is inconsistent accuracy wise, I can't imagine too many would argue that.

Were the passes catchable? Sure, could they have been better passes? Yes.

They cost me too. I mean not big money but still I couldn't believe it. Bloody Doug and his 2 point conversions.

BG has really become one of my all time favorite Eagles. Obviously the huge play in the Super Bowl, but the dude is just so likeable. Glad to see he's having a great year amongst the crud.

Without deflections or moving the goal posts, please explain how calling 141 passing plays vs 52 runs the last 3 weeks is making things easier for the QB.  And of those 141 passing plays, I believe 6 designed roll outs.

I blame Marty.

Gase isn’t getting near Trevor Lawrence.  That would be like giving the Glengarry leads to Alan Arkin and Jack Lemon

I'm sure Gase will be fired. But, if I were Lawrence's agent, I would pull an Eli Manning/John Elway and say that my client won't play for the Jets.

Bad news for us on #teamtank.

This is not to say that Fulgham is the greatest thing ever or anything, but they had something that was working, Alshon came back and immediately... and I do mean immediately... it got broken again.

Packers favored by 9 so far. I'll be surprised if it doesn't go a bit higher.

It will depend on what the Jets and Jaguars do with their HC & GM positions; unfortunately JAX is right there behind the Jets, which sets up a "pick your poison” scenario.  He’ll need to save either franchise, and if you can make the Jets relevant again in New York the world is your oyster — so to speak

The reason there are "chunks of the playbook missing" is because Carson Wentz has lost the ability to go through his reads so Doug Pederson has simplified the offense in order to help Wentz make plays.  He has been calling a "vanilla offense" because of Wentz, NOT the offensive line:

Carson Wentz is struggling this season and with the Eagles needing their star quarterback to snap out of his slump, Doug Pederson has reportedly "dumbed down” the offensive playbook to help give his signal-caller some confidence per a report from Mike Kaye of NJ.com.

According to a person with knowledge of the Eagles’ plans, head coach Doug Pederson and his offensive assistants have tried to design plays to create at least one open receiver immediately after the snap and have encouraged Wentz to throw to that receiver for several reasons:

– The strategy eliminates Wentz’s need to run through progressions, which inexplicably has proven challenging for a quarterback in his fifth season;

The Eagles star has been sacked a league-leading 40 times, leads the NFL with 14 interceptions, and is one of the lowest graded signal-callers in the entire NFL.

With head coach Doug Pederson hearing the calls for his job, Monday night could be Wentz’s final shot at righting the ship before the Eagles make a change.

Wentz is completing almost 59% of his passes for 2,326 yards and 14 touchdowns to go along with his league-leading double figures interception rate.

My favorite parts about you trying to prove your agenda through this stupid article:

1) "According to a person with knowledge of the Eagles' plans."  Is that the same person that broke the brilliant story about Jalen Hurts getting more snaps this week?  Or was this another reliable source?

2) Even if this were true, Doug and his offensive assistants have failed MISERABLY.  Anyone with eyes can see that this offense isn't dumbed down AT ALL.  Before you cherry pick 1-2 plays from last night where a receiver actually was open, try looking at the other 58, where they couldn't even get off press coverage.  Or when they did, none could create even an inch of separation.

True. Jax's offense has been dreadful for years. They signed Foles and they didn't give Foles any talent at TE and WR to work with other than DJ Shark who was an unknown at that time.  But, at least in Florida there's no taxes and the weather is good.

Then he should be fired just for that.  A GM who does a good job doesn't need to justify moves, the moves justify themselves.  And if they don't, then nothing you do to cover it up really makes up for it.   Playing Alshon doesn't make it look like his contract was a good idea, it just makes the offense look worse, and makes the guy that they spent even bigger money on play worse.   Playing Peters at LT didn't make Howie look smart, it made Howie look desperate.  Mailata playing well would make Howie look smarter, because he drafted him... or was that a Douglas pick.   See, that's the issue.  But, if Howie were truly the brains he'd be able to spin it in such a way that he'd look good even if Mailata wasn't his guy, because he let the football people do their thing and it is paying off.   The Peters situation has been a disaster since the end of 2018, and its only getting worse each week it seems.
