But, neither guy has another gear. Their speed is the same in terms of no suddenness/burst.  Austin rarely gets separation, too.

Oh... I hear ya.   Im not happy with Reagor.  I had high hopes, though he wasn't my preference... but he has disappointed.    I'm not declaring victory, but I wish the Eagles would listen to me about WRs... we'd have drafted Allen Robinson, Chris Godwin and Justin Jefferson.   That'd be a pretty good 3 wide.

Best man wins, the other becomes the swing tackle.  It will be amazing with offensive line continuity, Brooks and Lane back to 100% the impact it will have on the offense.

Hopefully that offense will be designed and called by someone not named Doug Pederson.

With a healthy OL combined with continuity, Doug will finally be able to design his "wall of death" offense.  4 TEs on the field and 1 RB.  He will still call 7 step drops with all 4 TEs trying to find the soft spot in zone while the D is in man coverage.  15% run, 85% pass.  The future is now.  Doug is just way ahead of his time.

The argument kind of goes against itself and into circular logic.  If Doug had in fact dumbed down the offense and given Wentz one read option immediately after the snap, Wentz would be throwing much quicker than he is.  If Wentz simply isn’t running the plays as designed, then Hurts would/should have been put in as QB quite awhile ago.  If the argument becomes that Hurts hasn’t been put in because he wouldn’t be able to make the throws either, then it becomes obvious that Wentz isn’t the problem.
Then, if the argument becomes that Hurts isn’t the starter because Howie or Lurie is refusing to let Doug make a QB change, then Doug should just quit because he doesn’t actually coach the team.

I’m going to take a Tylenol and lay down.

That definitely hurts my brain.

Absolutely.  I try not to believe in BS or "conspiracies," but with the personnel decisions and snap percentages for some of these veterans, I believe Howie has a huge influence on who plays on Sundays.

That would be exhibit B for reasons to fire him.  The players he drafted would be exhibit A.

I haven't watched a ton of Metcalf outside of highlights this year (which were ridiculous), but I thought the scariest thing about watching him last night is his size and how he uses it.  Not only can he create silly separation because of his speed.......but he doesn't even need to.  He's wide open on 50/50 balls because DBs just bounce off of him if a ball is underthrown.  We smacked him in the mouth with solid hits on their opening drive, and it was almost laughable trying to watch a defender make a solo tackle.

Howie, your thoughts on drafting JJ Arcega-Sideline instead?

Just curious what everyone thinks will happen next year when Dillard returns? Seems like Mailata has been playing well at LT. Would the plan going forward be Mailata starting and having Dillard back him up, or having Dillard learn from Lane Johnson at RT? I remember Dillard played at RT once last season and did not look good. Dillard is also going to be 26 next year, Mailata, despite being in the league longer, will only turn 24. I hate to think of us wasting another 1st round pick but so far it doesn't seem like Dillard fits or will pan out? Never liked the draft pick when it was announced.

Given the state of Lane’s ankle and that Mailata seems to be able to play both T positions, there is an excellent chance Dillard is our LT and Mailata our RT.

I'm sure Gase will be fired. But, if I were Lawrence's agent, I would pull an Eli Manning/John Elway and say that my client won't play for the Jets.

Would be such a Millennial thing to do, if it’s hard - quit.

I’ll disagree here. Lane is  still a top RT with good football ahead of him still. Has he been banged up - sure. Who on this god awful team hasn’t been? Getting Brooks back would be tremendous as well. Those are 2 All-Pros you just don’t let go for a youth movement.

The real question to me is who is the LT next July? If Dillard can’t beat out Mailata it’s yet another indictment of Howie’s drafts.

It's not about how good Lane has been or can be.  I very much disagree that he has a lot of football, good or otherwise, ahead of him.  I absolutely believe that his body is quitting.  Brooks has 2 surgically repaired achilles.

I would bet that Brooks and Lane play less than 8 games together again.  Not because one will get cut or traded.  We hold onto players way too long for that.  Entirely because of availability.

why would CBS be doing a NFC game?

Might have been from the schedules shuffling around earlier in the season with COVID?   Maybe it's a makeup game.

It's happened a couple of times this year.

It’s been like that for a few years now. Every year they trade a few games with Fox

Quote

Each year, a handful of games are reassigned from their expected network for two reasons: to balance the AFC and NFC television packages, and to maximize exposure for particularly appealing matchups.

Each case is different. These 2 guys are all pros. Keeping QB upright is of utmost importance to any franchise. Whoever you want the Qb to be. I’m not ok with Matt Pryor and Nate Herbig playing over there in their place. These 2 aren’t Alshon and DeSean, when they are out there they make a significant difference.

Point 2, changing 75% of the roster in an off season is far fetched. Veterans are still needed.

I've been trying to decipher this for a while.   I've got nothing.   Is March 7th the start of the new league year?

It could be the eagles are 3/7 in their last 7 trips to the red zone. More amazing they have 3 turnovers in their last 7 trips into the red zone as well

I'd prefer Driscoll and Herbig to Pryor and Peters.

Lane and Brooks make a huge difference when they are both out there and both healthy.  That hasn't happened much recently.  This team needs to get younger, healthier and cheaper along the OL.   It was a great run with a great OL.  That OL got this team a Super Bowl.  But, all good things must come to an end.   This OL has taken us as far as they can.
